And as for the Portis comment:Again, another great twist on words by Goingfor2. Actually read my posts would you? I know you get great enjoyment out of quoting my works, but the misquotes make you look like a fool.

For the record, I said that with Denver's QB problems that Portis would have a tough time doing much since teams would stack the box against him.

I traded for Portis when Plummer cam back.

Way to go Goingfor2, you are a real piece of ####!!!

This is classic. Possibly the best post to his thread. What's even funnier is that this is totally mocking Bristol and he still continues to not get it. He even took the time to defend himself on another wrong post about Portis.Even though this is the "Holt Stinks" thread lets take a quick look at the moronic Portis quote:

For the record, I said that with Denver's QB problems that Portis would have a tough time doing much since teams would stack the box against him.
Let's look at that prediction for weeks 6 through 9 with no Jake Plummer - week 10 was Denvers Bye:88 rushes for 361 yards 18 receptions for 118 yards and 2 TD's

That averages out to:

22 rushes for 90.25 yards 4.5 receptions for 29.5 yards and .5 TD's

Not overly stellar numbers but compare it to his per game average over the 10 games he's played so far:

19.6 attempts for 106.4 yards 3.4 receptions for 26.5 yards and .5 TD's

Plummer as QB or not, Portis hasn't skipped a beat.

Why is it that the numbers in both the Holt and Portis cases that Bristol makes COMPLETELY destroy his arguments? For someone who claims to have played FF for 10 years now, this utter disregard for the stats is the funniest thing I think I've seen so far.

He has yet to defend himself once when the stats are placed out there. He continues to bait and switch in an attempt to avoid the fact that he's been called to the table yet he doesn't know where the kitchen is.

Your dinner is getting cold.............

Bristol,I tried to defend you earlier, by telling people to lay off. That you knew you were wrong and just didn't want to admit it and that was your prerogative.

But dude, are you insane?

I had no idea you'd made all these ridiculous predictions.

No wonder everbody is all over you.

Then you ask people to read your posts, that others are twisting your words.

________________________________________________________________________________

_______

"QUOTE (Vikes03 @ Oct 25 2003, 08:46 PM)

Portis, he's gonna have a huge 2nd half!! (I hope!!)

How do you figure? Denver has obvious QB problems and that will only magnify the glaring weaknesses at WR. Defenses will stack the box against Portis. I see him as being marginal at best."

________________________________________________________________________________

_______

The guy said: Portis, huge second half.

You responded: QB problems, 8 in the box, marginal at best.

Your post point blank said a marginal 2nd half. No where did you qualify it with the disclaimer that Portis would be OK once Plummer got back.

I mean c'mon guy, I read your post just like you asked us to. If you're going to pick a post where you say words are being twisted to be used against you, at least pick one where you're not the guy doing the word twisting.

I think the best thing you could possibly do, is to simply stop posting for awhile. I feel bad for you guy, quit throwing more fuel on the fire.

However, if you've got a masochistic streak and your goal is to be degenerated and degraded by everbody, by all means, keep right on posting.

Good Lord man, what were you thinking when you made all those ridiculous posts?

I think most realize by now that Bristol is one of those guys who makes about 15 predictions. One of them is bound to come true, so he spouts off about how smart he is because of it. Meanwhile, most of this other ones are wrong and when others give him crap about it, he ignores it or whines about it. Sheesh, what a clown.

I won't be piling on this week, as I am currently eating crow on my DD prediction, and I'm nibbling at it on my Holt prediction, but I just had to check in here - very interesting turn the thread has made, and fairly amusing. So, whatever happened to The Fanatic? I thought he was going to carry this thing on regardless of the outcome of the sig bet?

