Oh holy crap. On now? Which game? He's Al Michaels compared to what Mike Vick brings on camera. Who thought THAT was a good idea? Oof.
do you think the other color analysts don't know football? that Romo is the only one who sees coverages, etc. and calls them out?Aerial Assault said:Can't tell what's shtick in here and what's not, and don't care.
I had my issues with Tony as a QB for years but always thought he was a good guy. Now it turns out he's an encyclopedia of good insights too. His broadcasts are an absolute pleasure to listen to. Nantz is fired up again too, much like when he was divested of Packer for the NCAAs. He must have been so thrilled in both cases.
Not so sure. Esiason, Simms, Thiesmann, many others, pretty much a gang of holes who take themselves too seriously. Dan Fouts? Good guy but doesn't seem very smart. Local color like Plunkett, same thing. Steve Young? Love him but he's far from smooth and can be wordy.do you think the other color analysts don't know football? that Romo is the only one who sees coverages, etc. and calls them out?
all these guys played the game and know it cold. i don't think Romo recognizing coverages should be seen as some earth shattering thing. he was an NFL QB for a long time and just retired.
Pre-game is when I get ready for the game(s) itself. Got everything ready by 1:15, rarely miss anything big.Well they were already unwatchable.
he sounds like a local schmo at the bar who won't shut up to meNot so sure. Esiason, Simms, Thiesmann, many others, pretty much a gang of holes who take themselves too seriously. Dan Fouts? Romo doesn't. And he's relatable. Kind of an everyday-guy who knows football and can put into words what most others can't. His enthusiasm is contagious, for me anyway. And I was not a fan of his when he played.
go home furley you are drunk"they're gonna get a freebie here. under 2 minutes you get a freebie on injury... i'm sure of that....................................................................... there's going to be a 10 second runoff because they don't have any timeouts. there aren't any free timeouts under 2 minutes......................................... i think they get a freebie here because of the injury....................................... but they don't have a timeout so there's a 10 second runoff here............................................... they didn't run 10 seconds off the clock because they get a free timeout for injury under 2 minutes.......................................... someone is going to have to explain to me why they didn't run 10 second off... there aren't any freebies for injury under 2 minutes if you don't have a timeout."

great job, Tone!
Can you imagine what this guy was like in the huddle? That's not really what happened. He originally said they get a freebie but then kept on saying he doesn't understand why the wasn't a ten second runoff. He never went back and forth after that.mr. furley said:"they're gonna get a freebie here. under 2 minutes you get a freebie on injury... i'm sure of that....................................................................... there's going to be a 10 second runoff because they don't have any timeouts. there aren't any free timeouts under 2 minutes......................................... i think they get a freebie here because of the injury....................................... but they don't have a timeout so there's a 10 second runoff here............................................... they didn't run 10 seconds off the clock because they get a free timeout for injury under 2 minutes.......................................... someone is going to have to explain to me why they didn't run 10 second off... there aren't any freebies for injury under 2 minutes if you don't have a timeout."

I like both.. first time i can say that.I’m an NFC guy, but Nantz an Romo are much better than Buck and Aikman IMO.
I agree, I thought he was pretty good on the Bills vs. Jags today. I really liked how he pointed out how many throws Taylor was missing(although part of that could be coaching and play calling).I don't get the Romo hate. I think he is pretty good. He offers a lot of insight.

Nobody could figure that out in the chaos of when it happened. He was the one who mentioned on the telecast that the runoff did happen. (Now someone could have pointed that out to him in his ear, but hey.http://www.weei.com/blogs/alex-reimer/tony-romo-doesnt-impress-playoff-broadcast-debut
Throughout the bulk of the season, Romo was often well ahead of the action. But that wasn’t the case Sunday, especially in the game’s final minutes. On the Bills’ last drive, quarterback Tyrod Taylor took a vicious hit from Jacksonville defensive end Dante Fowler on third down. Taylor was knocked out and removed from the field. Buffalo’s season suddenly rested in the hands of backup Nathan Peterman, who threw five picks in his only start of the year.
Instead of focusing on that, and how the Bills would approach their most pivotal fourth down in years, Romo was strangely fixated on the 10-second runoff. At one point, Romo incorrectly asserted there would be no runoff, because the Bills would get a “freebie timeout.” But that was not the case. When Taylor left due to injury, the clock went from 1:27 to 1:17. Romo kept harping on that right until the ball was snapped, even though it was standard NFL procedure.
just like his NFL career, Romo chokes in the playoffs![]()
This is not a Battle you can winif you're Baltimore, don't give up a lotta yards on the run and you'll get better field position?
HIGH LEVEL ANALYSIS
watch right here on this play when Rivers drops back and then Allen runs a route, then he puts his foot in the ground and he turns around and the ball gets there, then he catches it and he turns around then runs, and then he makes a move and gains some more yards. This is not a Battle you can win
Who was doing good?? Are you watching the game at Tony's house or something? He was doing good today until he came unraveled after that catch/fumble/incompeletion in the Bears-Eagles game
Can't stand Collingsworth. He had the issue with everyone he's watching is the best ever at whatever they are good at. So sick of that shtick.Romo and Collinsworth are by far the best in the game right now.
Tessitore--Witten--McFarland seem like awesome dudes. But I'd still send their booth to the moon.
That and he needs a new makeup person. He always looks like he just got embalmed.Collinsworth's "Aw Shucks" persona just grates on me.
Not all cowboys are created equal.Compared to Witten Romo is a genius
