Titans 2018 (1 Viewer)

PK on 1045 has Taywan Taylor, Warren Moon, then Greg Cosell on.

My guess is there will be a lot of Taylor talk (and multiple WR sets) with those two after Taylor is on. They have an oldfashoned website and app, but they work just fine and you can hear it live and usually the recordings after. I would expect a lot of Taylor hype talk and figure this is the conversations many of you want to hear

Davis and Murray pulled hammies

Davis getting MRI, Murray isn't

MY guess is week 3 preseason return. Will know more after MRI

Adoree still backup to Sims and McCain. Mularkey discussed that he hasn't passed them. People talking like OMG he's not starting, but he will play plenty. They want more than 3 and to be able to sub fresh bodies. If he passes McCain(remember he barely played slot CB in college) then McCain will still play plenty. Not only do they want fresh legs but they want their CBs to be able to move all over. Don't read into Adoree not starting yet

Antwaun Woods demoted. Robbins promoted. Two videos of pancakes of Levin by Woods. Another video of him getting Ferguson. Big fella didn't like being demoted.

I have seen so many videos of Levin getting beat that I can't believe he's on the team. It's absurd now

Titans new social media guy is hunting down videos and saying they must be taken down. They are really trying to stop videos at camp and are NOT making fans happy. Some have said next year phones will not be allowed at camp and point to concerts where phones are not allowed. I'm watching this stuff. It's real interesting to see the team versus their diehard fans.

Probably should say Davis was dominant before he got hurt. He burned everyone and was having an outstanding day

Yeah it doesn't look that bad, right? Davis week to week, meaning he will be out a week then re-evaluated.

Pretty cool to see all these pics of high school kids and parents with their kids, mobbing the Titans.

They did the same intro as the kids do for their high school games.

What an experience for those high school kids. We used to play the Giants in basketball when I was in school. Still to this day, I remember every minute of those games that I was in for.

The kids obviously can't practice football against the huge NFL guys but they are to be involved a little bit. It's assumed they'll catch some passes and punts.

Maybe they call plays from the sideline (for 7 on 7 or live) and have a HS kid run in the play to the huddle?

IDK but the pics already are great and it just started. Someone with the Titans deserves huge props for this idea

It would be cool to see them play flag football with the kids and the players could be trusted to not be stupid. But one misstep or freak incident, or a kid being stupid and the franchise looks like ?

Did you see the videos people shared?

It's star like. Definitely make ya say wow while watching.

There's no debate or question or all that. We all know the Titans haven't had that, maybe ever. Our best were just fast.

Weems missed him every time. If he can't play WR well then he had better play gunner better. "Backup return guy" isn't really a position where a player sticks.

It's a bit concerning really. The Titans spent much of their offseason signing ST players and re-signing some of their own ST players. Adoree rolled right through them four times and ...that ST coach is lucky to have a job today. Practice with game scripts Friday, scrimmage Saturday, and he didn't improve his ST coverage one bit. Late in the year, the Titans were playing starters on ST because they were expectant of getting burned. This was supposed to be fixed. A time or two would be "nice play rook" but Adoree was 4 for 4. That's terrible

To a degree, I liked Davis almost crying almost angry very frustrated on the sidelines. Always a fan of guys that "have to" be on the field.

Lewan had an incredible block. He pushed and pushed and pushed Palmer until he was well behind the goalpost. Instagram Mickey from 1045 I believe had it. Palmer spun, shifted to the side, other side....it was probably the best block you will ever see. Lewan kept moving his feet, zig zagging a little bit as Palmer tried moves, and Lewan kept pushing him back. Absolutely perfect.

The first night Taylor played well(four catches) but dropped one KR and one pass he should have had. The next night he fumbled a KR, but otherwise caught everything. Talk is he's just not gonna be a return guy. My thoughts on prior Titans WRs, geesh he made me nervous hearing he dropped balls. I'm glad it was just first night jitters or somesuch.

Woods best NT, not close, still with 2nd and 3rd team. Levin still awful. Matias zero sacks in both games, Henry had several excellent runs off him at RG. Titans still claim Kline is the unquestioned starter. He allowed a sack to Casey and a pressure to Dodd and Henry had to run into his back.

Carraway covered very well. Walden and Dodd did not. Walden made "a great play" where he just redirected Muhammad back to the middle and he was swallowed by a mess of Titans at the LOS. Dodd got after the QB well with his hand in the dirt. Same stuff I said and others too. OLBs cover. We know those two can get after the QB, but they're not as valuable and not as useful if they can't cover. They're 3rd down blitz LBs then. Carraway covering is big for him. It also shows the Titans were able to teach a former DE to convert to LB. If he keeps it up, he's at least assured a PS spot.

