Top 10 RBs for 2008 (1 Viewer)

LT

ADP

Addai

Westbrook

LJ

Parker

SJax

Bush

Rudi

Lynch
I didnt know Rudi Johnson was a member here at FBG? I am not even sure Rudi will be a starting RB next year, much less in the top 10.
Rudi has been the starter for many years now and usually injury=opportunity but in this case there isn't a young back waiting in the wings to take over.
 Do you watch football?
I watch football. I havent seen Chris Perry or Kenny Irons play all year so what does watching football have to do with it?

1. A.Peterson ("AD").....best RB in any format (real life, redraft, or dynasty)

2. L.Tomlinson....still going strong in 2008, although likely out of Top 3 in 2009

3. B.Westbrook....pushing for #2, very close and stat-worthy but always a durability ?

4. R.Bush......Year 3 is when the 'numbers' will equate to the talent level associated with this kid

5. J.Addai......still very solid, but that's just what you get while others will continue to rise

6. S.Jackson.....could very well end up at #3 on this list, but the days of him pushing for the #1 spot are over, short-lived moment in the sun, heh

7. K.Jones......PPR dynamo in Martz' system who should be fully healthy in '08 but still gets lost in the shuffle in DET every so often

8. W.McGahee.......underrated and underappreciated, but still on the upswing in terms of production capacity

9. M.Lynch......watch out! '08 should mark the unveiling of the total pkg from this guy

10.D.McFadden........I don't care where he ends up, it doesn't matter (see "AD" preseason concerns), when you're special, you succeed

Coming close, possibly breaking through to the Top 10....

M.Turner

A lot of people rank Kevin Jones in the top 10 RBs for next year. I don't quite understand why. The guy has one 1000 yard rushing season. He's never once played a full season. He's also never reached the 10 TD mark. I really don't understand the Kevin Jones love.

Any list here without Lynch is nuts. He's been way better than I thought he'd be. I'll have a tough time passing on him at 6 or 7 next year...

A. Peterson

L. Tomlinson

J. Addai

B. Westbrook

S. Jackson

R. Bush

M. Lynch

W. McGahee

L. Johnson

W. Parker

After ADP, LT, and Addai it's slim pickings. A lot of teams are winning with WR and QB play nowadays and the days of drafting 2 RBs in the first two rounds may be over considering we have so many RBBCs and certain teams that have situational RBs for different situations. I am actually really high on McFadden for next year but with the explosion of ADP I think people will shoot too high to draft McFadden hoping for an ADP type of year. If I don't get one of the first three picks in my redraft next year then I probably won't go with a RB with my first pick and just draft for value and TD potential.

1. A.Peterson

2. J.Addai

3. L.Tomlinson

4 L.Johnson

5. B.Westbrook Gore

6. C.Portis Michael Turner

7. W.Parker

8. MJD

9. M.Barber

10. Westbrook
Portis is good but not that good, sorry.
Yet you replace him with Turner?
Turner is a viable top-10 candidate, but I think Portis is as well. If anyone doesn't belong on this list it's MJD. Sorry, please don't hijack this thread, but that's the truth.

This thread is about the top 10 RB's next year, how is discussing them hijacking?I would put MJD ahead of Turner, although i agree, Drew should not be on a top 10 list(maybe unless Taylor retires)

I am not sure what anyone is thinking leaving Lynch off their top 10.

I just didn't want it to turn into a MJD-lover vs. MJD-hater thread. That's all. Discussing the RBs is definitely OK :XI agree Lynch should be in consideration. There are a few guys I see every year where I think "this is the year they drop out of the top-10" but they keep coming back. We'll see, but I like Lynch's prospects, and I think Westbrook likely won't be a top-10 RB next season.

The guy has plenty of talent to make the top 10. He is in a system that fits his skill set very well. The Lions should be a top offense next year. He is an every down back, that gets the goal line caries and plenty of catches. His only issue is his durability, but i dont think his past durability issues makes him any more likely to get hurt than other RB's.

PPR I would put him in the top 10. Non PPR, probably not.

I decided to average out all the rankings on this thread thus far (spaces separate sizable gaps)...

1 - ADP

2 - LT

3 - Addai

4 - Westy

5 - SJax

6 - FWP

7 - Bush

8 - LJ

9 - Lynch

10 - KJ

11 - MB3

12 - Gore

13 - Ronnie

14 - MJD

15 - Portis/Jacobs

17 - Willis

18 - Lendale

19 - Turner

20 - McFadden

21 - Maroney/Rudi

The number of people ignoring Portis amazes me. Guaranteed he is in the top 8 RBs in your league right now. If anything Betts has done less than expected this year. And Portis has done it behind an OL that lost 3 starters. And he's only 26 years old.

Not saying he's top 5, but he should be in your top 10.

What makes you think Kevin Jones will be this good?
The offense looks good and he's getting touches. In his last 18 games (some of them are coming off of injury, and he had limited touches):

260 carries

1032 yards

basically 4 YPC

608 yards receiving

12 TDs

I think next year he'll be back to 100% and have a good year.

Fixed. ;)
BTW, I resent your signature. I touted Burner Turner before he was drafted as one of the best RBs in his class. ;)
