Tips for playing in a league with Offensive Player Utility position? (1 Viewer)

For this Offensive Player Utility position, we can....

Offensive Player Utility (OP): If this utility slot is selected, team owners have the option to start any offensive roster slot. The maximum number of starters at the OP slot is fifteen (15).

This spot in my league is in addition to 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 PK, and 1 Defense. It's 10 team and non-PPR.

Does this mean you are best off to go QB QB pretty much no matter what with your first two picks?

I have no idea where I'm picking yet.

Yes, a QB will be what you're going to want to play in that spot. So adjust your draft accordingly.

Hmmm...when I plug everything into the VBD app, it's very RB heavy. I guess this is because only 4 pts per passing TD and no PPR. Interceptions are -2 points so I guess that has a pretty big impact too.

Interesting.

It's really dependent on the scoring rules but you also need to make certain you set DD correctly with the QB slot flexed.

In my OP league it's showing VERY QB heavy at the top and we are 4/-1 (and PPR).

I had to enter 2 QB in the excel vbd because the flex option looks like it excludes QB.

In general you're best off going QB-QB to start. However, I wouldn't call this an "absolute must" in a 10-teamer superflex the way I would if it were 12+ teams or mandatory 2QB.

In fact, if you can grab a Luck or Rodgers at the top, you can strongly consider rolling with a QBBC in your OP slot using a tandem like Dalton / Mariota or Foles / Winston (one guy with a decent floor and another with a high ceiling). Depending on the flow of your draft you should be able to tag-team those picks in the 5th-6th-7th rounds somewhere, which will leave you the rest of your high picks to grab studs at other positions.

Supeflex is my favorite lineup format, been running my neighborhood league this way since its inception. I think you'll love it ... good luck.
