Seriously, all a defense has to do is keep guys in front of em. Tua has zero ability to hit the deep pass/take top off defense. It’s a huge limitation to this offense

In 2022 and 2023, Tua hit many deep passes to both Waddle and Hill, who caught more deep passes from Tua than Mahomes.

What changed ... supposedly, the 2-deep safety. I think Tua is more afraid to get hit after the concussions. He also had a better oline with Armstead, Hunt, Connor Williams.

On pass plays O linemen can't be in the pattern before the ball is released.

Kinda. It's pass blocking he needs to stay within a a certain distance from the LoS, I forget how close exactly. When the defender drops back, you can't chase him until the ball has been released.

Think of it like an offensive pick. One receiver can't intentionally run into a defender covering a different receiver.