And I thought this thread couldnt get any better. Thanks Goingfor2  Its absolutely hilarious that GF2 puts out 12 threads about Bristol's wrong predictions and he skips over every one that was absolutely wrong to focus on the Portis comment. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I'd be flabbergasted if Bristol actually admitted he was wrong about any of those.......Bristol, do you have the stones to admit you were wrong about any of those predictions? Or are you waiting till the end of the year? :rotflmao:

He may have skipped over all his other brilliant quotes to focus on the Portis comment but he was/is dead wrong on that one as well. Portis maintained roughly the same average stats for the four weeks that Plummer was out compared to the stats he's averaged over the 10 games he's played so far this year. Maybe that could change by the end of the year, but right now the stats prove otherwise. The stats have proven otherwise in the Torry Holt case as well. Bristol was able to claim a one week victory when the Rams sputtered against the Ravens. After that his prediciton has been smashed to bits yet he continued to ignore that. I'm sure he's read this thread since his last post but he has nothing to say to anyone here without making a continued moron out of himself.

Only called you a moron with your statments so far, not a complete moron. The only time I've said something overly degrading to you so far. I retract it.

I think I said:

I'm well aware that the season is not over but so far, the numbers show something different with Faulk coming back. We have five more weeks.....we'll see.....

So, whatever happened to The Fanatic? I thought he was going to carry this thing on regardless of the outcome of the sig bet?
Hey Smlevin....Sorry about this. I went to KC for work on the 16th and then to OKC for a little fun on the 21st. Came back to work and encountered a fire storm. Network Consultant fell asleep at the wheel and let someone hack my network. No damage done, but I had to deal with an irate Corp office on this one. Good thing I didn't hire the chump, so it's not my fault, but I still had to clean the mess up.Hey Briss, you aren't a jackass network consultant named Roger are you?

What cracks me up about all this is that he thought it was a great idea to dredge up stuff from the past and he keeps getting blasted with it. He could do it to everyone else, but it would take days to do it to everyone who has blasted him on this thread. BTW, Briss, have you noticed that not a single person is backing you up? Why do you suppose that is? Because everyone else saw the ship was sinking long ago and headed for the lifeboats. You on the other hand have decided to go down with the ship. Too bad you won't stay down.

I was going to let this one die out since I hadn't had an opportunity to bring it back up much while I was on the road, but with all the good fodder raised by goingfor2, I just can't. Great job on that research. Every week I will be able to blast Briss on 3-4 players he was wrong about if not more.

I also love the fact that he didn't head his own advice about Portis, just like Holt. Sure he can justify the trading for Portis, but it's really just selective perception. When Portis wasn't on his squad, Portis was horrible (in his mind), and then when he trades for Portis he reevaluates that theory and backtracks. Classic example of Leon Festinger's Cognitive Dissonance theory.

Oh, and Briss, I seriously doubt the boys from FBG give you any coin for your articles, since they are consistently wrong they do not want to be associated with them. I on the other hand had three articles published by FBG. Check them out. I'm Scott Thomas. Watch out for the other Thomas that published an article when looking for mine.

No wonder you come on here to make yourself feel like a big man: YOU ARE A COMPUTER GEEK!!Way to go!! That explains a lot!!

And like I said before, right or wrong, good or bad, I'm here to stay. You can boost your ego all you want by trashing me this way to Sunday, but it won't cover up the fact that you have no life. You inane comments and blasts of my posts are pure entertainment for me. I love to watch you justify your existance on this board by hammering me. IT'S GREAT!!

Didn't know they had gay bath houses in OKC ;)

Guess I will know to stay away from there...

The Holt issue remains to be seen. Funny how you fail to mention how right I was on Dom Davis and Ashley Lelie.

You are actually proud of the fact that you wrote two garbage articles about running a fantasy league and one very vague article about who are the next superstars? I should have expected as much. You are so much of a wimp that you will never put yourself on the line. At least I have conviction.I have been a regular contributor to many football sites in the past, and as with this board, have either been loved or hated. Doesn't faze me one way or the other. Conviction is the true measure of greatness, not the ability to write some sugar coated article with no teeth. Anybody with a brain can do that. This is the first year that I haven't written any thing for sites because I have been busy with my REAL JOB (i.e. not a computer geek) and my REAL FAMILY and MY REAL FRIENDS.I, instead, have put time into this board and given you my thoughts for free. Maybe next year, I will compose some articles for all to enjoy on some real controversial issues that will actually mean something and stir debate. After all, isn't that the whole purpose of this board?