Another prediction I had right was Reed switching to FS. He did well and the little bugger had no problem nailing Henry. Fluellen stiff armed him pretty good, but all in all people were surprised he had some toughness to him. Denzel Johnson (who was somewhat of a prized UDFA like John Green) played awesome. 40 yard INT for a TD. When he subbed for Byard, he got Henry down. He went in for Searcy as 3rd SS and got a sack. Reporters were impressed with Curtis Riley and fans said he was far bigger like he bulked up this offseason. Not a peep about Raiders ST guy on defense, but these backup safeties played great.

Casey got a sack past Conklin each night. Conklin got him good on running plays and I'm almost sad there aren't videos of those two battling on the web. I love the stars battling and making each other better.

Decker and Mariota looked like best friends that have been playing forever.

Mariota got yelled at for throwing to Matthews with three guys there. Matthews caught it but people hadn't seen Jason Michael hollering in years.

Amaro had a TD, Jonnu had two, Walker had one.

Mariota seems supremely confident, probably like a guy that never had weapons this good, but where's the D?

Henry was dominant with zero exaggeration in using that word. He is rocking while Murray is hurt. I am hmmmm to the idea of him getting the starting spot over Murray. He's definitely put a dent in the "they won't bench Murray" thinking. He had many runs where the yardage was teens- 18 yard run, 16, 14...that ain't normal and we have to see if that continues.

Henry smiles when Fowler comes in and he was seen smiling as Fowler laid a block a couple times. Mularkey's gotta note that. That's a football response Mularkey should eat up. Fowler and Jonnu were brutes with Henry following and Walker was going nuts on the sideline smiling and loving it. Same play the next night and those two beat up the LBs and DBs for Henry to get roughly 40 yards. Not a TD again, but another huge gain.

It was probably 50/50 with snaps where there are two TEs versus 3 WRs but there was a ton of proset so I'm kind of crosseyed understanding what that means. Bottomline is they ARE doing other sets than the 2 and 3 TEs of the last few years.

Facial expressions that some of you don't like. Mularkey seems very pleased very happy with Fowler and Jonnu. He was high fiving them and pumping his fist, even smiling and saying something to them as they came out. Clearly that doesn't include star Delanie Walker so it won't be their main set, but I think it's noteworthy when a coach seems to love two guys producing. It probably fits with his "I'm a former TE" mindset and any concern without Fasano and Stevens too. It could have been a relief for him to see. IDK but "everyone" noticed he loved those two this weekend.

Supernaw was just third and short and goalline TE. He wasn't in a Fasano/Stevens role.

Logan Ryan called his performance pitiful. Taylor and Decker had about 6 catches each (combined) on him. The other DBs weren't pleased either and he said that's how it should be.

MSommer, Amaro is NOT blocking better and was thrown around
Also with Cunningham a capable blocker and not good receiver, I think if I were Mularkey, I'd keep Cunningham over Amaro as a depth TE. I think Jonnu pushes this to where a depth TE that's a blocker could be more useful than a depth TE that can only catch. Jonnu really erases that "we need a sub for Delanie" value that Amaro had.

Best player plays. The rest go home.

Cameron Wolfe ESPN reported that Murray was having a light day monday and tuesday

That could mean he got a week off, his hammy was already bugging him, it's the NEP star treatment.... all sorts of things, so no jumping to conclusions here, just the timeline for the injury could be a bit skewed

Murray on sidelines running tonight, Henry doing very well.
Taylor just made an incredible catch everyone tweeted about

Henry only had reps with the ones. Mularkey said "the ones had more, so Derrick had more" (as far as reps)

Mularkey presser: Typing as I hear, like notes

Radcliff signed due to DeMarco not doing well

Klug hurt same foot as achilles but just stepped on someone. Not concerned

Mariota to play Saturday, he really wants to

force-feeding gameplan late in the week, this is camp, not about the Jets

"I don't think anyone should read into the depth chart. (Reporters) You guys wanted one, I didn't"

McBride going into 4th year gotta be more consistent. he's playing well, but has to be more consistent. (I think it's 3rd year)

Adoree able to recover, turn his head all the way around, and make an INT. "It was great. His athleticism isn't something we haven't really had around here."

Taywan's played a lot and gotten a lot of reps. How do you like his progress? "I like it a lot. He's got a lot on his plate for a young player, especially in the slot. He's pretty sharp"...knowing all positions something or other.

From Terry McCormick: http://titaninsider.com/corey-davis-optimistic-learning-hamstring-injury-not-serious/

Davis is optimistic that he will be back for the Titans’ season opener against the Oakland Raiders, saying, “I believe so,” when asked about being able to play in that Sept. 10 game.

“It’s not as serious as I thought. We took a look at the MRI an it actually wasn’t as bad (as I thought),” Davis said

Davis, the Titans first-round pick and the fifth choice overall in the draft, spoke about the injury as he walked off the field at Centennial High School Friday night where his Tennessee Titans teammates practiced before 6,800 fans who packed the stadium.

“Honestly, it isn’t that bad. We’re taking it week by week at this point,” Davis said. “Obviously I’m bummed that I can’t practice these next few days. I’m a competitor and I want to be out there and practice and play, but we’re just taking it slow at this point.”

