Torry Holt's Luck Ran Out (1 Viewer)

I haven't read the whole thread, but I've read enough...classic....not to hijack, but I had Holt at #6 on my board, just behind Burress -- who I took... :wall: The fact that some WR's don't get into the endzone as much on certain years is more due to probability than talent. You'll always see inconsistency on many WR's, as far as getting the TD's.I would love to have Holt right now.

Glad you could make it. I was just about to find this thread and bump it back to the top when I saw that you jumped on board....Feel free to go find one of the many inconsistencies and rip Bristol a new one....I'm telling you, this just plain brightens my day when I see him coming back for more over and over!!!

"Leave the Gun. Take the Canoli's...."Oh, my friend, I think you underestimate the stupidity and stubborness of our fellow poster, Bristol. He comes back. Again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.....Like I said it just brightens my day!!!

Maybe. My best guess is that he is right now creating a new profile and alias, and Mr. Bristol will be no more.

I'm sorry but that kind of arrogance can not be hidden.

So in 5 pages we've gone from an obviously misguided Tory Holt prediction to well wishes for JAA's wife and pending child with all kinds of tangents in between. Wow. I mean WOW!Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that the shark pool never ceases to amaze me in new and fascinating ways. I guess that's why I keep comming back, since the Bob Ferguson Revolution is long since dead......Just to parrot:Sorry about the myopia Bristol, maybe you'll learn something from all this.Good luck with the young one JAA, if the kind words of perfect strangers mean anything to you.

I am being excellent. Bristol, you sure are persistent. :D
 Not going anywhere ladies!!! Bristol is here to stay!!Go ahead and bump all you want. I think it's great!!! You will be the ones that will look like the true fools. And as for our "bet" smellvin, where do you come off making all the rules and I have no say? You get to pick the signature that you get, but I don't? I have to let the board pick it? You set the parameters for the bet and I have no say?? Give me a break!!! How old are you? You obviously have no idea how bets work, do you? I am willing to put my reputation on the line (isn't that obvious?). You, obviously, are not otherwise your so called "bet" would be more in line with your statements about both players.

Yet another pearl from our boy thefanatic

Posted April 30, 2003 Regarding Jamal Lewis:I believe that it's possible that he could crack the top 5. Is it likely? Not very.
THIS IS FUN!!! Gotta love it!!!
Wanna see the rest of that post? LinkNotice how Bristol conveniently leaves out the link and the rest of the post? I was so high on the guy improving on his 12-13 range from the year before that I traded for him in the offseason. I think my prediction is pretty solid. Currently he is the #3 RB in my league by a single point. If LT hadn't tanked on Sunday Jamal would be 4th. I would say that my prediction is pretty solid. And compared to the Holt going into the tank prediction, I'm right on....
Se how it feels when someone takes your words and twists them into something else? I don't deny that I made the comments and statements that you and Goingfor2 posted, but a lot of them were taken out of context and out of order in which they were said.I can conviently leave things out and edit quotes from you too. Watch your step ;)

Great. Saved me the need to make an evening bump.I fully explained already, Bristol - the sig would be within the bounds of the "be excellent to each other" mandate. I thought it would be fun to select a few and then have the board vote on them. You can do the same as long as they are within the bounds of decency and good sportsmanship, like mine is.You want me to come up with one right now, fine: "Torry Holt and Domanick Davis have proved me wrong week after week, and now I must shut my mouth about making predictions - everyone else was right and I was wrong." Better yet - you come up with one for yourself. I know you have no creativity in you, but give it a whirl of what your sig should be if you lose. You have no other say on the terms - I made the bet, you take it or reject it - your counter proposal is considered a rejection:DDavis getting at least 100 combined, and at least 75 of that on the groundTHolt getting 50 and a TD - I will allow a bump to 80 and a TDBut you can shove that 125 and 2 TD up your <<you know what>> As I've mentioned over and over (I know it takes a crowbar to your head before you realize you are getting hit, but anyway . . .), I have nothing to prove and no need to earn back cred. You do. I was not saying Holt will be outstanding, just that Faulk returning would not have a major impact on his productivity. You were saying he'd fall on his face with Faulk back. he's averaging over 100 yards and a TD a week, so 80 and a TD is th ernumber. That's a great day for a WR1, especially for one who is injured, as Holt is, so that is the number for him, no negotiations on the terms. You also said that DD was a flash in a pan, yet that flash won the rookie of the week three of the last six weeks and he has had six fine RB2 weeks in a row - in fact, he is the #7 RB over the last six weeks in my league (1/10, 6/TD). He's already more than a "flash," which you also refuse to acknowledge. You are being called out on YOUR words - not being called out on MY words. Called out, period. Show up or shut up, but do something productive, muffin. Thank you for coming back again and helping prove my points over and over - Fan, you were right - Bristol came to this battle of wits as an unarmed man. Is it possible for Bristol to sink any lower? Let's see what he posts next to find out."Girl, you thought he was a man, but he only was a muffin!"Bristol = Muffin