No wonder you come on here to make yourself feel like a big man: YOU ARE A COMPUTER GEEK!!Way to go!! That explains a lot!!
Actually my background is in HR. Bachelors degrees in Psych and Poli Sci. Graduated with honors and spent 2 years in grad school. Fell into the computer gig by accident. Now I get paid to play around with computers all day. Seems like a pretty good way to make a living. Now I see that you make fun of my profession, but no mention of what you do for a living. What, that lucrative career in shoe shining not all that impressive to brag about? Back to the shine box boy.... :boxing: Again, a battle of wits and Briss is completely unarmed!!!

The Holt issue remains to be seen. Funny how you fail to mention how right I was on Dom Davis and Ashley Lelie.
The Holt issue has been proven week in and week out. But you either haven't learned how to read or are too stupid to comprehend what is written in this thread...Edited to say that sure, you got the Lelie thing right, but everything else you said was wrong. Say it with me, "wrong." You are like 1 for 20. Bang up job. And the Dom Davis thing isn't done. What do you think he does this week against Atlanta with Mack on the shelf? Can't wait to hear this!!

Funny, I got all kinds of praise on that article about the top 10. And I wrote 3 articles. I wrote another one about how to write a good newsletter for your league.Conviction? There is a fine line between conviction and blind faith and you crossed over it weeks ago. I would particularly like to stress the Blind part of that.

I have been a regular contributor to many football sites in the past, and as with this board, have either been loved or hated. Doesn't faze me one way or the other. Conviction is the true measure of greatness, not the ability to write some sugar coated article with no teeth. Anybody with a brain can do that.
Love to see the links to these supposed articles, but I'm guessing you don't want them to surface. More fodder for Goingfor2 to bring back to show what kind of a moron you are.
This is the first year that I haven't written any thing for sites because I have been busy with my REAL JOB (i.e. not a computer geek) and my REAL FAMILY and MY REAL FRIENDS.
Real Job. Back to the Shine Box boy. I want to see my reflection in these Rockports. As for family and friends? I'm just going to have to take your word on that one. Seems to me like you would've alienated anyone who was willing to spend more than a few minutes with you due to your mindless rantings...

I, instead, have put time into this board and given you my thoughts for free. Maybe next year, I will compose some articles for all to enjoy on some real controversial issues that will actually mean something and stir debate. After all, isn't that the whole purpose of this board?
Actually, I got paid for my articles. Seems the FBG guys liked my input so much they decided to actually pay me for my thoughts. Oh, please compose some articles...I can't wait. I can see the titles now: More things Briss is wrong about.

How can I be this Blind?

Who am I kidding?

How to live in denial, a hands on guide.

An idiots guide.....(that's the entire title!!)

How a Proctologist Found my Head and how I lived without it for so long.

How to get online with an IQ under 80.

Don't you wish you were me? I don't!!

Take my Advice. Of course I won't but it's great advice none the less!!!

Oh, and Briss. I can keep this up all day. You don't have the mental capacity to hang with me, so do yourself a favor and just walk away with a little dignity. Wait. Who am I kidding? You have no dignity. No credibility either. Little or no Fantasy Football Knowledge. So, never mind, keep it coming. I would enjoy slapping you around this thread for the rest of the season and into next year, because this one is coming back as soon as DD busts off 100 yards and a TD week 1 of 2004. Smlevin, you with me on this? Can't wait to see what Goingfor2 can find when he's actually got some free time in the offseason to kill. That should be hilarious...

Don't worry Briss. This isn't the only board out there, or have you been laughed out of all the others?

