Thought they did away with that rule a while ago...
They did. I doublechecked with Wyatt on twitter. It wasn't right with him though last night. Guy has been a pleasant surprise all spring. Tanney got slammed so Ferguson came in. He handed to Henry, then hit Taylor. They needed a bunch and he only hit Taylor for five yards, but...it's tolerable for your first NFL pass.

Why didn't he play more? Tanney needed 3 Qs of action?

This is a guy that threw roughly 50 passes in college. I wanna see the arm. I wanna see his legs in the NFL. I wanted to see their goalline plays with him that I've heard about. The guy can run and he's got that college trickery. I'm pretty sure he will be my favorite backup. He was the camp darling by those fans visiting.

I plan to look up Dodd in case I'm wrong, but same with him. The guy is inexperienced and barely played.

In my experience, if you don't play in preseason or barely play, then you ain't making it. That makes no sense with these two. 900th T Jonah Persig makes some sense. Mularkey has always made questionable decisions in preseason and driven me a little bonkers. These are some of those

Bri - might it simply be Taney getting his last shot to show something? We can hope he improves but he doesn't seem like he really belongs on the team. Practice squad again?

Jalen Marshall(right name?) caught my eye for FF. I'm gonna have to keep an eye on him this summer.
WR Jets?  That's Jalin.  RB Raiders?  Jalen Richard.  Otherwise I don't know who you are referencing.

Forgive my ignorance, but who is the #1 WR?  Is it Mathews? Can Decker Emerge?  Can Corey Davis emerge?  I am interested in owning one of these guys in my re-draft?  Any homer insight?  BTW..I had Delanie last two years and he is not currently someone I covet

The answer to your question (any of them) is yes.

We don't know either

Just tell me some positive things, cause it sure didn't seem that there were many from @Bri's commentary above...
Oh yeah sure there were.
First off "our boy" Marcus looks like himself. Let's be honest, we all needed to see that and not just believe reports.

The O was 2014,2015ish the 2nd line stunk and on top of that Tanney did a Mett imitation and held the ball too long. His timing was way off. He'd hit WRs late or early.

We saw Taylor is quite capable. He had an end around, an excellent deep catch, and a few typical catches. He did drop a couple gimmes and act a fool on one play. He had caught a pass then ran an end around. On his way to the sideline, he was waved back in by the staff, so as he's approaching the huddle he has this huge smile and his arms up waving his hands like "I'm coming guys!" Geesh he should have just told the Jets the next play was to him. They had three on him, ball hit his hands and he dropped it. Dopey and amateurish, but he shook two of three. First game oopses are fine with me if ya do some other things well and he did.

Josue Matias was awesome, stellar, phenomenal. He knocked a DT onto his back on two occasions. He regularly had the DL he was blocking into the linebacker area and once threw a DT into the LB. Akeem Judd had a 40 yard run and the entire third line gave him the biggest hole you've ever seen, but it started with Matias. I've already read several sites pointing him out and I'm glad it's not just me for a change praising this guy. We MUST see him against the ones. He is clearly eons better than third string. I've written how he's split time with Kline. I want to see it and don't want it just in practice where I can't. Every one that ever liked Munchak or a Titans lineman got excited by him during that game. It was something.

Byard was getting burned deep. He'd pause and think rather than just run. Denzel Johnson shut that stuff down. The college SS laid some hits too. He flew, hit the WR, and the Jets stopped going deep. To start the game you'd have thought Valentino Blake was playing. Our secondary was destroyed by no-name WRs. Whatever all the previous beatings have given me in feelings...I loved Denzel.

Jayon Brown is smart and fast. We saw it. He caught RBs and WRs behind the LOS. Wallace did very well in Avery's spot but just eh in Woodyard's. (One roams with freedom, the other is somewhat stuck in a spot) Carraway looked good. Impressive game for his first ever at OLB. He covered well and the Jets didn't pass to his TE he had blanketed. He stayed disciplined and redirected the runner to the middle. He probably had no stats, but even Mularkey mentioned him in postgame.

Dodd barely played, Carraway went in ahead of him and after him. IDK why he didn't but just trade him already. We waited a year to see him get like four snaps? Cmon, it's time to move on then.