I just thought of a great sig for you, Bristol - "I came here to chew bubble gum and get my ### reamed - I'm all out of bubble gum."

80 yards and a TD for Holt and 100 combined yards (75 yards on the ground) for Davis, huh?If ANY of these stats are not met, you lose Smellvin. No ifs, ands or buts. Everything goes. If any of these players get hurt on the 1st play, the bet is still on. I don't want any excuses from you about how you lost or why you lost posted in this thread or anywhere else on this board.I am willing to use the sig that you posted above and I will work on one for you when you lose and, as always, I will be excellent to one another.Sig I will use IF I lose:"Torry Holt and Domanick Davis have proved me wrong week after week, and now I must shut my mouth about making predictions - everyone else was right and I was wrong." Sig bet lasts for one week. When I win, you are not permitted to respond to ANY of my posts in the future no matter how much you want to say something. Your persistance in getting this bet going will cause you to lose the right to say anything to me in the future.

I agree on everything except the above.I will not agree to refrain from posting in any regard, but you will have earned credibility back if you win. I won't be a di#k in the future after this bet, regardless of what happens, but I will continue to post as I wish. This issue isn't worth enough for me to give up posting - I'd have more fun not making the bet and continuing to bump this thread. If you want to make the sig bet, make it as stated - and, it will be the last *I* will mention of this until Sunday - to remind you and to check on stats.DDavis: 100 combined, 75 on the ground.Holt - 80 and a TD.My sig for one week if I lose: "Never cross Bristol, his FF genius is beyond compare"Your sig for one week if you lose: "Torry Holt and Domanick Davis have proved me wrong week after week, and now I must shut my mouth about making predictions - everyone else was right and I was wrong."Do we have a sig bet?

I am willing to put my reputation on the line (isn't that obvious?).
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: what reputation Bristol?you've been passed around more than a Tijuana hooker.

Bristol,One thing to remember is "That is why they play the game". I say this because I made a bet with RKade which was the 'steal of the century'. It is a bet I would have made if I had to do it over 100 times. But ya know what? I lost. Thats why they play the game.Just because it is a sure bet doesnt mean you are going to win.Make the bet and dont think twice about it. You will earn more cred (as some like to put it) just for making the bet. Its like the SATs ... you get 200 points just for putting your name on it.Best of luck ... my money is on smlevin though ;)JAA

The worst thing about this lame prediction is that I've seen Bristol ripping people about things they say. Whether this prediction is true (which it's not), I hope I don't see Bristol ripping on other's predictions because this is about as bad a prediction as you can put out there.Bristol, should I drop him or does he still have some value to trade. And if he does, who do you recommend I get for him, Keyshawn?

