I wish I knew what the NFL rules were on stealing "future contracts" players. He got 400k to go from "futures contract" to regular playerWell here's a what the what...Antwaun Woods supposedly got a raise
It'll be the Rams if his ego can handle being next to Aaron DonaldSuh not meeting with the Raiders.
Looks like it’s down to Titans, Rams,Saints
That’d be quite a formidable defensive line. It'll be the Rams if his ego can handle being next to Aaron Donald
He must be one of the first to have played in both system to make it to DC (I know he is HC, but still)One of the interesting things that was said was Vrabel is trying to create a defense that uses Belichick and Lebeau's theories, principles, and.... everything. Sounds great right? Two hall of famers? The interesting point was "people have been trying to do that for decades."
That is oh so true in the copycat NFL.
Is he wise enough? Will he fall flat on his face? I hadn't thought of that before
I think I'm going to need some context here...Randall was a superb athlete, I still think one of the best athletes to ever play in the NFL. He once punted the ball 91 yards. When he was young though, the Eagles would call a fourth down play (from an awkward point on the field where it's too far for a field goal like 40ish yard line) and if no one was open, he'd punt. He had a couple second to look for the first down completion and then nope, punt.
Mariota was an excellent soccer player. I don't think he's the athlete Randall was but he could sure motor like Randall and apparently kick the ball. I think the Titans should do this 5-6 times a year when they have that awkward field position. A pooched punt from the 40 probably goes to the 20. It's better than nothing.
Mariota grew up playing soccer and would hold his own playing against many D1 talent high school players. I'm not saying replace Succup or Kern, I just mean for the handful of plays he can probably pooch it
40 yard line, 4th and 7, down 5 in the early fourth quarter. Just far enough that it's too far for Succup.I think I'm going to need some context here...
Option B would require a lot of special teams training for the starters. And like most trick plays I could see it work once.40 yard line, 4th and 7, down 5 in the early fourth quarter. Just far enough that it's too far for Succup.
Option A-Punt and hope for a coffin corner or if not it goes to the twenty
Option B- Mariota snap it, see if anyone's open for the first, if not then pooch it
This is a guy hoping to improve his status in the NFL and a possible cut. They won't keep four guards and he was one of the worst rated guards in football the last two years. Talent and ability are there, some experience too, so it's something of a 'show us what you can do' type add.East Coast Bias said:Added another guard. Xavier Su'a-Filo who played the last 4 years with Houston.
East Coast Bias said:Gabbert signed.
Gabbert has five wins since his trade from the Jags to 49'ers. Five wins in four seasons (19 starts).![]()
Better than Cassell I guess but not the upgrade I wanted.
I like that! There was more talk of a fullback at the owners meeting. He was asked if he still couldn't find one and said they found a few and smiled.
It seems more n more that they will have a fullback.
During Henry Lewis talk he also mentioned that both backs have worked better with a fullback than without. Lewis primarily ran without one but this is when he freelances and they don't want that. He said unless you're Barry, you run where we tell you. That's when injuries happen and we lose yardage
We probably need to trade a tight end for a 7th or somesuch. Post Mularkey we probably won't need as many. If Vrabel/Lafleur like Kelly as an extra TE then we definitely won'tCan Clive Walford block?
Probably not given that he was cut yday by the Raiders
I hadn't noticed they added Luke Stocker in December - in that case either Supernaw or sandwich is a gonerWe probably need to trade a tight end for a 7th or somesuch. Post Mularkey we probably won't need as many. If Vrabel/Lafleur like Kelly as an extra TE then we definitely won't
He can be effective in both but I think he's better in the slot.“Team speed is something that is important,” Vrabel said. “There is an ability, a balance between speed and size and maybe athleticism. But I think we’d always look to make sure we are getting faster at every position to be able to play and compete at this level.
“But I watched Rishard get a screen pass against Seattle, which is a fast defense, and he either ran by them or through them, and scored (on a 55-yard) touchdown. So that is encouraging.”
Wyatt quoted Vrabel saying that.
The Texans had two WRs that killed us deep with their speed. It's not even clear that they could do anything other than run blazingly fast straight ahead and we still got burned. Obviously Vrabel was at those games.
Sooooo let's read too much into this![]()
Titans looking to trade Rishard? Move him to the slot and get Taywan's speed outside? Whaddya think?
I think at some point you always going to want to have a Sandwich around.I hadn't noticed they added Luke Stocker in December - in that case either Supernaw or sandwich is a goner
I wonder if he can beat out Nate Palmer. He's more of a good special teams guy than a starter. He was a UDFA because he was too slow yet a good strong tackler. He played some last year and that was pretty much how he did- good strong tackler but a step slowAdded ILB Will Compton on a 1 year deal.
I haven't followed ST closely (or rather not at all) - did the two guys the Titans signed last year work out as hoped?I wonder if he can beat out Nate Palmer. If this guy's uniform pic is actual, then I don't mind it https://twitter.com/davidpwoodsAll the uniform leaks I see are the same ones I saw last summer. Individuals aren't even removing the graphic designer's logo on the mockup. I don't think any are an actual leak
Not sure who ya mean. They signed UDFAs that didn't make the team. Ochi was signed several times like onto PS and off. Ragin III was an Oregon LB I liked. He was too small. Supposedly he has an invite for this year if he bulks up. Other than being friends with Mariota that would seem like a brush off. I haven't heard his name in months so I'm still thinking brush off.I haven't followed ST closely (or rather not at all) - did the two guys the Titans signed last year work out as hoped?

Carraway and Brown you know
oh yeah, the special teamers. One safety one LB. They don't really play DI think they signed two guys (from the Raiders) last summer to three year contracts IIRC
