& Addai may not play & the other two are on a bye this week.. Not the week to try & get that one to work for you..

Probably not enough. You are going to have to send top talent to get Portis. Say Marshall/Stewart or more.

why are you surprised the other guy doesn't go this. addai is going to be an rbbc, week to week guys match up guys????

you should not be surprised

In a dynasty, that's a pretty decent deal. Still not sure I'd take it, but it's decent.

In a redraft, I couldn't reject it fast enough.

I completely agree. There are some players that are untouchable and Portis is one of them. So unless you are prepared to give up a stud for a stud, you'll most likely get rejected. I traded for Portis a few weeks ago and gave up Westbrook in a PPR league.

I doubt someone is going to trade you three $1 bills for a $10 bill. Quantity doesn't = better.

But if you are having a difficult time trading, you should start looking at other rosters to identify their needs. For example, you are looking for a bye week RB filler. Maybe another owner in your league is looking for a filler at WR. Go to them to get a "serviceable" back and give them a "serviceable" WR in return.

Would YOU take that same package for LT?Why did you post your lineup? HIS lineup would make more sense to post. I can't imagine your offer would help many teams out. You're offering a collection of your spare parts that, combined, put up Portis-like numbers. But that doesn't mean they're worth Portis.

You need to look at trades from the other party's view. When I am offered a trade, the first thing I ask myself is......"does this trade improve my team?

So say you offered me Addai/Vjax/Stewart for Portis. Let's assume that I need WR help.

OK, I lose Portis and replace with Addai. Big loss for me there. Addai most likely will share some carries with Rhodes. Plus, IND hasn't looked that great this year. VJax isn't going to be an upgrade in start 2WR leagues, and is only a marginal upgrade in start 3WR leagues.

So I give up the potential best FF RB this year for a RB that is most likely a #2RB, and a WR that is going to be at best a WR3, and a RB that is losing carries to DeAngelo Williams.

Sorry, I couldn't reject that trade fast enough. Replace VJax with a top 7WR, then we maybe able to work something out. Portis is really worth that much in a redraft. You're going to have to give up a stud to get Portis, and Addai isn't considered a stud IMO.

According to Dodds values (his opinion of course) Portis has a value of 2300 and Addai 906 and Stewart 455. You're about 1000 points short. Which is about WR8......Randy Moss. Now I don't value Stewart that high, so I need a WR like Larry Fitzgerald or Greg Jennings to make the deal look fair to me. And I mean......just fair. This just shows how much you will need to give up to acquire Portis in a redraft.

Chris Johnson and BMarsh would be the minimum someone might accept.

You are trying to get the potential no.1 fantasy RB this year. Remember this.

And why trade FOR Portis now, his value is crazy high. I would shoot for FWP who could be had for much less albeit obvious risks.

I wouldn't make this trade if I were him. What is his record? If he was in first or second with a comfy lead maybe he counters with Addai and a stud WR, seeing as Addai will get healthy and he'd have a stud. If you are out of the race, your best bet is to go for broke, get a deal that will help you win NOW, not later, since later won't do you any good.

Its probably a dynasty team he has Addai and LT on his team unless he traded for 1 of them.

I have a question, why do you think it's fair? or better yet why would it benefit the other guy? I mean you're trying to trade 3 of your bench players for the #1 or #2 RB on the board. Addai is hurt and when he comes back will probably split time, V Jackson is ok, but nothing big and J Stewart is the backup RB for Carolina. It's funny because my brother tries to package 2 or 3 players together to get a great player. Anyone that is good in fantasy football would turn this down. Now, maybe week 1 it would look better, but things have changed. Try offering some better players, C Johnson and Burress for Portis and maybe his #2 WR. You can't get something for nothing.

OP.....you are seriously in the wrong place. This thread should be in the AC forum. O...and go read the available "beginners" articles.

No...I'm NOT trying to be rude. Your complaint is, to be (brutally?) honest, that of a clueless rookie. NOBODY (with a clue)trades a bonafide stud for a couple of regular players. And as a "bye week fill-in"???!!!!

Yeah....ummm....try the AC forum.

Portis is the best RB in the game right now.Addai is banged up and some are talking about him returning to a RBBCStewart is 2nd stringV. Jackson is a medicore WR.

When you are offering 3 players for 1, you are pretty much always offering a bad deal.

That's without even taking into account the 2 players the other guy would have to cut to make room.

yep offering multiple players for 1 is a dead giveaway that the trade mostlikely will be declined. People keep trying to steal Mendenhall and AJ from me for pure crap players, and I have some of the most depth in the league. I just dont understand some offers. Altho the worst offer I got was Palmer for wayne and a 2009 1st (will be a top 3) when I already have Brees and Garrard. I just dont know what that owner was trying to do other than hope I accidently hit accept.
