**Titans at Colts**(-3.5, 42.5) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Not really sure why Levis was benched. Rudolph hasn't really been any better. Not like it matters anyway.

I think the Colts defense does a good job shutting down the Titans offense and allowing Richardson and Taylor to stay in control on the ground. Josh Downs has a great matchup if the Colts pass enough, against 5th round rookie Jason Brownlee in the slot.

Colts-28
Titans-14

McCreary is the starting slot CB.
ATM Jarvis Brownlee is not starting for the first time in a long time. He's been fantastic this year. He's been complimented by a few elite WRs too.

Some of the stats for CBs this year are new and I've noticed he went from top-7th to 47th-51st. The Titans didn't allow 4000 yards or some absurd amount for that to happen.

The non-new PFR yards allowed stat has him at 420 yards for the season. Computer Cowboy has him with quite favorable stats on his charts.

He's outstanding as a press corner. Smothering and fun to watch type effort.

The Titans replaced safeties (4) and eventually they "handoffs" weren't working smoothly and both CBs would be looking around like umm where's the safety?

In zone, he's been going too far out of his zone and when a 2nd WR comes underneath, he's in a bad position to recover.

He's got some learning to do but he's been an absolute steal.

I'm guessing he's a sub this week

I thought I'd read somewhere that Brownlee was starting inside, and that McCreary wouldn't be starting. Which seemed weird to me as McCreary is their best CB in my opinion, so I assumed maybe he was nursing an injury or something.

Thanks for the correction. I do think Downs can beat any Titans CB 1-1 (he's an elite WR against man) and also good against zone. We'll see if Richardson is called upon much this week.

Reactions: Bri
The Titans fell apart a few weeks ago and have been worse n worse. The hope is Rudolph doesn't make them look like the pushover worst of the NFL type they've been the last few weeks. They battled much of the year with everyone and would often lose in the 4th Q. It's been bad lately.

The Colts have always curiously not used Taylor a ton against the Titans. It used to be billed as Henry versus Taylor and then pfff he didn't get much work.

Earlier this year, Taylor was out but the Colts struggled to move the Titans DL. They'll surely be better prepared for Sweat now. Sermon only had 29 yards but Goodson subbed in and had some nice third down back type runs for 51 yards.
The Titans were ahead. Callahan wanted the win and tried to hold on with the most boring second half offense Then Levis became a meme again. Flacco was more than happy to take what was given and pull out the win. Levis only had 95 yards.

The Titans were taught well by Vrabel and co to contain athletic QBs and generally do better than most against them. I'm curious how they'll do against Richardson.

Richardson has made some dopey plays himself so I'm also wondering about that.

The Colts run game should be the key and could give them the W. Teams eliminated usually hold up well against the run then sort of fold as the game wears on. Colts gotta try to push that button.

The Titans are probably on their fifth and seventh ILB this year. Every fan wanted to see preseason darling James Williams and we did finally last week for about a half. He was in a hurry to be out of position at first, then settled down nicely. His 40 time was 4.6 but he flew around the field and even chased Chase down. What's his true speed?

Murray has been good in coverage this year but he's allowed some real key receptions that overshadow how he's played.

Their fifth safety is starting and he doesn't "play well with others" and there's always pointing and ya know someone was out of position. I hope he gets comfy quick and they all sync up.

Flacco would have his way with the new faces over the middle of the field and not care that the outside corners are talented. He'd take his time and methodically move down the field. Can Richardson play a simple slowed down poised type game? It's there for the taking.

Darrell Baker has been great for the Titans. He was cut by the Colts at the end of camp and huge swing and a miss by them. As their GM has fallen out of favor, Colts fans seem to have extra venom for letting a good player go to a rival. He's 27, started 8 played in 14 and only allowed 289 yards.

This feels like the least rivalry type game in such a long time. The Colts need to get out to a lead before these two "remember" and things get feisty and all.

I don't have Taylor but I'd be having a WDIS issue with him.
If there was a great alternative then I'd go away from him, otherwise (despite the history) I'd start my studs and he'd be in my lineup.

History aside, there's lots inviting them to run him "til his legs fall off."

Denard Wilson has been a magician of a DC and the Titans still have the top pass defense. For me- have Richardson attack them? Or run Taylor? That added to stuff I mentioned above...I lean towards he plays great not another meh game.
To each their own, but he's a DFS guy for me this week.

Look at stat muse link and make your own opinion. That's mine

Hey Bri….

