**TNF on Prime Video - Patriots at Jets** (-6.5, 38.5) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

How many games Pats gonna keep rolling out Brissett? One more would be my choice max.

How does it help Maye's development to get his *** kicked every time he drops back...if they had a solid line it would be very soon but right now what does he get out of playing?
You have the two paths. Let them sit and learn. Let him play and learn. I lean you let them play and learn. Just my opinion. I will say, it can backfire. The Joey Harrington experience comes to mind. He got wrecked, but that Lions team was historically bad.

I don't disagree with this philosophy in normal circumstances...BUT...the Pats O line is so bad (and the offensive weapons are very limited) I don't think he will learn anything other than getting his butt kicked...I do think he will play this year but the room for error of rolling him out in week 4 and getting destroyed for 14 weeks is just too large to screw with...especially since this team is going absolutely nowhere.

The Patriots have the most cap space in 2025. They should get a couple of FA olinemen, and draft one. Brissett has limited upside but he doesn't throw INTs and would probably win more games than Maye, which is bad for their draft capital. I think Maye should get some game action later in the year.

Regardless of who plays this year I don't think they are winning too many games and I really don't see Jacoby being the reason if they do win...because they don't need to draft a QB it's not as big of a deal if they draft #2 or #5...I do think Maye will get in later this year but they are better off with Jacoby taking the beating for a good chunk of the year...although I would not be surprised to see Maye get in earlier because Jacoby gets hurt...that is just a matter of time with the hits he is taking.

I was looking for you, just wanted to tell you that everything you wrote about the Patriots having bigger issues than QB, you're correct and I watched them tonight, nobody is making lemonade back there with that OL, the Jets were almost in his face from the second he got the ball and he's taken some big hits tonight

Appreciate you listing all the issues the other day and tonight much of what you were posting, i can see it with my own eyes.
Not sure when it will be a good time for Maye, still like what Jared Mayo is doing so far with what he has to work with
I thought this was a team that might play like they did the previous couple weeks, it's hard to understand how they beat Cinci and pushed Seattle into OT

Right now it is a pure talent issue and that's not changing and now that there is two games of film on them they will be exposed...that being said and as you point out I like what I see with Mayo as a HC so far and as long as Maye is the real deal I do see a quicker path to being good than I thought I would at this point of the rebuild although it is still early...they will have a ton of $ and another draft to plug some monster holes on offense...on D they are actually pretty good and will hopefully be adding Barmore to budding studs in White and Gonzalez...just gonna have to take a lot of beatings this season.

If Maye leads a TD drive here, do we have a bit of a controversy, or is this just a get some reps situation?

Looks like he is in...Talk Radio is praying to the Football Gods he looks really good right now...would make for a lot of entertainment for the next week.

Overall he has been getting 30% of the starter's reps in practice so something like this makes a ton of sense.

So the Pats scored all of 3 points, which came on a drive where the Jets committed 50 yards worth of penalties.

These are the Pats we were expecting to see going into the season.

I don't think Hall is bad, he is good, but Allen looks so much more explosive.. Like he could take it to the house any time.
Never seen a top 3 pick be in a timeshare this fast
I was watching the game thinking that this might be like an Aaron Jones situation but with an actual competent back as the 40% guy.

Breece still looks like a special player to me. He's sneaky good. Waldman had it nailed right from the jump- his vision, moves and explosiveness look effortless. And the ability to run routes and be explosive in the passing game is really top tier. My main hesitation is that the coaching staff might see super short yardage and start putting Allen out there but to my relief (at least short term), they didn't and I'm hoping that sticks, as I think it should.

Allen isn't as unique a talent but has a physicality and burst that's hard to deny. At the end of the day, football is a physical game and he brings so much physicality. He's not a fun guy to tackle.

WTF is this about?

It looks like Rodgers is not pushing him away, just showing him what it's like to experience a high level QB succeeding on his team
To me it looks more like, "This is just the beginning so no hugs yet"
I don’t see that. AR looks pretty irritated
I was trying to be devil's advocate but Karl presented an excellent video that I doubt many will see, I don't think Saleh has much say/control in things like other head coaches
He was a Tight End at one of the directional Michigan schools, i think he understands the OL/DL even if those areas are not quite what they should be or should have been last year for Aaron

-I'm not very impressed with Saleh and I still think he could lose his job midstream this season if the Jets are not near the top of the AFC East