Muhammad was the FIFTH running back into the game. I've been telling ya he's stinkin' and geesh Judd and that guy they just picked up went in before him. Fluellen looked pretty good, fine, normal. The line stunk so he kicked it out side and got a couple. There's nothing he could do, so he did that. He picked up the blitz well too. He was not impressive but fine, reliable, safe. No mistakes. It's evident he's been in the system a few years now. I really don't see how he's not their third RB.

Weems and Adoree didn't do squat in the return game. The punters stunk and booted it like 30 yards. Beau Brinkley was outstanding. He'd snap it AND get down to make a tackle. That guy needs some love. That is not easy to do and no one ever mentions the LS.

Ferguson was thrown into the game super early due to Tanney being knocked down. He handed off and threw to Taylor. He didn't come back in. Highly questionable that he didn't play more and Tanney played 3 Qs. "Castle" didn't play.

Kalan Reed was excellent. Jeremy Boykins and Curtis Riley were very good. You missed them literally switching from CB to S every other play. It's a nice simple trick Lebeau's doing and good luck to the opposing QB picking that out. They were all so good, if they continue those are our backups for sure. I'll have to go over #s but it was so smooth and impressive. Boykins is for real. Guy is a nice athlete for 6-2 and we could sure use a big guy to matchup with the taller NFL WRs. He probably would be inactive in 2017, I mean in time. Tall CBs are just too rare today. Riley got some "guns." Clearly "beefier" and I have never been a fan. He played very well.

Tyler Marz, last year's backup T, was an intriguing UDFA in 2016. He had excellent results in college with both run blocking and shutting down names at DE. His measureables were horrific. He went undrafted because of them, but the in-game results were all splendid. Saturday, he went in at RG and then LG. I have asked since and no he hasn't played G much in practice. It's been Matias and Kline sharing with ones n twos. So it was real curious that Mularkey/Grimm put him in there. He either did very well or got pushed aside. He never blended in and just looked like one of the boys. Not one single snap. It's hard to gauge a guy that either looks great or terrible so quickly after the other. I guess the Titans are looking for him to become the most versatile backup. Technically he's played four positions for them in preseason. Marz played T super late. Moore was terrible and he got pulled. Marz took on a TE and DE and held em both back. I've been saying the guy is a player and our Ts sure are important to our team, but I don't really know what they were thinking playing him at G.

Levin stunk as did Kline at C. Just cut Levin now. I've mentioned how they're destroying him in camp, let's just move on there. We have serious backup linemen issues and don't need to waste reps on a guy that isn't doing anything well. Interestingly, Dennis Kelly did NOT play well as backup T. Jets have a nice Dl and their backups had no trouble getting past him. He's supposed to be our solid sub, so they better get on that.

Supernaw was excellent. I haven't been a fan, but gotta admit he blocked extremely well. He only played first Q, but he's probably the starter if he keeps that up. It makes me nervous as it's just one game, but definite tip of the hat to him.

Jonnu played a lot but didn't get a pass.

Both former Jets whiffed on blocks on three successive plays. They should have just left them there since they live there.

I don't think Tim "Sandwich" or Pirsig played so those backups probably should be looking to make a different team.

The huge T they drafted late. Holy geesh is he big. To look huge on a football field is not easy. He doesn't do anything. He has like no athleticism or technique. He's just in the way. My friends tell me he does, but I sure didn't see it. All I saw was a bunch of DEs wondering if it's possible to run around this mountain of a man to get to the QB.

Henry made a ton of dopey mistakes and totally choked away his progress. Murray returns today, so it'll be time for Henry to go right back to being the backup. He ran to the DBs to catch a pass instead of away from them. He missed a block that got Tanney lit up. Mularkey blamed it on Fowler but I've watched three times and idk how ya blame that on Fowler. Fowler barely played. Backup FB Bacci played.

Much of the fourth Q we saw their H-back offense and I dig it. From the two TE set, they shift to having one TE be caddy corner to the T and the other lined up as a FB. We need that for Watt and Clowney and some other teams. I prefer one hit, then the other, rather than double-teaming. It should be easier for Marcus too. He can see a guy get past the T, then get picked up by the FB/HBack and know he's about out of time. With the double teams, they just break through and are on Marcus "like that."

