Titans 2018 (1 Viewer)

"Williams dealing with an ankle issue. Woods can still start week one from the practice squad. May have to start Casey at the nose if Woods doesn't clear(waivers)"

"So you would activate him?"

"That's what the practice squad is for. If we need the players, we activate them off of it"

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Jon's decision to keep 11 linebackers. He's working on something there."

"Trade in the works? Doesn't that leave you short at other positions"

"Not if they're on the practice squad"

HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW THE PS WORKS!

Those moves seem dubious.

They may not intend to play a nose tackle on many snaps I guess and would like Casey to play there when they do.

"Discussed putting Dodd on IR with Tajae and Alex"

"what happened?"

"He wasn't agreeable"

I'm pretty sure all that is illegal coach. None of them are hurt

Really, sincerely, think he is high on cutdown day. He has said he has high anxiety over telling players they are cut and their careers are possibly over and...I strongly wonder if he takes something to handle it better. Every year it's not logical in this "what the" manner. It's not "I disagree with Mularkey" but what he says is illogical. I really wonder

ETA prescription

Called it a part time position to a reporter. Said there could be Sundays that both (DeAngelo) Brown and Woods are active. (If they clear waivers and no one claims them all season)

Bia he said-

Switched to a SAM this year, more of a 4-3 look most weeks. Tell me what SAM means in this regard. Standup LB at LOS? right?

Texted since, 4-3 look on 1st and maybe second. D is primarily nickel

Lewan called Josue best player to play next to him but "don't get me in trouble. I know my spot"

Has told Mularkey many times he wants to play tight end this year, wouldn't mind playing fullback. Henry says he'd like him as his fullback.

lol this guy. Got in trouble for going to the TE group in drills

lot of babble

best player- Taylor, most surprising. He's gonna be a name everyone knows

lol wants to punt too if it's inside the 40

There should be a drill with a catfish to decide who makes the PS

This guy is so fun

Strong side LB.

If they are going to play 4-3 more that still requires a nose tackle. But a lot of teams are going nascar with four defensive ends. Prioritizing pass rush.

I don't know is Woods fully healthy?

It seems off to just expect to be able to pick players up off the practice squad with teams still trying to fill depth at spots, but maybe they are right and no one picks Woods up?

If he is good, which based on your comments I think he is, then there are a lot of teams who could use a player like that if he is healthy.

The SAM or strong side LB will line up on the line over the TE with man to man assignment help over the top. So kind if he is talking about an Eagle look or something like that, they might not be using a nose tackle depciifcally on these formations because they are filling all the linemen gaps. They might use two 3 technique or penetrating defensive linemen on those types of plays.

Only thing that makes sense to me in regards to the SAM and the NT.

Having a nose tackle who can occupy two blockers allows the defense to do more things, either 3-4 or 4-3 so I still don't quite get it.

THis guy...hopes to reacquire McBride after he's got some playing time for another team this year

WTF with Alex Tanney. Why keep him? There has got to be someone with more upside out there, or find another developmental QB in the draft.

There's some debate whether an NFL team has to designate a player for return. The IR rule was changed to allow two players to return this spring, but it's unclear of the designation.

One radio host called the Titans trendsetters. Put Tanney on IR, gain a roster spot, and if they need a 3rd QB late in the season then they can just activate him. If not, then he's around for next year.

He pauses when he panics. He'll never be a good NFL QB. There are other evaluations that would go against him, but you can't freeze for a sec when you're under pressure. It's unreal how easy it is to sack him

Mularkey is an idiot.

Question is, is Jon Robinson complicit in the stupidity?
Neither line coach took part in the decisions. Under Fish, things were so simple with Munchak and Washburn involved. We also could always predict who made it.

Now they continue to put shmoos at the nose and allow the second worst yardage up the middle (6ypc) and cut guys like Spain. Remember he was cut in 2015 when he started six games and only allowed a half sack. Schwenke was the C of the future and is out of the league. Poutasi was the RT of the future and is out of the league.