Titans coach Mike Mularkey didn’t seem worried about Davis’ injury being too serious.

“There’s nothing in my control. He’s just going to try to get better every day,” Mularkey said. “I’ll know more in a week.”

Glennon quoted Mularkey as saying, ““He’s quick and he’s fast,” coach Mike Mularkey said. “I’ve been around guys who’ve had quickness, but he’s got both. He’s got some skills. We’re definitely going to take advantage of them.”

Logan Ryan told Glennon, “You’ve got to respect his speed, he’s one of the fastest guys on the field anytime he’s on the field. They can use him that way. You can go vertical with him, use him for a lot of gadget plays. He’s definitely a game-changer on the offensive side.”

“I think he’s electric,” Mariota said. “I think he has a knack of making plays with the ball in his hands. So, as much as we can, we’ve got to find ways to get him the ball and be creative about it. I think he can really be a force for us.”

The love for "the other rook" just keeps pouring in

Is this about Taylor?

Is this about Taylor?
Taywan Taylor

Yes.

Along similar lines, Taylor’s quickness makes him tough to bring down in space, which is why Western Kentucky got him the ball plenty of times on bubble screens, jet sweeps and more. He only ran the ball 14 times for 49 yards in college, but the results might be better behind the Titans’ impressive blocking schemes. In a practice earlier this week, the Titans pitched Taylor the ball a couple of times on reverses, another way to allow him to make plays.

I am high on Mariota this year.  He's got some nice weapons and an offense that can move the chains.

Adoree hasn't even played offense yet either. I'd like to see a play with the three rookies (Davis, Taylor, and Adoree) in a 3 WR set. Late in the year, when they are more comfy and defenses usually have DBs injured, that could really be a sort of "home run" big play alignment.

In their passing sets, Mariota has two sure handed targets (Matthews and Walker or Matthews and Decker), one of the better pass catching RBs in Murray, and then an exciting rookie. That's just incredible from a Titans fans perspective. They've gone from a WR corps that drops the ball so frequently you yell at the TV, to a group that gives the feeling they might never drop it. (Surely they will, it's just a phrase.) They're going to be frustrating for defenses especially with the possibility of a big play from a rookie "breaking their back."

This is like a dream come true really. It's been a hard few years or so. For people to discuss the Superbowl with them (I expect they lose in playoffs then maybe the next year) is such a change. We were the stinkin' Browns two years ago. Worst team in football and coming off a season before where they 'lost' to the Browns in the worst team race.

such a goof, love that guy

"Chris Randgaard, a Titans season ticket member from Hendersonville, made a field goal in practice, and was lifted off the ground and onto the shoulders of tackle Taylor Lewan. Randgaard was awarded signed football from the o-linemen."

Conklin and Lewan were so jealous of Fowler/Jonnu leading the way downfield for Henry, that they are doing those roles this morning.

How awesome is that? The mindset to beg the coach to block like that, that they have the athleticism to pull it off....love it.

I don't know which lined up like a FB but since Lewan is a goof, I'd guess it was him

"big fight" "quite a scrum" just happened

OL versus DL in goalline situations

Robinson and Mularkey involved in breaking it up

Titans security went into the stands yelling at fans. Not supposed to have phones out but they pulled em' out.

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out

"Pretty good scrap this morning in @Titans practice. GM Jon Robinson didn't like it. He pretty much dove in pile of players to break it up."

George Walker (awesome famous photographer) got pics of fight. JRob talking to him.

It's gonna take bribery Jrob. The Tennessean has legal rights, you ain't getting those pics unless you bribe him

Not one pic of JRob by George Walker IV, that totally has me hmmmm

You guys should look through his photos. There are thousands really.

He's got a bunch of Tre McBride making tough catches over just about every DB they have. I had said before that McBride was doing well but geesh those pics really make me wonder where he will wind up.

AFTER the presser, apparently Mularkey blew his top about the fight. I could hear reporters questioning him in the video but it was off to the side. There's a few articles. Basically he said undisciplined teams don't win and that fight is undisciplined.

Davis' status has not changed, still week to week.

Muhammad caught a pass today, ran into Avery, and fell backward, like duh. Why not just cut the guy already? Every day it's a new wow bad moment for him.

PK called McKay, Eric Decker and is getting a ton of flack on twitter from the pro-black crowd. I don't think they realize he's taking pics with his phone and how small the pics look to him. He about said, no it's McKay, no wait Decker, OK yes it's McKay. Why that is "the end of the world" is beyond me

FBGs preview pdf listed Byard as the backup safety. If you play IDP, ya might want to jump on that and use it to your advantage

By MANY accounts, it seems Jon Robinson gave his blessing for Woods to start over his high priced free agent(Sylvester Williams) today

Robinson was holding up tennis racquets to disrupt Mariota's vision. He was standing right next to the NTs.

Woods rocked today and everyone I've spoken to thinks a change was made.

The Titans have a staff meeting at 8am to decide who will play and with which group (against the Jets) but it really seems so already
