I would say Jordan. How does he not know what his agent is doing? Did Jordan even know he was a free agent? And how is this coming up now when the supposed agreement with Dallas has been common knowledge for days? The guy comes off as one part idiot, one part drama queen. Yep. July 1 is the start/finish of NBA's fiscal year. They spend the first week of July counting all the money they made over the previous season, make estimates on the new season's revenues, then set the financial parameters for the new season, including the new salary cap and luxury tax threshold.

I don't see a reason to change the league calendar because of it.
