Hell yes. Hell yes.
Are you sure?

I'm not sure I like this deal for Houston. Actually seems like a lot to give up - take it from a team that tried to get a troubled PG last year...

Lawson's not exactly a defender, and he's on on-ball guy when he's at his most effective. On the one hand, nice to take some pressure off of Harden to create. On the other...Harden needs the ball in his hands to be most effective.

Will be very interesting.

A protected first and four bench guys that aren't in the rotation for Lawson and a 2 is highway robbery. They need someone other than Harden to create. He was out of gas by the end of the year.

It's a solid gamble, I agree.

But "hell yeah" is a little overboard. I'd temper expectations based on fit and the risk that he really is a headcase that won't be around much longer.

The headcase part is a legit concern, but worries about Lawson's fit part is puzzling. It's like people expect Harden to have the ball in his hands 100% of the time.

Harden had the ball so much out of necessity. He needed help and Lawson provides that in spades. Great move by Dork Elvis.

I think it is a good trade for both teams. Lawson definitely has the talent to be a difference maker for the Rockets but he overstayed his welcome in Denver. A late first rounder is worth the gamble that he gets his #### together.

Abe/Rockets fans, is the Greek dude worth a crap? He seems like a homeless man's version of Gallinari.

He looked good the first third of the year then fell out of the rotation. If any of the four players Denver acquired will play meaningful minutes this year, it's him. But all of the contracts traded are non guaranteed or partially guaranteed. I won't be surprised if Johnson is the only guy on Denvers roster when the season begins.

Most rockets fans thought that acquiring Lawson would cost Jones or Capella, two guys they we would rather not part with. The fact that he is coming over for a rather insignificant amount is awesome. If he works out, great. If not, he's cost us a late first round pick. That's a gamble with high upside and not much cost.

:lmao: So Sac dumps their 1st round pick of last year to free up money. They use it to overpay Rondo. While watching Lawson get dealt for a cast of nobodies.

It seems crazy to think the play in the west could be even better this year. What's the record for 60 win teams in a single conference? Because 4 or 5 is definitely in play for next year in the west.

We might have to setup a tourney.

I'd second the SWC nomination.

Would throw Bruce Dickinson and Sports_Fan's name in there.

Just gotta make sure it isn't a Laker fan.

They all have to play each other four times.

Almost impossible.

Joel Embiid (foot) re-broke the navicular bone in his right foot, sources told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Bad news is getting worse for Philadelphia. The Sixers issued a statement indicating Embiid hadn't healed as the team had hoped, but there was no indication that the big man had re-broken the bone again—until now. Embiid is facing another lost season and an uphill battle to prove he can get—and stay—on the floor.

He was already lost for this season, right? Maybe the break was the reason for the pain? Or is this brand new, not just previously undiscovered?

Basically he's too long and his circulation sucks, so he doesn't heal fully/as well as others. It sounds like its likely to just keep breaking/not healing properly.

From a former student now in med school,"The Navicular is the last bone in the foot to form. If a person has poor circulation, its the bone in the foot most likely not to form correctly, vulnerable to breaks. Lack of blood to it reduces the chances of it healing properly. Embiid probably has a circulation disorder, and his navicular either never took the right shape as a kid or stopped getting enough blood after a late growth spurt, making it brittle. The issue fixing it isn't only getting the bone fixed, but getting the blood flow back into it too. I'm licensed to practice medicine in zero states and zero countries, but I doubt that foot ever heals well enough to play pro basketball on it."

Isn't that what I said? ;)

If it keeps you from bumping that cranium while squeezing it through the doors at SuperAmerica for a 79-cent fountain drink, then yes.