Matthews and it was evident in the game too. Marcus only had three throws but his panic move is still to Matthews. It'll take some time for Decker and Davis to earn that faith from Marcus. He trusts Delanie too, so it's really not like Decker/Taylor/Davis will have a whole lot of opportunities to earn it. It will probably take longer than people imagine. Also gotta keep in mind that Matthews has come through many times in 2016 and it's not like there is a need for a change. Titans want Marcus to have a guy that will make a tough catch when he's under pressure and they've got that. Matthews blocks well when he is the only WR in two TE sets too.

FF fans want a change, but the Titans have no need for one.

The first half was about half two TE and half 3 WR. If that keeps up, Decker and Davis/Taylor will have plenty of opportunities for catches.

Decker is a notably good blocker and Davis was in college as he's a big dude. Many teams blitz a CB against the two TE offense. As long as Matthews is good at shutting that down, again I don't see a need for change. Ya gotta take in that this franchise is terrified of losing Mariota to injury too.

I don't see it happening.

Stat-wise, they could both have better stats than Matthews but they probably won't be the actual #1 and the only guy in there for the 2 TE set. The Titans are totally fine with predictably running from the 2 TE set. They feel they can succeed anyway, even if the D knows what's coming and they sort of proved that last year.

Mularkey said he played the second most snaps in his presser. I guess he didn't do anything memorable.
Even on NFL game pass he only has a handful of snaps. It definitely feels weird to disagree with the coach and I don't mean to seem so arrogant. It's just I'm looking at the screen and he's not there. I gotta take screenshots of the 4-3 later, so I'll look again. I watched it twice already.

Yeah Jalin. On the replays too. He's got a real nice sharp cut in his routes and burst right after. On the deep route, he knew to turn on the jets when it's time. He is a clever runner. Titans DBs had trouble with this no name. The way my draft is going, I should have til the next game to decide but I think he'll be my last pick. He's smallish and has no arms to him, but I love how he runs his routes. I could definitely see him being their slot WR and getting 4-5 catches for like 40-50 yards, enough to cover a bye for me in PPR. Any more would be gravy. For byes, I feel safe in FF with slot types in PPR whereas the outside WRs seem to be hit or miss.

Family day, I missed yesterday's presser.

Mularkey saying Ryan got burned on one catch. ONE? We all saw two or three on the first drive. How's that possible? Byard to blame because he's the outfielder?

Blaming Fluellen for a sack, yeah he was to take out three DL that got past the OL. That's on him, geesh. Mularkey continues to drive me nuts in preseason.

Darin Bates dislocated two fingers and stayed in the game without telling them. I respect the dedication but it's stupid. It's a preseason game. Let the trainer pull n pop them back in place, throw some tape on them at least. That wasn't necessary. Maybe someone could remind him that Ronnie Lott's finger injury was not in preseason. In my day, I saw lots of people do that in hoops and the blood doesn't flow to the finger. I don't know how long ya got til ya lose it, but there's so many ways I just think this decision was dopey

ECB I am seeing Dodd in there. I was wrong earlier. I can take notes and let ya know.but as of now it looks like he was pulled as an OLB and put in at end. I'm onto something else...Monday morning stuff, but yeah I was dead wrong earlier

Annoyed. Mularkey is starting Sylvester over Antwaun this week. Praise how he won the spot, then a good brief performance Saturday... that's not right. He earned it, force Sylvester to win it back

Lllllove this guy

http://www.titansonline.com/news/article-4/NT-Antwaun-Woods-Standing-Out-in-Middle-of-Titans-D-Line/8428ed52-9948-4e96-9b33-a4902b9321be

He got a raw deal as I mentioned above, but listen to this interview. Guy went to USC where everyone else got noticed. He was on the Titans last year, did well in preseason but got stuck on the PS, while everyone else got noticed. Finally, he is getting his. He's so humble and aww shucks. It's so odd considering he's arguably the meanest beastliest guy on the field.