I agree!! Thanks for the vote of confidence!!
How desperate do you have to be to take a neutral comment as a compliment? Here's my sig bet for you:First, READ THIS FOR A REFRESHERSince you think Buckhalter deserves a roster space and D.Davis does not merit a WW pickup - I say Davis puts up more combined yards than Buckhalter this week. This bet should be a cinch for you. As an Eagles homer, you should at least be very confident in that prediction! You win: I use the smlevin line in my sig for a weekI win: You add this to any other sig "I can't even evaluate players on my home team much less any other NFL team"

Way to twist things around AGIAN. What is your deal? You must have A LOT of time on your hands.Did you happen to check out the lineup I submitted this week? You probably did, but didn't post it because you have an agenda to meet.

Guess what? Holt is not in it.

When I pick my teams for this Falguy contest, I usually just look at the top 5 from the cheatsheets and pick from there. I really don't look at matchups or other factors. Holt had the hot hand but it's over now and he is not in my lineup this week because of that belief. IT'S A FRIGGIN CONTEST DOUCE!!!

And no I won't make the sig bet with you because I have no, and I MEAN NO, respect for you as a poster and as a person. You have some agenda for me and continue to twist what I say. Don't ride smellvin's coat tails. At least I can respect him for the way he carries himself. What's your excuse?

BTW, watch what you post because it's open season brother. Your ### is mine!!!

Way to twist things around AGIAN.
The guy didn't twist anything. You said this on November 10th:
Last week, I made a bold prediction that Torry Holt's production would take a hit with the return of Marshall Faulk. Based on last nights game, it appears that my prediction has become a reality.
So prior to week 10 you made the prediction that Holt would go into the tank yet each week you put him on your roster in the contest. Totally contradictory. It's been great fun watching you stand by an erroneous prediction, but the funniest part is, you obviously didn't even believe it yourself otherwise you would've put a WR on your roster that had a chance to score more points than holt. Since, I believe you claimed that Holt was going to go back to his "typical 60-80 yards a week and 0 TD's" in your prediction, then why put him on your roster? Because even you don't believe in the prediction. You can't be too stupid to see the hypocracy can you? My money is on not.....

Warning, blatant instult:

Hey Bristol....Make a doctor's appointment pronto. You need to see a proctologist in order to find your head....

Thanks to the Oracle, Muffin, or whatever, this thread is slowly creeping up on the GOGO for thread of the season. Not as much inside joking going on, but I'm glad to see this is getting the requisite bumps without my efforts.

Just curious, what happens if Holt gets 140 yards and no TD. Its still the same amount of points as 80 yards + 1 TD. These details need to be ironed out.

Good point, what if he gets a few touchdowns and 79 yards. Who wins? There should be some sort of Fantasy point system installed here.haha

How is posting your falguy's lineup twisting things around? Did you happen to check out that I made that post 2 hours before you submitted your picks for this week? Was I suppossed to predict your picks? Remember, you are the Oracle - not I. Not that it matters...you have picked Holt more than once as one of your top 3 WRs after decreeing that his decline would begin. Why play in the contest if all you do is copy and paste from a cheatsheet? (remember, cheatsheets etc.. are for "sackless underlings")So I don't have your respect and you'd like me to give you an excuse for you to give it to me? I'd much rather be on your list of hated and unrespected people. After reading one too many of your arrogant, ridiculing and insulting posts towards others and the FBG community at-large (and if you ask 'what posts' you should know by now that I will 'help' you remember them) I think I'm better off without your respect.

Funny that even those you profess to respect - smlevin; you insult in the same breath "Don't ride smellvin's coat tails...".

It's been open season (on you) all week, you arrived a little late.

No system, no fantasy points, no.This is the bet (which has STILL not been accepted - the counter-terms of "no reply posting" was rejected):Holt gets 80 yards or more, plus a TD. If he catches 275 yards and rushes for 190, and somehow gets no TD, I lose. If he scores 4 TDs on 79 yards receiving, I lose.DDavis gets 100 combined or more, with 75 on the ground. If he goes for 225 combined, but gets only 74 of those yards on the ground, I lose. If he goes 74 yards rushing, and 125 through the air, and scores 5 TDs, I still lose.Under the scenarios mentioned, I win the argument, but I lose the BET and I will post the sig as stated. I still would win the ARGUMENT, of course, but I would honor the BET.