Take my Advice. Of course I won't but it's great advice none the less!!!
     Torry Holt comes to mind - he was supposed to suck with Faulk coming back yet Bristol managed to sneak him in his Falguys lineup those first two weeks Faulk was back. hmmmmmmmm....

That's right....just because someone works with computers means it isn't a "REAL JOB". I get paid a lot of freakin money to monkey with computers all day and I never studied this stuff in college. Without us geeks, 90% of the the "REAL JOBS" wouldn't get done considering every business I know is dead in the water without thier computer systems. I wonder if in your "REAL JOB" you use a computer........Tough life too working on computers considering I work 9-5 and have my entire nights and weekends to spend with my fiance, family and friends.....wait......apparently cause I work with computers I don't have "REAL FRIENDS" or "REAL FAMILY".......DAMNIT......If I could only some how model my life after Bristol I'd be sooo much better off.must......strive.....to be....like....bristol........trade holt..........trade.......portis....now........write funny articles......be......a....hypocrite.....put holt in lineup......aaaaaawwwwww CRAP. I can't become like him. Oh well, guess my life is better off ;)

Computer jobs are only for people who can do nothing else. People tend to "fall" into these jobs because they require little skill and knowledge and they cannot find a job in the true field that they went to school for (i.e HR)Shine box? HA!! Try executive scientist. I work for a major food company on the East Coast and am head of the Research and Development division. My group creates products that you shove into your cake hole every day. I have a Bachelors in Food Science and a minor in Biology. I also have a Masters in Buisness Admin. (notice, I am in the field that I actually went to school for) The amount of money that I get paid to do what I do is SICK!! I know what computer geeks make, and although they are overpaid, I still dwarf them. You think we are in a battle of wits? HA!! The only way I would consider this a battle of wits is if I actually had a worthy opponent (which you are not). Here's another question: why don't you computer geeks every shave or take a shower (women included). Try it sometime. It may change the way that people look at you. Oh yeah, next time I ask you to fix my computer, don't give me attitude and I act like I broke something. I know it's hard to get off your fat lazy ### and pry yourself away from this board, but you actually have to do work to get paid. Remember that!

I gotta find out what major company you're at so I can stop buying their product and help stop contributing to your exhorbitant salary. ;)

I tried my degree from college and hated it. The accounting field was filled with too many idiots that I had no patience for (kinda like the computer field).
I know what computer geeks make, and although they are overpaid, I still dwarf them.
Does this make you feel better in some way? Shall we compare penis size next? How about what type of cars we drive? Or even better, how much we can bench press!

Every "geek" I work with is clean shaven and not overweight. I love how you sterotype everybody - really bad debating platform. That ranks right up there with "my dad can beat your dad up". Classy.
Oh yeah, next time I ask you to fix my computer, don't give me attitude and I act like I broke something.
Nine times outta ten I get an earful from some moron complaining to me that his computer doesn't work cause of something I did. Then I find out Mr. smart guy loaded something he wasn't supposed to and...hmmmmm...the computer doesn't work now. Kinda like someone blaming you for being overweight because of the food you process.

Actually, much like the guy above, the field I went into bored me to death. Worked as an HR manager for the May Company HQ here in St. Louis. Hated it. I jumped ship and found something I love.

Executive Scientist? You create food products? Well, I'm happy to know that my money doesn't go into your bank account in any way. See, I don't buy that processed crap in the interior aisles in the grocery stores. I stick to the products located against the exterior walls of most grocery stores, i.e. fresh veggies, meat, cheeses, eggs, milk. See your oh so lame stereo type of IT people does not include me. I work out at least 3 days a week and eat healthy. As a matter of fact, I choose the hotel I'm going to stay at while on the road by which one has the best gym and lap pool. I don't smoke, I don't drink a drop of caffeine, and I drink gallons of water a day it seems. My only vice is my wine rack. I would explain the joys of that to you, but it would be lost on a schlub like you who probably created those nasty microwave burritos they sell in the freezer section.
You think we are in a battle of wits? HA!! The only way I would consider this a battle of wits is if I actually had a worthy opponent (which you are not).
This is obviously a battle of wits that you are losing badly, but you are too blind to see, just like you are too blind to see all the ridiculous "predictions" you make are wrong. You have made like 20 predictions that GoingFor2 was kind enough to find and only 1 was right - Lelie. If you are too stupid to see that you have lost all cred and dignity, then you will probably not see how easily I slap you around on this thread.

