*** TNF on Prime Video - L.V. Raiders at L.A. Rams (+6.5, 44.5) *** (1 Viewer)

Firing it up a little early
Lot of folks are starting playoffs this week in their redrafts and other leagues

Auto Starts like Adams and Jacobs who I assume is healthy enough to play again on a short week? I thought Jacobs was fighting thru an injury but maybe I don't have that right.
Moreau feels like a dangerous roll of the dice at TE but then again who isn' these days? Can the Rams limit Adams and force Carr to throw to others more often?

Who are you going to start from the Rams?

Tough to start any Rams right now. Maybe Higbee but only because the tight end position is a vast wasteland right now after the less than handful of obvious starts.
This is suddenly a big game for The Raiders. Continue their win streak and they are in the playoff hunt entering the final month of the season. Their offense is playing lights out and thier defense while not great is much improved over the early part of the season. Crosby and Jones are getting pressure consistently. The Rams are a hot mess and the game is in L.A. so the stands will be a mass of silver and black. I think visiting teams get an extra rush when they see their fans take over another teams home park. Throw all that into a big tumbler, shake it up and out pops...

Raida's- 31
Rams-13

He was fighting a calf last week. One presumes similarly this week.

Closer than people think because the Raiders are probably below or right about at average, all things considered. They're not blowing teams out. Aaron Donald is listed as out on MFL, though, so apparently he won't de disrupting everything inside.

Raiders -24
Rams -20

Rams +6 at home. They mailed it in long ago, but this will be their swan song, vs the Raiders on "National/Prime" TV. There should still be enough pride from the super depleted Champs to not allow the Raiders to come in and roll them. Too many points.

And LOL @ thinking there's any sort of advantage from Raiders fans that will make some difference in the game. Welcome to SoFi Stadium, and 20222, you're not affecting the game, Raiders fans, Halloween outfits or not.

If Jacobs is a go, Vegas smash. 27-10

If Jacobs is a no go, a lot tighter but still a W. Raiders 19-10
The Rams run D still has some fight. Add to the face that Jacobs is banged up and on a short week…his numbers may not be what you’ll expect.

I dumped Moreau last night for Hunter Henry, mainly because my other TE is Everett and I could start him but I wanted to keep my options open, hate to go big on Thursday night game that is mostly garbage for the two teams although I would argue a strong Raiders surge end of season will save a lot of jobs.

McVay and the Rams are World Champs still, nothing bad is happening to them right now. Not a huge motivation for them in this game.

Likely starting Carlson
No expectations for the Rams but...
I do think Cam Akers could see similar action to last week.
The WRs are a hot mess but someone is likely to push thru and produce a score and 50-60 yds tonight.

I moved Moreau to the bench this week too. Not comfortable banking on him with limited usage & a Thursday night game. Watch him go off and have a career game.

Regardless of how we might feel about Baker Mayfield, if they let him start, his energy is going to be thru the roof.
He's not good and he kind of lacks maturity but maybe McVay can take some of that energy and turn it into some sort of offense for them.
Maybe Baker will just tuck it and run some fo the time, he's not that fast but move the sticks, eat up time. Rams were close last week to pulling off an upset.

True, I meant not a good look in perceived tanking. They just signed him a few days ago and he hasn’t really practiced at all. Maybe he gets a few snaps, but starting or a large role probably wouldn’t sit well around the league. If Wolford is out, must say a lot about how bad Perkins is.

I view that differently than you, let me share. I think it speaks volumes that they would go ahead and let a former No 1 pick overall try and right his career and the Rams ship in 2022, nothing to lose and I do understand your POV but I think it means they are trying to avoid tanking. They don't want Detroit taking the No 2 overall pick in the Draft if they can avoid it.
At the same time, the Rams don't really care. They have a Lombardi trophy, Kroenke the owner is happy as can be, everything worked out and they won it in their home stadium to top it all off. They aren't suffering the same way we are that invested in their skill players.
Good post, I just view that thru a different lens

The Rams tanking helps them in the draft. Pick 2.02 is almost like a 1st rounder, and 3.02 like a 2nd rounder. And 3 5th rounders and 4 6th rounders. Richardson and Hooker could be in play if Stafford retires.

I'm likely going Moreau over Henry this week in his swan song game before Waller returns. Might have gone the other way if Henry hadn't disappeared last week. I know he get the TE funnel cards but...

Exactly, they're magicians and they will figure out a way to manufacture the draft picks they need, even if they have to part with a player or two in order to bring down some cap relief and infuse the team with new blood.

We haven't discussed this for Miami but they still sit on a 2nd and a 3rd and another 3rd from New England, the tampering 3rd we lose is in '24.
Back to the '23 picks, I can see Miami perhaps trading a player in order to acquire more picks, I see more rookies and even 2nd year players that will fill up more of the team next year as we'll be a little top heavy when we first approach the off season.

Wolford is questionable.
McVay has always had a thing for Baker per Darlington... so is it love for Baker outweighing Perkins who knows their system since he's been in it since 2020 or is it Perkins ability? That's a good question.

Cam Akers anyone?

Coming in around RB 25, that's a borderline low end RB2 depending on league size and length of season but he's around in some leagues.

if Mayfield plays i'll watch.

might be the most entertaining Thursday Night game of the season.

what's the record for most interceptions in a game?

Is it crazy to me to think that Baker starting on a short week where he joined the team Tuesday is an epic trainwreck waiting to happen? I mean I know he's a professional QB but he can't possibly be expected to run an offense having only seen the playbook for 2 days with minimal practice reps.

It's not crazy. But then again, he is playing the Raiders...

Which means 'sacking while a Raider' penalties will be in play to extend drives and overturn fumbles and pick sixxes, especially if the game is anywhere near close in the second half.

It's not a very good fantasy D but if there was ever a week it seems like this one so I picked up the Raiders Team D in a few places last night. All of those places I have the Vikings D which just reported several starters out with an illness yesterday so went looking for a secondary option. Not 100% sure I'm going to use the Raiders, but I can tell you if I do I'll be pulling for Baker to play.

Crosby gonna eat. There will be (at least) one mind-bogglingly terrible interception, too.

I'll say Raiders 27, Rams 14

Wonder if we'll see Mayfield tonight? I'm expecting a slow, long possessions type of game.

I'll say Foster Moreau for 1st TD.

Raiders are never in an easy game
Even if they come out blazing and are up by 38 points , the lead is precarious at best

I see the end score 41 to 35 Raiders (i joke of course)

I can't believe they're really starting Mayfield.

I have the Las Vegas D in one league because of this game, but I never thought Mayfield would be starting. LOL. Gotta love it.

Just read Wolford is taking snaps as the starter in pregame.