Any thoughts on Pollard/Spears usage? Trying to decide if Pollard is an option for me today

Not to speak for @Bri, but Pollard is trending toward playing, but is gimpy with an ankle. I have a feeling Spears is the beter play. I think the Titans are going to be trailing all day and the Colts are going to tee off on the rush, so Spears may get a lot of dump off touches today.

I don't think I'd start him.
Too worried of Pollard and then Chestnut has always been a possible "let's see how he looks" guy.
I see the appeal with Pollard's ankle but he's been a trooper for a good long while now. Pollard limped near halftime and didn't really come out a lot til closer to the end.

Rudolph is one of those everyone says has no arm but he's always made the deep throw when he needed to. He dinks and dunks often so ya know where the arm questions come from. That and Callahan's obsession with screens...I could definitely see Spears or Pollard having a day here.

I always go with my studs and emphatically tell myself that in the playoffs. I wouldn't start Spears. I'd start Pollard. I'm ok being wrong.

Another way I think of it is I imagine myself remembering this week next summer. How would I describe what happened? I won't be saying "I decided to start Spears and bench Pollard that got me there."

To each their own- again I can imagine the appeal- but for me, that appeal is for DFS

Murray and Reese are starting but sounds like walking wounded type so idk how much Williams and Gray will play.
It's a good sign for trying to win but otherwise I don't see the point. Very capable backups the team is curious about sooo just play them

Folk is out and Narveson is kicking.
Folk has been excellent. Narveson had a great camp but Folk was perfect. Narveson went to GB, got the kicking job, then cut.
This is his next opportunity.

Folk is 40 but weeks ago he finished a streak of not missing for like a year. I have no idea if he'll retire or keep playing in 2025. He probably has the choice with surprisingly great accuracy.

Folk had been good in NEP and then wasn't and seemed to be done but the Titans were lucky to add him and he felt something to prove n all.

Fantastic punt earlier to the one. Then a linebacker put his hands on Simmons rear amidst a hard count and he jumped offsides.

I know football players tap each other like waitresses yell behind, coming on the right etc and it's all in the good natured working together spirit but the timing of that was awful

Latu looks like a schoolboy when he looks up at the camera in all white uniform.
How old is he?

Some former K 100 years ago wasn't very good as an announcer and only worked a year or so. Matt Bahr? Norwood? I don't remember.

I do remember him saying how much emphasis coaches put on the new K first XP and that if they put it down the middle then coach feels ok about the day but if it's near the goalpost then they're hesitant.

Narveson just almost missed an XP

Downs with a run
Richardson keeper
This is what I was saying. This should be a feed the beast drive and they're not feeding Taylor.
They're so odd against the Titans.

Sweat poked in eye, down on field, going to commercial

Sweat's eye swollen shut.

Taylor's thumb (not mean spirited) probably scratched his eye. That quick shut down usually indicates that.

Richardson with dumb pass for INT. Ya can't not see the pro bowl S. That was easy looking

First Q about to end and I feel like that was Spears first carry.

It came after an emphatic "I can be a big back" run by Pollard so maybe he needed a breather

Kick smidge to the right and no good. Ugh.

If Sweat isn't in there it becomes more odd if the Colts don't feed the beast

Taylor run
Taylor run
Fake pitch to Taylor, big run by Richardson
Taylor run
Get the OL out wide and Richardson follow them for short TD.

This is what they CAN do. They just don't.
Also clearly Steichen reads this forum 😉

Callahan got too happy with the deep passes

Colts got ball back.
No Sweat- put a blocker smidge behind line like h-back to smash Sweat's replacement and then Taylor was just off to the races for a long TD

They've fallen apart.

Stupid INT by Rudolph that announcers called Levis like.

Titans let Downs run for TD after the catch thinking he was out of bounds.

I thought they'd give Callahan a mulligan because of Levis but...this 💯 looks like a team that the whole staff gets fired.

Callahan has to get back in this game or appear to be for his job.

If so-
I love Denard Wilson and I don't mind the concept of promoting him. Just don't lose him

Put every sub in.
Everyone with their helmet off looks beat. They should look like hurt pride angry type.

Last few weeks has been "let's see what Chig can do" but he's not new and...it just makes me question the coach

Announcers claiming Gray playing well when Taylor has a thousand yards rushing and he tackles Sermon six yards from the LOS

Play of the day was definitely the Hooker INT. It was so ugh that the Colts went to running the ball
