Trading up to get Richardson in dynasty (1 Viewer)

Clifford

Obviously different leagues will value him differently in comparison with the other top offensive players from 2012 draft. EG in my 2QB dynasty he could go as late as 1.4 after Luck, RG3, and Tannehill.

Have any of you successfully traded up to get in a spot to draft him? If so what did you offer?

Anyone else out there feel like he really is that rare talent you should sell the farm to get?

Wow, given the depth of talent in this year's draft I'd say that was a great deal for you. Assuming you got the 1.1. Rookies only or FA included?

I feel that way. I have been trying to trade for the 1.01, but having problems getting the other owner to be serious about talks. I'd like to hear what people are having to give up. RB1 and more? Wr1 and more?

Jimmy Graham, Sam Bradford, and a 2013 #1

I have Gates and Olsen as TE's, Rivers and RG3 as QB's. It was a predraft handshake deal assuming Luck or RG3 fell as we suspected they would, the poor guy drafting #4 couldn't justify either QB as he already had Cam and Ryan rostered so he took Blackmon instead.

Damaryius thomas, jimmy graham and beanie wells. I got a 2nd rd pick and julius peppers besides the 1.1. It was alot to give, but thats what it took and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Non ppr

Someone in our league gave Jamaal Charles, 1.04, and LeShoure for the 1.01/2.01/3.01/4.01 and some crappy dev players, in a 12-team PPR league. Everyone thought he grossly overpaid for the 1.01 at the time.

I would have thought that Graham would have been enough by himself

12 team PPR

Gave: Lynch, Spiller and Britt

Got: 1.1

12 team PPR

Offered: Ingram, D Moore, Gronk and 1st

For: 1.1

This one got rejected

I wasn't involved, but in my 12 team PPR with QB Flex, 1.01 went for 1.02, 2.06 and 2.07.

Ended up being Andrew Luck, Brian Quick and Stephen Hill.

I can see why both sides did it, but I prefer the side getting Richardson.

Offered Peterson and Fitz for Richardson and Julio, was rejected.

Offered Lynch and Fitz for Richardson, was rejected.

12 team non-PPR

1.10, Murray, Ingram, V. Brown, Flynn, 2013 1st (mid-late)

for

1.1, 3.1, Gore

He ended up flipping Murray + 1.10 for Mathews (great trade on his part), and then 1.10 was spent on Quick.

I ended up flipping Gore for Stewart in a 3-for-3 (Peyton/Gore/VDavis for Freeman/Stewart/Hernandez). I drafted Childs at 3.1.

12 team Dynasty, .5 PPR, all TD's 5 points, 20 man rosters.

Traded:

- Chris Johnson

- Mike Wallace

- 1.08

- 3.04

Received:

- 1.01 (Trent Richardson)

- 3.01 (Valuable because we draft 1+2 rounds in early June, then take a break and resume with round 3 in mid-late July - so 3.01 could be valuable if a player really emerges between mid-June and mid-July)

- 1st round pick in 2013 (May be very high)

- Felix Jones

- David Nelson

Probably gave up too much, but my team is kind of stacked and I really really wanted to add Trent. Here was my roster after the trade:

Rivers

Stafford

Trent Richardson

Marshawn Lynch

Stephen Jackson

Michael Turner

DeAngelo Williams

Felix Jones

Calvin Johnson

Larry Fitzgerald

Greg Jennings

Wes Welker

Fred Davis

Lance Kendricks

Dustin Keller

As a side note...I've continued to be active this offseason, completing a blockbuster with the main players being Adrian Peterson, Ryan Williams, and Vincent Brown in exchange for Marshawn Lynch, Michael Turner, and Wes Welker. With the draft pending, my current roster looks like:

Stafford

Rivers

Trent Richardson

Adrian Peterson

Stephen Jackson

Ryan Williams

DeAngelo Williams

Felix Jones

Calvin Johnson

Larry Fitzgerald

Greg Jennings

Vincent Jackson

Fred Davis

Lance Kendricks

Dustin Keller

In addition to 1.01 (Trent), I currently own 1.09, 2.12, 3.01 and 5.12

I would like to manuever 2.12 higher to the 2.03-2.08 range to add another WR prospect. Someone may fall to me at 2.12, but would like to get up to get a guy like Stephen Hill, Rueben Randle, AJ Jenkins, or Brian Quick.

My motivation for these moves this offseason was to get younger and try to keep the dynasty rolling. I know I am rolling the dice on some of these young players, but I felt I was getting a bit long in the tooth and wanted to get value for players like Turner and Welker now before they fell off a cliff. I did not want to give up Chris Johnson and Wallace for Trent, but that was the only way I could move from 1.08 to 1.01. I felt I was able to squeeze some value back by moving from 3.04 to 3.01 and getting a first rounder next year. That first rounder may end up being high as this team I traded with was 0-13 last year. He does have Cam, Chris Johnson, and Mike Wallace now, so he should win some games. But he could miss the playoffs again, which would net me a top 6 pick...so, it's possible that pick may be pretty valuable. At least that is how I am justifying giving up CJ2K and Mike Wallace for Trent! :P

With QB flex I might prefer Luck depending on scoring.

