The Lakers really have nothing to offer elite free agents. Extra money that a team can offer his own guy to stay, what's the attraction? Terrible ownership/coach? Psychotic future HOF'er who's screaming at everyone even though he's garbage now? Nil chance of getting anywhere in the playoffs?

okay. Don't the lakers have $20+ mil in cap space this year? Kobe's done after next year. 3 nice building blocks in Randel, Clarkson, and whoever we take at #2.
You know who the Clippers' 3 nice "building blocks" are? Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and (bit of a dropoff) JJ Redick. So if Jordan gets a max offer to stay from LAC, he'd leave a contender AND $30 million on the table to go play for a dip#### coach and with a bunch of young players?
Aldridge? Assuming he does bail on Portland, how does LA compete with San Antonio? Love can either re-sign with Cleveland or just take another year with them, even if he spurns both of those options, he's risking going back to a perpetual re-building/disaster like he was with Minny.
Also keep in mind that the draft is before free agency, so if they do the smart thing and take Towns or Okafor, signing a big could relegate Randle to a reserve role.
Other than another draft pick, what's changed from last summer?
