Devil's Advocate
I suspect that the NFC East will win this poll. No matter what order the teams in that division finish, it would not surprise me. AFC West & NFC South are right there too.

to me, there is a difference between Toughest and most competitive.

Toughest Division - AFC West

Most Competitive Division - NFC East/NFC North

i think the nfc is by far the best division . this would be my "power ratings" not the teams final record but if all teams played the same scedule what they would end up with imo .

nfc ratings :

carolina 11-5

washington 11-5 - nfc east

philly 11-5 - nfc east

dallas 11-5 - nfc east

seattle 11-5

nygiants 9-7 - nfc east

falcons 9-7

lions 9-7

vikings 9-7

bucs 6-10

packers 6-10

bears 6-10

cards 6-10

rams 6-10

saints 6-10

49ers 4-12

afc

new england 11-5

indy 11-5

pit 11-5

denver 11-5

miami 11-5

kansas 9-7

cinci 9-7

ravens 9-7

jax 9-7

browns 6-10

I'm nearly certain it's the AFC North. Why must you even try to argue it? Super Bowl Champs, Playoff team, a team that had most of its stars injured last season, and a team of the rise. Four teams capable of making the playoffs this season.

Edit to zanti8: Are you kidding me? If I'm understanding you correctly, you think the worst team in the NFC East will go 9-7?? Has that ever even happened before?

I think the NFC East might be the toughest and most competitive. There's no weak link in that division. In the AFC West, I'm unsure about the Chiefs and low on the Raiders.

Just asking, why are you unsure about the Chiefs?Raiders can either beat any team in a given week, or lose to any team. That might just be the "fun team" this year. Sporadic, but when Brooks/Moss/Porter/Jordan have it going, that will be entertaining.

Going with NFC East here.

I agree that there's a difference between toughest and most competitive.I think the AFC West is always a good bet, but I have trouble calling them the "toughest" until I see Rivers play some.

For a conference that isn't as good, the AFC sure has been whupping up on the NFC for the past decade, now hasn't it?Until the NFC shows me it's ready to hang with the AFC, I have to assume that the AFC is still the better conference.

I'm nearly certain it's the AFC North.  Why must you even try to argue it?  Super Bowl Champs, Playoff team, a team that had most of its stars injured last season, and a team of the rise.  Four teams capable of making the playoffs this season.

IIRC, the AFC East didn't have a single team with a losing record in the first year after realignment. Of course, it didn't have a single team better than 9-7, either. New York, New England, and Miami finished in a 3-way tie for first at 9-7, and Buffalo managed to go 8-8 thanks to an out-of-nowhere ridiculous season by Bledsoe, Moulds, and Peerless Price.
