Tony Romo... Where does he rank rest of year? (1 Viewer)

So I hate to say it as a Giants fan but Tony Romo has looked damn impressive the last couple of weeks, and it could have been better if TO didn't duff that 75-yarder last week. He has put up very impressive numbers so far, and it may or may not continue through the rest of the year.

Where does the Shark Pool rank Romo vs these comparable QBs? (Excl... Peyton, Bulger & McNabb)

Matt Hasselbeck (When Healthy)

Jon Kitna

Drew Brees

Carson Palmer

Jake Delhomme

Philip Rivers

Eli Manning

... Anyone else I forgot

fantasy wise id put him behind

(excluding of course peyton, mcnabb, bulger)

brees

kitna

hasselbeck

manning

ROMO

palmer

brady

delhomme

rivers

Romo is not an automatic starter every week. He's the type of QB that can put up some decent numbers againt the right match up, but Dallas will run the ball if they can. Against teams that Dallas can run on and get the lead early, his fantasy numbers will be kept in check.

I've got him and Delhomme...I'll play the matchups and keep Romo on a short leash...but in terms of comparative value, I'd give Romo away for any of these guys...

Matt Hasselbeck (When Healthy)

Drew Brees

Carson Palmer

Eli Manning

I'd say about the same since he's comparable.Romo scares me as his numbers will be all over the map and largely dependant on which Dallas defense shows up.

He ranks 5th in my dynasty league over the last three weeks. I think he's probably a good starter from here on out but, as others have said, it's far better to selectively play him depending upon matchup.

I have been impressed and I think he is for real and makes a good start if your struggling at the QB position. Dallas runs the ball well and that helps a young QB like Romo and set's up big plays. Owens and Witten's numbers are only getting better and Crayton is now a factor (as a flex WR4 in deep leagues) with Glenn hurting.

I think he's a top 5 QB fantasy QB from here on out. Bledsoe was top 10 last year in this same offense and Romo is better and has TO.

To me, the key is the weapons around him. He has a very good running game to offset a pass rush. That and his mobility will give him more time to throw to 4 excellent weapons. I think TO has a MONSTER second half with Romo at the helm. Pretty good to be lumping him in with Hasselbeck, Palmer, Kitna, Brees and Eli after a couple starts!!! That in itself should tell you this kid is gonna be great. I say top 6-7 second half.

I really, really like what I've seen of Romo so far. Mobile, can make all the throws, good reads, and has weapons galore. What's not to like? With teams having to respect the run game, throwing to TO, Glenn, Crayton and Witten is a beautiful thing. My duo is Romo and Kitna from here on out. I'm hoping Leinart has a monster game so I can trade him.

Funny, Judge Smails and Noonan didn't seem to agree as much at Bushwood. :bye:

I have Romo and I would gladly trade him for the following QBs:

Bulger

Brees

Brady

Palmer

QBs that I would consider trading Romo for:

Kitna

Rivers

Delhomme

Eli

Favre

QBs I would NOT trade him for:

Brunell

Roethlisberger

Grossman

Plummer

Romo is the #4 overall QB in my league the past 3 weeks, and his scoring average would place him at #6 overall among QBs. I don't expect him to stay in the top-5, but I do think he will be a solid QB1 the rest of the way.

He's got some great weapons in TO, Witten, Glenn, JJones, Barber. The schedule looks like smooth sailing. He's produced well so far. What is not to like? Romo is easily comparable to all the QBs mentioned by OP, except Kitna, Brees, and Eli.

I'd rate him as a borderline QB1 going forward, right around #10. Probably get him for a little cheaper than that in a trade right now too. Peyton Manning owners should make that move.

I have Romo and Jake D and I see their value as pretty equal...I give the Edge to RomoEdit to say one bad game by Romo and the Edge swings back to Jake D

Bump. Romo may not look pretty, but he is amazingly cool under pressure. Did you guys see that dart he threw side arm for a first down while he was getting tackled by a Card? It was a very athletic and gritty play.

He continues to remind me a lot of Rich Gannon.