I was offered:

Jordy Nelson

Marshawn Lynch

Aaron Hernandez

2014 1st

for

1.1

Doug Baldwin

Lance Moore

I rejected it. I want a little more, and I think when the draft gets closer we will make a deal.

I traded up for the 1.1 in 4 leagues but I had this one offer sent to me that I rejected because I thought Stewart was going to get traded. After the news that he wasn't going to be moved, I tried getting it again and of course the same offer was rejected. Boy am I regretting that now.

I give: Stewart, Cobb, 1.6 rookie pick

I get: 1.1, 2.1

Yeah, I'm still kicking myself :wall: :wall: :wall:

The deals where I DID land the 1.1 pick:

League 1

I gave: 1.4, 1.6, LaFell, 2013 1st

I got: 1.1, Fitzpatrick, 2.6

League 2

I gave: Vick, MJD, AP, Marshall, Little

I got: Bradford, Foster, Richardson, 2.1

League 3

I gave: 1.2, 1.3, Sproles, 2.12 rookie pick

I got: 1.1, 1.7, 1.11, Hillis

Not being able to land him with Ingram and Gronk and a first is pretty steep.

Of course then there are deals like Buck got.

I have to agree with overrated. I have had 2 chances to acquire Richardson and have declined both.

I had a chance to trade Jordy Nelson and a move down in 2nd round and move down from 3rd to late 4th in PPR league where you only need to start 1 RB but can start up to 6 WR and I declined that one. I am a huge contender and think that Nelson outscores Richardson this year and probably next and less chance of injury.

I had a 2nd chance in my other dynasty league for the 1.3 and 1.7 with only needing 1 RB and start 3 WR and TE get extra points and much rather have LUck and Fleener who I drafted over Richardson instead again.

Some of these trades seem high and I would have traded Richardson in many of them. 1.2 and 1.4, the Jordy Nelson one but it does depend on scoring I guess and how stacked your team is.

Not really surprised by these rejects tbh. He's being drafted around Pick 6 in startups.

I had hoped for Graham and the future 1, but he was hellbent on an upgrade at backup QB and as it was looking I was staring at 3 when I don't think I need more than 2. Personally, I still think it was worth it but that's because I view Rich as the #1 pick in startup's. Certainly was a hefty price though.

I'd probably do it during as well, but I can see passing on it after the fact. Depending on how your team is laid out. Consider Ingram a bust though.

Wow, seems like valuations are all over the place on the 1.1 this year. Some people have to essentially get the farm and others give it up for practically nothing (2nd round pick and 2013 1st)

Shows that there are widely differing opinions on T-Rich.

Gosh all you guys that are trading 2-3 stud veterans along with a 1st rounder of some sort just to get Richardson are off your rockers. He hasn't played a down and even the best rookies have a 50% flop rate.

I was offered Stewart, Dem Thomas, a 2014 1st and 3 future 2nds for 1.01 and Bradford. I passed.

I think he's a better prospect than AD who is the best RB prospect I've seen since I started following all of college football outside of just the Big 10 - 10...12 years ago?I'll overpay for that guy, no way would have I given up anything close to what I did for any of the 1.1's the last few years though.

It took Ryan Mathews + 1.08 to get the 1.01. It then took CJ2k, patrick willis, 1.07, 2.07 to get the 1.01+jaquizz away from me.

I traded Blackmon, David Wilson, Rashard mendenhall for Trent Richardson. This was prior to the draft.

I offered Mathews, 1.05, and a 2013 1st and was turned down.

If I had another 1st to add to the deal he said he'd do it so I'm trying to deal for one so I can get Richardson.

Seriously out of hand if someone offered me this it be a done deal in a nano second.Mathews and Richardson are close value in startups

I want Richardson badly, he's in the same league as AD and Calvin Johnson as a prospect. I will basically pay any price to get him.

you should be glad that he turned it down. that is absurd. mathews, 1.5, a 2013 1st and another 1st this year? for a guy who hasn't played a down in the NFL? I wouldn't pay that for mcoy or rice or foster. mathews is a top 5 ppr dynasty back. the point differential even if trent turns into ADP isn't going to be anywhere near worth that trade. back way from the ledge.

Team 1 gave: Flacco, Joe BAL QB;Hardesty, Montario CLE RB;Richardson, Trent CLE RB

Team 2 gave: Bradford, Sam STL QB;Tate, Ben HOU RB;Brown, Antonio PIT WR; Year 2013 Round 1 Draft Pick from Team 2; Year 2013 Round 2 Draft Pick from Team 2

Team 1 rebuilding.

Team 2 repeat champs.
