Trade Housh Now? (1 Viewer)

Is now the time to trade Housh before Henry returns? Chime in if you are a Housh owner and what you would expect to get for him in return.

I'll start. I am looking to try to get guys that are possibly undervalued because they weren't highly ranked in the preseason.

D Anderson, Welker, B Edwards, Mason, D Clark or Witten. These might not work in a straight up trade, but if you can get two and give up Housh and a low value player you are golden.

Before this weekend, I was tentatively offered Steve Smith for Housh, but I'm not so sure with Carr. If I do get rid of Housh, I'm searching for a package of buy low guys -- before this weekend it was guys like Colston and Holt. Not so sure now...

whatever is going on internally with the Bengals with regard to CJ, it certainly appears to be affecting them on field. Housh is definitely the receiver to have out of that tandem, and Henry isn't going to affect that much. But if you're able to move him in a 2 for 1 with those players you listed, that looks like pretty good value.

Ive been considering offering him for Reggie Wayne and Kevin Jones. Id also have to throw in a WR like Andre Davis. But I cant make myself pull the trigger!

If anything, I think Housh will be more valuable after Henry returns. Yesterday, the Steelers were doubling both CJ and Housh as much as possible and daring the Bengals to try and beat them with Holt. I don't think teams can get away with that if Henry is the #3, and if they can only double one guy, it's probably CJ.

I have Housh, and there is no way I'd trade him at this point.

Sometimes the best move to make is to not make a move at all.

Unless you are really, really hurting at QB and RB-no way.

Housh has crazy value but not that much.
 Unless you're playing in a family league and your senile gramps owns Wayne/Jones, no way that trade goes through.

Housh is #1 receiver in Cincy and will stay that way. Chad is wanting out of Cincy bad and Palmer looks to him only when he has to. If anything, I'd say Chad's numbers will take a hit with Henry coming; not T.J.'s.

Last year's stats don't suggest that.If you look at last year, in weeks 3-7 (4 games when Henry didn't play but Housh and CJ did), these were their stats (Targ--Rec--yds--TDs):Housh -- 44--30--352--4CJ ------ 40--19--247--0Housh clearly outperformed CJ, likely because CJ was getting the double coverage. But, when all 3 WR's played in weeks 8-17 (10 games), take a look at the stats:Housh -- 89--60--729--5CJ ------ 95--57--996--6CJ clearly received the benefit of Henry drawing attention. So, when (if) Henry returns, we'll likely see a shift in the current production from Housh to CJ.

IIRC, i think 450 yards and 5 of those TDs for CJ came in 2 games. not saying, "if you take away that big play" type of thing; just saying that in 7 other weeks when CJ, TJ and henry were all there, CJs numbers were mediocre at best.

so how about now? I didn't see the game and the targets still were good for TJ, but I'm concerned a bit. I just was offered Steve Smith and Westy for TJ and Bush in a PPR league. Seems about even but with Chris Henry back, I'm wondering if TJ's stats will continue to be less than his normal. Any homers chime in on what they saw?

If you are in a PPR, Housh still holds his value, IMHO.

And with this jewel of a thread I think I will take some time off until Sunday morning. Man this place is falling apart.

In the "Buy Low Sell High" recap this week Bloom gives big props to anyone who unloaded Housh while his value was sky high. Was on the money with this hunch, just didn't move on it. Damn you hindsight!