Their NTs

Sam Hill, never picked up after starting for Titans

Al Woods is third string NT with Colts and was a surprise keeper. From Titans starter to third string

Austin Johnson who is so clearly a DE not NT, that he is now a DE

Angelo Blackson who had two starts in two years and a total of 12 tackles

Their starting NT is expected to be last year's DE Daquan Jones with Sylvester Williams, who clearly has leverage issues with an ankle, backing him up

The best summary of the nonsense is this:

If Lebeau wants, the Titans can field a defense entirely made up of LBs

Mid-presser, after talking of Weems, he forgot he cut him

(on if wide receiver Harry Douglas will be on special teams beyond being a kick returner)

In a limited role, yeah. His role would be an emergency, I've seen Harry (Douglas) catch a million punts inside the 10, and when you need that fair catch Harry (Douglas) has done it. But Eric Weems has done it as well so we have some depth there.

Fullback Joe Bacci, long snapper Ryan DiSalvo, running back Akeem Judd and defensive end Jimmy Staten, a MTSU product, all cleared waivers and were placed on injured reserve.

Looking up players at Spotrac to see if their agents posted anything and just wanted to remind everyone that it is better to be a UDFA than a 7th round pick, even better than most 6th rounders.

7th rounders are in the 150-180k ballpark while UDFAs can get 540k

Muhammad to PS

AFAIK Wolf is the only one on top of this

Two reporters told me it's not worth the effort :-)

waiting to hear

There's this impression that guys are in a line and it's one after another, next up, ok sign here

Truly the teams have sent offers to their agents the second they wanted them on the PS and it only needs to be confirmed, not signed. Signed ASAP but just confirmed to announce it

Muhammad to PS

There wasn't a scatback on the WW and Mularkey did say they would be looking "for a type."

Judd went to IR, so Muhammad or Radcliff was their only choice here.

I still strongly don't think he makes it to the active roster, is considered safe, or anything. He can't catch well and never picked up the pass pro.

I'm waiting for Darius Jennings to be signed to PS. The swiss army knife played S, CB, WR, RB, and return man in just 17? days with the team.

If they "had to" have a RB, I would guess it's Jennings.

I still very much think they will drop Muhammad and sign a RB. It's such an odd experience for a guy that they are openly frustrated about to make the team's PS but they gotta have a runner for the PS

JRob accomplished his goal of zero $ in dead cap. Somewhere Amy Strunk is thrilled. Over a year ago, this was an issue that she spoke a bunch of in an interview. I think with PK. She thinks NFL teams waste too much money that way

Steven has been terrible.

Nine of ten spots full

Last should be Matias but they have OL already

Bri....you have been tooting Taylor's horn all preseason....what are you expecting this season from him in regards to production?
I don't know.

For a week, I expect a lot from him and little from Davis.

I think a lot will depend upon how he does. If he explodes week one, then it will really change things up. He could be considered a future star, comparably worthy to Davis.

If he is ordinary, then I would imagine he is just a cog. Each WR will have good weeks, they'll all be difficult for FF, but Matthews will be the most sound.

He is their big play WR. They're loaded so he should get favorable matchups to take someone deep each week.

I'm really hoping for a big week one for him.

Davis is antsy, but Mularkey was warning that he won't be able to get him a full practice like he wanted. As of now, Davis could even sit week one nevermind play a limited role. When I say one week for Taylor, I am guessing Davis can contribute meaningfully by week two. It might be longer. Taylor has a real huge opportunity while Davis is out. It just sort of goes away and becomes muddled when he returns

The Titans play the Raiders week one, so I can see a scenario where both teams may be passing a lot and I think the Raiders are still looking for defensive backs, or should be, so possible Taylor has some big plays.

The next 3 weeks are Jacksonville, Seattle and Houston. So maybe some slug fest type games there.
