I will say, Sam Darnold has shown that he is not a bad quarterback. He’s a great thrower of the football and he’s tough and seems like a good teammate. He’s way better than he was with the Jets or the Panthers.

But, he simply does not have the “it“ it takes to be a killer NFL quarterback. He just doesn’t have that aggressiveness or sense of the moment or something.

He seems like if AI created a quarterback that was super competent, but totally uninteresting to watch.
A half dozen teams would kill to have that behind center right now.

Darnold is playing himself into a 3 or 4 year deal somewhere this offseason.

Vikes got completely jobbed.

We have the technology to get the call correct every single time.

What are we even doing here? Why play a game for 60 mins just to blow the game-winning/losing play.
Fitzpatrick predicts expansion of what can be reviewed. I predict AI will eventually replace much officiating. The technology is already available. My daughter in LA had a Serve Robot deliver a meal to her apartment through Uber Eats. Robotic officials should be easy.

Even if they Young didn't get the facemask (which he did) . I thought grabbing the QB shoulder pad and bouncing his head of the turf would be considered a horse-caller.

You can horse collar a qb while he’s in the pocket, and it’s legal.

NFL rules make no sense
Thanks. I didn't know that.
As a lions fan, I learn all kinds of weird wonky nfl rules that make no sense when they happen to my team

Really wonder if the Lions exposed Flores defense a bit.

Outstanding game from Puka, I was shocked he played so much (more than Kupp I believe) and looked 100%. People who bought low look like geniuses right now.

I will add there are few things in football that annoy me more than when a team in the 4th quarter up by 1 or 4, kick an XP after a TD. That should be a 2-pt try 100% of the time. Its basic math and probability. You miss the 2pt try, no biggie you are still up by 7 or 10. You get it, you are up by 9 or 12, and its a completely different game.

just to simplify, let's analyze the 1 point lead, and assume that the trailing team will score the touchdown and that the leader going up by two possessions effectively wins the game. also assume all XPs are makes and 2-pt try is 50/50 shot

2 pt try - 50% go up by two possessions and winning, 50% fail and go to overtime (this also assumes the trailing team will take the XP and not go for 2).
1 pt try - take the eight point lead, now the pivot is if the opponent makes the 2-pt try. 50% it fails, we win the game, 50% they make it, go to overtime

it seems the two outcomes are exactly the same. any flaws with my work?

I'm starting to lean into the Rams tonight, have we gotten a sure fire BOTH WRs in uniform tonight and expected to play?
Kupp-Nacua-Kyren Williams-Stafford is a different Rams team
Still have a lot of respect for the Vikings and they have made me money this season

Rams lose tonight and its pretty much end of season vs a win and get to 3-4, you're almost even at .500 and can look towards the 2nd Half of the season
Wildcard team last season
yeah yeah yeah

It's like literally tackling someone who's about to attempt a half-court shot, and then not calling anything because "he probably wouldn't have made the shot." Dumb logic. Call it and make him hit the three free-throws.

The missed penalty didn't matter.
The "Lion Effect" is unbeaten
The Vikes would not have scored anyway
How would you know the Vikings would not score? Yes unlikely but the Minneapolis miracle was also unlikely.
I know because "The Lion Effect" is perfect this year.
No team has won the week after playing The Lions.
It was perfect going into Thursday Night
It is perfect coming out of Thursday Night.

I think it’s time that the Lions and their fans win the SB so they celebrate something real rather than stupid superstitious **** like this.

Meh, with the hold it's more like a guy getting foulded after getting open on a moving screen and then refs eating the whistle cuz he missed any way.

It makes sense to me. You're allowed to bring a guy down from behind who's just standing there. You can't try to drag a guy down running 15+ mph from behind.

Superstitions are myths and fabels that exist in peoples minds
Teams losing after they play The Lions is a fact.
You can look it up.
EVERY team that has played The Lions has lost their next game...that's a FACT...not a superstition

Correlation is not causation. But I am wasting my breath here. You're right. Have fun.
