Trading CJ2K away (1 Viewer)

We all love CJ2K and his potential to be the #1 RB in FF this year but realistically if someone is willing to trade you their 1st and 2nd rounders does it make sense purely from an FF perspective?

If you can add a #1RB and a top tier WR (say Ray Rice and Miles Austin) - would you pull the trigger on such a deal?

Has anyone in the past traded away a top 2 STUD RB in FF? Think back to when LT was elite and perhaps Marshall Faulk.

Roster and scoring system would need to be factored in, but I would definitely consider it. No one is untradeable IMO.

Pretty much this. Andre was just traded in my league for some good RBs and Knox. It all depends on the depth of the trading teams. I'd be more then happy to entertain trades as long as my team improves overall...is CJ going to makeup for both the WR and RB you are going to get in return? If not, then yes, trade him away and improve your team. I see no problems with that. Now, if there is a 50 point bonus for 100 yards rushing, then if you trade CJ away you are simply moronic.

Last year I traded Adrian Peterson for Reggie Wayne and Deangelo Williams in week 3. As the season turned out, the trade was about a wash, if Williams hadn't gotten hurt I'd have been a big winner.

I think if someone offers you a top 6 back and a top 5 WR, you won't regret pulling the trigger. Ray Rice and Miles Austin? Take it and run.

It depends on your team needs. If you are shallow at wr, then something like this probably makes sense. If you already have Roddy White and Hakim Nicks, then maybe you wait.

I would take RPPRR and Miles "of yardage" Austin in a second for CJ2K

It's funny this topic is in discussion because I JUST traded for Chris Johnson and one guy in the league is getting all bent out of shape for it.

I gave: DeAngelo and Forte for CJ.

Thoughts?

If it matters... in a Dynasty PPR I gave CJ2k, Ringer, and Driver up, to get Mendenhall, DJax, and Demarius Thomas.

I thought that was good value, if it matters to evaluate an offers.

Ray Rice/Miles Austin for CJ2K seems like rock solid value. If you can make something like that happen, great....just don't settle.

As a CJ owner in a keeper league, I'd have to be blown away by an offer in order to trade him.

In the actual trades mentioned so far in this thread, I'd take the CJ2K side in each of them.

I would generally have to think twice about making deals like these, as you have to look at it as a math equation.

People sometimes forget that you get to play another play WITH the stud, so in this case Johnson + a receiver already rostered could very well be more productive than the two new guys coming back in the trade.

I realize that last year's numbers aren't likely to be repeated, but using an example . . .

If someone traded away Johnson last year and got Rice and Wayne in return, with the WR upgrade putting Santana Moss on the bench for the Johnson owner.

Johnson scored 347 points. Moss scored 109 points. Total = 456 points.

Rice scored 252 points. Wayne scored 184 points. Total = 436 points.

Based on last year, the trade wouldn't have been worth it.

A lot will depend what you think each player will end up producing and how your lineup shapes up with the new acquisitions. If you think Johnson's fantasy point total will drop 100 points this year, then it makes sense to trade him away if the guys coming back both appear to be be huge producers.

I did a big package trade after my auction where I moved A.P. and three scrubs for J. Charles, Jer Finly, Dez Bryant, and a D. I paid forty one bucks for A.P. but don't want to keep him for eighty two bucks next year (hundred dollar cap). TE scoring is weighted HEAVY in this league and Jer Fin will only cost me four bucks to keep. We can keep three guys and I need keepers so it made sense. Charles will be eight next year(I already traded him after week one), and Dez will be nine bucks. I think it was a great deal for me and my team is much better all around. I also traded Brady for Best and Dex Mc after the auction and moved Charles and Br. Tate for Rivers and McFadden after week one. Im a big advocate of trading anyone if it will help my squad.

I just wanted to add I blew my auction load on A.P., Brady and Hardesty for five and then all dollar scrubs. My intention was to trade them at some point but after the MH injury I sped up my time table. A Hernandez and Mike Thomas are the only two dollar guys who are getting time on my squad I drafted so I needed the Hershel Walker deal. After two weeks its looking good.

This is what I recently contemplated. I was offered Rice for Austin in a ppr, and initially I thought it was an easy accept, but factoring in that I would be sitting LT or Addai for Devin Hester it didn't work out well mathematically. Sadly turned it down

I had an owner offer Johnson to me, but he wanted Charles, Spiller, Bowe, a first and second round pick. He tossed in some nobodies (likely the guys he would have dropped) to be under the roster limit. Thought about it for a min, but had to pass.

To note, this was before week 1 when everyone was sky high on spiller.

I turned down Gore + Colston and Stewart + S. smith (Car) just prior to the season.

My socks would have to be knocked off for me to deal LBJ. He will win you weeks by himself, and since I traded AJ + Z. Miller (Oak) for him just prior to his rookie season, I've won two straight championships. He's that good.