I have had the pleasure of talking to him a few times. The first time, I thought it was a kid and asked "Are you sure this is Antwaun?" :-)

Titans mancrush here

8-9 wins again
Lose in playoffs I think.

I'll tell ya, Clowney and Watt make for a scary D. Deandre stinks? Lost it? yeah right. The Jags keep drafting players I love in predraft, so I'm one of the few that don't underestimate them. Luck is a pain for every NFL D. Their division was the worst or one of the worst, but I don't think it is anymore. I think it's a far harder division than most think.

I've been reading some of these team schedule predictions and I swear every writer thinks the Texans stink and has no idea about the Titans excellent OL and run game.

The Titans do have a nice schedule, but after last week (and the last three years) Antonio Brown, AJ Green, Deandre and all sorts of WRs seem a bit scary. I'd sure like their secondary to perform as advertised before I go predicting.

The Titans are on a very thin line at the moment. I could see them winning 10 games or 6.  Still a big improvement over a couple seasons ago. A qb changes everything.

Some videos of Taylor today doing very very well against the Panthers.

Darin Bates with trainers as per Wyatt. ETA He also added Dennis Kelly left practice early too

Jayon Brown has played with most groups today, out and back in over n over.

Lot of good sportsman like short videos. Two teams really looking professional

Decker out as a precaution versus Panthers, Murray will play.

Decker taped the ankle up and expected to practice today but it was "too ginger" so they're going to sit him.

When asked if it was a concern, Mularkey said "No. It's just a twist. Nah."

LATER someone asked if he was sure it wasn't a concern and he said, "well I sure hope not"

Already on twitter this is being twisted more than his ankle. "Mularkey was uncertain" ...oyyy

Mularkey said it's going to very difficult to cut WRs and when asked of Douglas(off camera) he reportedly said "He is invaluable to this team."

Let the panic set in on that one :-)

"Training camp is over" I don't like that phrase. Next week, we'll do the same thing with the same players, but call it practice.

Wonderfully scripted first drive with everyone touching it, then Jonnu had a holding call at the 11. From there, the play calls stunk and they kicked a FG.

Mariota way off on a pass to McBride, but he stopped and backpedaled to get it. Easy to forget those two have some experience together in practice for a couple years.

Henry didn't do squat and neither did the OL.

Mariota had a nice fake to Henry where he kept it and ran.

Jonnu looked pretty quick running up the sideline.

Fowler going for a few on a FB dive was the only clean running play

Logan Ryan slapped at ball, forced fumble on first play. Titans ball in Panthers red zone. Byard scooped it up.

The replay guy looks like a humiliating job, such an odd thing to just stand there like that.

Harry Douglas out wide, shifted in along line like 3rd TE. Guess how Henry did? Geesh

Mariota chucked it away, rolling under pressure

Henry nice catch out of slot? I think. Missed where he was at snap, can't go back smoothly and look right now.

Henry run/dive up middle on 4th and 2

At the one, Henry swarmed, lost three. Terrible blocking.

Henry ran into Jones while there was openings on either side. Got a few though.

Mariota short fade to Walker for TD

Stewart ran wide, Avery hunted him down. Maybe loss of 1

Cassel and Tanney have been warming up on the sideline

One down lineman on 3rd and 11, Byard was on Christian. McCaffery caught a screen but was hit right away.

Adoree PR touchdown but two flags, 46 yards. Holding on Supernaw and Ryan hit the gunner, just as he was nearing Jackson, with a block in the back.

Cassel in

Henry with short run

Henry wide for 6-7, Davis pushed Fowler aside and made the tackle

Peppers almost got to Cassel, threw it away

Nice 59 yard punt, almost no return

Do you think McBride clears waivers for the PS? I don't think he does.

I think since he is now a KR and gunner, he is better than some team's fifth sixth WR that doesn't play ST

Having a nice game this week helps him too

Fluellen was well ahead for 3rd down back. The talk this week has been Akeem Judd versus Muhammad. Any doubt as to Fluellen's lead has been solidified today

Now I think it's Judd or Muhammad for the PS. Titans always have a RB and WR on PS
