**TNF on Prime - Falcons at Buccaneers**(-5.5, 43.5) FF Playoffs Kickoff at 8:15 - Let's GO!!! (1 Viewer)

Bucs getting booed off the field. I'm not a fan of that.
Love it.

They earned it.

Fans gotta hold the players accountable.

Can’t be going “get em next time” after an epic collapse like this in a game they really needed.

Against a team that had 474 penalties.
How exactly does that hold them accountable to the fans?

They're accountable to the Glazer family and no one else.

What a game!
Just a FF bonanza. If you had Pitts, you’re very likely winning your playoff game.

The only thing that sucked for me is my opponent had 32.5 with Cousins. SF and they just happened to have him.
It's definitely a start but I know how these things can go south quick. I went from 39% chance to win to now 66% chance to win.
Oh yeah - my 16 teamer is a start-22 (11/11) big play IDP. Points can be had in bunches.

That said, my opponent started Egbuka & I’ve got 77 between Pitts & Dean.

It’s a great start.

Falcons probably will pull a nice pick for Cousins now in the off season, recoup a little bit for that missing 1st
Or he'll just go into 2026 as the starter. Penix is no lock for week 1.
This is what I’m thinking. Cousins has looked significantly more competent.

I highly doubt it without him restructuring or taking a paycut (which is not in Cousins vocabulary). 51MM cap number, 35MM non guaranteed base salary. Their short on cap space and Pitts is a FA and London will be on his 5th year option. Bijan will be on year 4 of 5 and looking for an extension as well. Cousins may have looked good tonight but he was completely shutdown by Seattle last week (understandable) but also lost to the Jets the week before (inexcusable.) Time to move on and get out from under that awful contract they gave him

Well, called the Falcons upset. Obviously surprised to the extent of what Pitts did, but TBs awfulness against TEs and especially RBs who catch, has been there most of the season. Keep that mind for week 17 when they play Miami, could be a scary big Achane game.

Funny watching some talking heads crucifying the Bucs for not "running to kill the clock" late. GOtta be honest...defense had been porous, Atlanta was already well over 300 yards passing when TB got the ball late. With where the clock was and the timeouts, they HAD to get a first down. When the first run went for -4 yards....I had zero issue with throwing. I KNEW they would lose if they didn't get a first down.

What would the Falcons record be if Cousins started all year?
Not any better. Cousins has been bad mostly. Penix is a better QB. Cousins had one great game last year too.
I don't think I could disagree with this more. Cousins>>>Penix. While their raw stats look somewhat similar, and in some stats favor Penix, their tape tells a very different story. Also of note, Cousins has played without Drake London. London has been out for all 5 of Cousins starts.

Penix had been extremely lucky with INT's. He threw 3 but had like 8 dropped. Cousins has had no such luck, anything that could have picked off has, so while they both have 3 INTs and Penix has almost 100 more attempts, Cousins has done a much better job of taking care of the ball. Cousins has also been the victim of multiple big drops, where Penix really wasn't (that's probably tied to London a bit) Cousins has been more accurate, gotten the ball out slightly quicker, and made better decisions. If Penix did anything better, its he's been more likely to use his legs, though that's probably gone with another ACL injury.

If Cousins were the Falcons starter all year, I think they'd be probably 7-7 and competing to win this division. I think they beat TB in week 1 with Cousins, I think they beat the Colts in London with Cousins. I'm not confident there is a game Penix wins that Cousins wouldn't have (a game they won because of Penix) Penix had a good game against Washington, but pretty much very QB does, hell we just saw McCarthy have one. I'm not saying Penix sucks (he has more bad than good on tape though) but Cousins is still a decent to good QB in my eyes.

I was optimistic about Penix headed into this season. That dissolved quickly watching him play.

Cannon for an arm. Not a great processor. Cannot make all the throws.

This is a massively incorrect statement. Penix is nowhere near Cousins level, and it’s not just based on 1 game.

Completely agree with this.

I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere in these 10-11 pages, but how awesome were those uniforms last night? Classic Dirty Birds versus the creamsicle Bucs of the 80's. Brought me back to playing football in the backyard with my brothers and neighbor kids. Gerald Riggs and William Andrews versus Lee Roy Selmon and James Wilder. :headbang:

Sills gettin roasted for the non-TD.

He made up for it with that ridiculous catch in the 4th, but this play is still mystifying. Dean had fallen down, and Sills was wiiiiiiiiide open. lmao
It looked like he "overthought" the catch because he was so wide open. He turned his hands in the opposite direction he had them just as the ball arrived.

Just an ugly drop. And Kirk WTF wasn't letting him off the hook for it, which I kind of liked. I also liked that he didn't do the "my bad" routine, because it was pretty obvious it was all on him.
