traded players have any impact? (1 Viewer)

as i see player being traded 2-3 weeks before the season starts, I have to wonder will they really have an impact? after months of mini camps, and voluntary camp/conditioning and 3 weeks of official training camps, can they really have an impact?

By the time Duckett knows the sets, plays and the language, Portis will be ready again.

Will Barlow be of value and able to beat out Houston who has had months to absorb the system?

I really can't remember a player that changed teams at this late date that really made an impact or wass worth drafting.

personally I doubt Lelie will be a factor at all in Atlanta.

Maybe, but not this year. We all tend to get a woody anytime somebody is traded, but let's get real:

Lelie went from a bad situation to a horrible one. 3rd-4th option in the passing attack led by Vick? No thanks.

Duckett has no more worth in Wash than he did Atl. He is a less productive Alstott.

IMO Barlow is Barlow. We'll see if he does anything in NY, but I am not holding my breath.

I just picked up Duckett his value hasn't really improved as of now but the season hasn't started so you can't really say. He might turn out to be a nice two week replacement if needed for Portis. Who knows how the Redskins will use him with Betts, and Rock until Portis gets back. To me Lelie holds no value right now he isn't going to overtake neither of the current receivers and Vick doesn't throw enough to warrant picking him up.

These guys will not have a problem making the switch, imo. There are plenty of players who have done it in the past, even contributing after a midseason trade or street FA signing.
