Top 10 KR/PR IDP's looking at 2013 (2 Viewers)

With Fabian Washington's potentially serious injury (he couldn't even put any weight on his leg), does Webb become the Josh Wilson of 2008?

funny how many players have had this distinction at some point. McKelvin/Manning/Demps.............etc

for fantasy purposes he may be a poor man's "Josh Wilson" for the rest of the year. Webb IMO is already a better defender than Wilson but he won't see the volume of KR's that Josh did a year ago. the Ravens D isn't nearly as potent as year's past but its still better than the Hawks D last year.

being compared to Josh Wilson as a fantasy players is a honor but being compared to him as a NFL player is a slap in the face. The Ravens were already giving Webb more playing time and he likely would have surpassed Fabian by season's end. he's really shown flashes of being a quality cover CB. if the hawks had things go their way...............josh would be a nickel/dime CB. for Webb's sake I'd bet he'd rather follow Terrence Mcgee's career arc

I've been riding the Webb train for 3 weeks now and he has been nothing but GREAT! In a points for kick return yardage league he is a BEAST!

I know this is for IDP's only but Devin Thomas had 100 yards receiving, 2 TDs, 159 return yards, 1 FF, and 2 tackles. I don't know where he got the tackles from, maybe special teams, but he scored an insane 50 pts in my PPR return league.

Looking for info on some borderline IDP returners for the playoffs who might not get consistent points, but have the potential to break a long return and win a fantasy matchup.

Darius Butler - Split KR's with Slater last week, also had 8 tackles as the Dolphins were picking on him all game.

Macho Harris/Quintin Demps - Is Macho still the man here? He only averaged 17 yds/return two weeks ago, this past week against ATL neither one returned a kick due to ATL's inability to score.

Dwight Lowery - Had the high ankle sprain a few weeks ago, but closer to coming back? Would he resume his special teams role?

Terrence McGee - Still listed as Buffalo's starting KR on depth chart, and from what I understand Parrish/Omon have been underwhelming. But he's a veteran, playing through pain and has only one return this year.

Justin Miller - Would anybody sign this guy this late in the season?

Any others?

What's the deal with the Jaguars' Brian Witherspoon?
Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum. I noticed that Josh Wilson was given a crack at a KR late in the game. Do you think he may be taking this role back? It's worth taking a chance I'm thinking so I'm playing him over Daniel Manning whose stock has gone way down since losing his FS position to Payne.

Good question. Any homers with any insight? Could be a huge boost to a playoff run.

Lions claimed CB/KR Brian Witherspoon on waivers from the Jaguars.

Lions KR/RB Aaron Brown has been pulled off kick returns for a "bonehead play" he made during Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

S/KR Quintin Demps sprained his ankle late in the second quarter Sunday and is listed as day-to-day this week. He opened the game with a 48-yard kickoff return, but was replaced by Macho Harris after the injury.

I don't know if he tweeted anything about macho harris.
So who is returning kicks for Philly? Demps or Harris, or ???
Harris yesterday, but long-term is tough to say. They have thrown Maclin, Harris, Demps, & Hobbs back there. Obviously Maclin is the talent, but he is a starting WR when he heals up. I doubt you'll see him there unless its a desperate game situation. I don't know what the stats say, but I prefer Demps. Harris has been brutal and over-hyped. Hobbs is okay, but they rotate so many defenders and KRs that none are worth anything fantasy-wise.

Would like to know about Daniel Manning and Leodis McKelvin, they are worth rostering if returning kicks/punts but not really if no return points.

I think Perrish Cox is going to hold some value this year. I've been looking to see if he can win the job in Denver, since he was so good at Ok State, but not sure

I thought the same thing about Alphonso Smith last season, especially after giving up a #1 to get him.At least he's getting nickel snaps now. :hophead:

Using Depth Chart from FBGs and CTRL F feature here's what I learned about DEF players that have KR/PR next to their names.

Notice certain obvious names do not.

I can't seem to find anything solid on Leodis McKelvin as returner this year. I was high on him last year but he had a season ending injury pretty early in the season.

Here's what I know:

- He is expected to be fine for training camp and should be the Bills CB2 to start the season.

- RB Chad Simpson was signed, and given the RB depth (Jackson, Spiller, Lynch) I doubt it was for his RB skills, but more likely for his return skills.

Anyone have any info on this situation?

Akwisi Owusu-Ansah made a good first impression today. He should be available as a late flyer in drafts and could be worth it if he wins the KR job.

ETA: Anyone with news on Webb in BAL or McKelvin in BUF?

SAN ANTONIO - The Cowboys drafted a rookie that has the potential to make an immediate impact and become electrifying player in the kick return game.

That rookie isn't receiver Dez Bryant.

It's safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, who practiced for the first time this offseason after rehabbing from shoulder surgery and a slight hamstring pull. He has spent all offseason doing mental reps on and off the field, and Wade Phillips said Owusu-Ansah didn't make any mental mistakes during practice on Wednesday. Owusu-Ansah's mental preparation didn't go unnoticed by the other coaches either.

"He didn't show any signs of being injured and he really understands the defense," secondary coach Dave Campo said. "He's been here for a long time, and he's been paying attention."

The team started practice with special teams work, and Owusu-Ansah returned a kickoff in his first play back.

"That's one thing I'm real natural at is returning kicks," Owusu-Ansah said. "So when I had that opportunity I just wanted to show my talent, and show it's real natural, and not something I have to pick up."

After practice Phillips said Owusu-Ansah has a lot of running ability and looked good in the return game. Phillips wasn't the only person who watched Owusu-Ansah and felt like the rookie can have an impact on special teams.

"I liked what he did in the kicking game; he showed some of that quickness and speed," Jerry Jones said. "Right off the bat, he's someone that could help us in the kicking game."

Although Owusu-Ansah may be able to make an early impact, it might not occur until the third preseason game. It's the limited amount of practice time, not injury concerns, that might keep Owusu-Ansah from playing in the two games. He said he has completed his five-month rehab and feels healthy.

"I don't think about the shoulder at all," Owusu-Ansah said. "Until something happens I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just going full speed."

Lat year, someone posted a running list of the top 15-20 KR/PR players and projected yards at each position. Anybody remember who that was? Are we gonna see it again soon??

Yeah as Pre-Season picks up we should know more who will Win or keep the PR/KR roster spots. So if anyone hears anything keep the news coming.

This thread needs more Javier Arenas. The best returner in NCAA history had 3 for 82 on Friday, including a nice 42-yarder, and also a 99-yard KR TD which was called back on a non-related holding call from a UDFA who won't make the team.

He should be top 5 from the get-go.

Had my eye on this guy, but wanted to wait and see what happened in training camp. Is he doing kicks, punts, or both? Seems like he will get Nickel work, but not take over for either Flowers or Carr, so he'll need to see plenty of returns to be the guy. Any word on the split between Arenas and McCluster?
