Titans Backfield (1 Viewer)

I dumped White earlier this offseason in the two dynasties in which I owned him.

I gave him for the 1.06 rookie in a ppr.

I gave him and 2.11 for Santana Moss and 3.10 in a different ppr.

In hindsight I might not have done the Moss trade because there were some pretty nice players there at 2.11, but White was definitely on my sell list and he's currently on my avoid list. The phrase "eminently replaceable" sums him up nicely. If he doesn't boost that YPC average, I just don't see him lasting as a significant contributor. There are too many good backs in the NFL for someone to remain a starter year-to-year with a 3.6 YPC average.

Could playing on a torn mcl have something to do with the low ypc?
Not medial collateral ligament, but a meniscus (cartilage) that ultimately needed arthroscopic surgery. Whether that contributed to the low YPC, I doesn't know. But I watched him quite a bit last season, and I would definitely categorize him a "plodder." More Stacey Mack than Jerome Bettis.

Few things here...-why do you think Fisher is dying to replace him once he gets a better option? Because they failed on a pick with Henry and then drafted a guy who is quite different than White?-Id laugh because KJ is no threat in this offense with Fisher to steal carries from LW. Nor do I think that guy will ever really be healthy.-as for when they were behind? week 2 vs. Indy...down 19-6 White gets two carries...one on a 1st down, one on 2nd down...they turn it over on downs. Indy turns it over...Fisher gives it twice to White starting at the 8 and he scores. Later down 22-13 in the 4th quarter more running with Lendale (and Chris Brown). Drive led to a TD that got them within 2 late in the game. That was not the only time it happened either. And that was a week after Chris Brown tore up Jax D.Not sure how a guy who you know is going to get carries is a weekly kill (especially for where he will be drafted for the most part)-I don't think the team is looking to "upgrade". I think the team has been looking to compliment him with someone a bit quicker who is more of a threat out of the backfield. The two guys you mentioned were brought in to get to know as an insurance policy if Johnson does not look ready and if Henry does not improve.

- Because he keeps trying to. Fisher talked about needing to upgrade RB all offseason leading up to the draft. Then they drafted yet another high round RB, and they just kicked the tires on Jones & Dayne.- If they did sign Kevin Jones, he would absolutely be a threat to LenDale's carries. This is some serious denial.

- You pointed to one situation when they were behind. I covered the Titans for a month straight later in the season, and every time they got down, White came out of the game for Brown or Henry. This was especially true when Haynesworth was out with an injury and the defense fell off significantly. See weeks 10 thru 13 when his high carry total was 13.

- He's a weekly kill because he needs a ton of carries consistently to maintain value. When you're not involved in the passing game, and you get taken out of the game when your team is trailing, you're too risky to rely on weekly. For dynasty leaguers, this is especially true since he could see his role drop off at any time.

- I'm sure you didn't think the Steelers were looking to upgrade on Parker either. Ditto the Vikes with Chester Taylor or the Raiders with LaMont Jordan. White is not a special back. He's a replaceable plodder whose best asset is an ability to take carries in a tight game to try to control the time of possession battle. He could lose his job at a moment's notice.

Again, for basic-scoring redraft leagues, I could see wanting to have him on your roster. For PPR leagues, yardage leagues, or dynasty leagues, I wouldn't touch the guy.

I drafted LW at 4.07 in my rookie/WW draft last year and he helped me out quite a bit when LJ and RBrown went out with injuries. He wasn't great but he was a good fill in.

He was put in and out of the lineup and had some frustratingly low scores.

I will hold on to him for the first few weeks of the upcoming season in hopes that he will turn it around. My hopes are high but my expectations are low. I don't think he cost me much and he probably doesn't have much trade value in my ten team dynasty right now anyway.

He is like my 1991 4-Runner; worth a lot more to me than someone else!!!!

- Fisher is not the GM. He has some player personnel responsibility now...but in the end, it is not totally up to him. Saying he needs to upgrade is not the same thing as saying he is trying to get rid of White. They were not all that excited about having to bring Chris Brown back and have been looking to compliment White. IMO, that failed last year with Henry.- Kevin Jones has how many carries the last few years? With a totally different running style that does not seem to mesh with the Titans philosophy at all. Denial? As a Packer fan I know what Jones can do. He is not a great between the tackles runner and is fragile (two things that do not go well with Jeff Fisher type football)

- I pointed out the first one I came to...it took me looking at one game (because I knew they were not really playing from behind in the opening game against Jax.

- The thing is...he will keep getting a ton of carries. I don't see that changing. There are plenty of backs out there that do not get involved in the passing game yet are still good plays. I agree for dynasty owners he is a risky play at this point. For redraft this year he will be a solid RB2/RB3.

- Steelers...no, I was surprised at that one. Oakland not so much...nor Minny given the guys they drafted. Much different than a change of pace guy in Johnson or bringing in a retread like Dayne or KJ. His strength is pounding the D line with a bunch of carries...moving the pile forward...not losing yards, not getting hurt and giving Fisher the ball control that he wants.