Nice. More blanket stereotypes. You know who use the most blanket stereotypes? Ignorant Bigots. Blanket stereotypes are a sign of ignorance. Look it up. The higher people score on raciscm and bigotry tests, the lower they score on intelligence tests. They also tend to be less educated. It's called a J-Curve or an inverse relationship. High on bigotry and racism, low on education and intelligence. So for someone to use so many blanket stereotypes and then claim to be so educated, I must say that you either buck the trend or are lying about the education. Are you sure you don't just shine the shoes of the people in that Research and Development Division of that East Coast Company? That would make much more sense. Back to your shine box, boy.Briss, give up now. You are taking a beating....But if you want to get up off the mat again, I'll be happy to knock you right back down....

Sorry boys, but this guy is BSing you. There's no such thing as an executive scientist. If he was really over R&D, he'd have a title like manager or director. If I had to guess, he fills the Lay's machines on his local route. He's probably been doing this so long that his boss has him take the new high school kids for their training, hence his infated sense of self importance. Furthermore, anyone with his type of people skills, analytical skills, and decision making ability would be a miserable flop as a technical manager. I do have to give him credit for being the ultimate contrarian on this board.

Bristol has got to be one of the biggest losers on the planet.....Can this clown every type somethin in here that doesnt make him out to be a total goof? I guess notAnd we all know he is just dying, waiting for Holt to catch like 4 passes for like 65 yards so he can come on here and suck his own ****......Sorry Bristol, you have relatively zero knowledge of the game of football; no matter what Holt, Davis or Lelie do from here on out. End of story

From Tory Holt to "executive food scientist". The hits just keep on comming!Bravo Bristol, you're the kind of entertainment America's been missing since Sigfreid and Roy got derailed......

If there was ever such a thing as rubber necking a thread, this one, hands down, qualifies. Bristol, stop replying. Just don't do it man, for your own sake.

Seriously Bristol. Everyone is pointing and laughing. It's gone from an outrageous prediction to a hilarious spectacle. The ship's sinking fast bro. :rotflmao:

Holt has not returned to the "Holt of old". His yardage has not "vanished in the blink of an eye". Holt's TD's are down but they have not vanished.
Isn't that the Holt of old, though? A lot of yards but very few TDs due to Faulk being the #1 red zone option?I realize Bristol looks like a fool here, but he has been partially right so far.

So the Holt of old is on pace to break the single season receiving record? That would mean he already has the single season receiving record....Besides, look back over this thread and lood at all the stats that show that Holt hasn't missed a beat with Marshall in the line up.Edited to say, we finally have a Briss supporter. One out of 40. The Briss Bandwagon finally has it's first member!!!! Congrats Briss.....

Please don't call me a Briss supporter. All I was pointing out is that his main point was that Holt's TD numbers would drop to the level the were in seasons past when Faulk was in the lineup.Since Faulk's return, Holt has 1 TD in 3 games, which averages out toe 5 TDs/season.Briss was at least correct on this part of his theory. However, I have no idea why Briss expected Holt's yardage to plummett. Holt has always been a yardage monster even with Faulk.

Sheesh, I leave for the weekend and the thread turns into a name calling pissing contest???Damn, i love this thread!!! :boxing: :rotflmao: Holt: another 8/102DD: 24/101/ 2tds , 2/27wow

And the Dom Davis thing isn't done. What do you think he does this week against Atlanta with Mack on the shelf? Can't wait to hear this!!
According to Bristol (who drafted Mack, Hambrick and Buckhalter in his "big money" league) , Davis still wasn't worth a waiver wire pick-up.
