Travis Homer, SEA RB (1 Viewer)

91% snap count
90% RB attempts
60% RB targets

11-34

If you had told me prior to the game that Homer would be getting 90%+ of the snaps I'd be thinking 15+ PPR points would be a given.

Note to self: Stay away from this backfield unless you have Walker.

Thank god I didn't need him.

I started him instead of Juju and it cost me a championship and a thousand dollars and a ticket to the Big Dance. Sigh.

not much solace today, I know it's tough to get over it

but when you have some perspective on this, I think you can feel good your process was fine

JJSS hadn't done anything in a month and was facing a good defense with really good DBs

Homer was the last man standing in a great matchup, at home facing a team that is going nowhere and playing just about as far from home as possible

you did fine with the stuff that was within your control

I clinched two other ships yesterday and have three more I can win tonight. 7 dynasty byes and 7 more dynasties in the playoffs. 7 golden tickets to the FBG tourney with the possibility of 0-2 more tonight. So yeah I'll live but nevertheless Homer was the last $1 FAAB I spent on Sunday morning and I wish my opponent had blocked me.

I agree about the process. I was 50/50 between him and Juju so can't beat myself up too much.

How you doing in the other 40 leagues?

How you doing in the other 40 leagues?
10/29 FBG teams made it to the semifinals, and 8 to the finals this week. I need a big night from Rhamondre to get a couple more ships tonight but I clinched 2 last night.
0/1 on my one Main Event team.
Scott Fish Bowl I'm in the playoffs and up around 26 on the Turk tonight
1/2 home league redrafts in playoffs next week.
2/2 PlayerProfilerChampionship in playoffs and 2 golden tickets for the Big Dance on their site (very similar to FBG only top 4 seeds/12 make playoffs)
My one single non-FFPC dynasty just clinched its division, which comes with a $$ bonus as well as being into the playoffs next week (this team was a *horrible* orphan 2 years ago).
FFPC 1QB - 3/5 going to playoffs including 2 byes ($$) - I also have 3 additional 1QB squads that are known rebuilds and I'm not counting them against me here.
FFPC SuperFlex - 10/14 going to playoffs including 5 byes ($$) - I also have 4 known rebuilds.
FFPC BestBall dynasty - currently in 3rd place I only have 1 of these

So that is 29/65 teams going to the playoffs but keep in mind those 10/29 FBG teams only get in if they are top 4 out of 12. It's a thin slice.
0/8 FFPC BB Never Too Early Tourney (I have a couple that are going to finish in 3rd just behind the cut - boo!!)
On Underdog I have ~120 BB teams I drafted and will be advancing around 20, which is right around average for advance rate. But a couple of those squads are juicy and I'm hoping for the best there.

Errr so yeah go Homer. Dang it.

@barackdhouse if you don’t mind me asking…and obviously. lot of payouts TBD

what is your ROI on your 65 leagues?

you buying a boat this year?
Looking to take the family to Disneyland again with some of the winnings and pay some bills! But I mean basically I took a bit of a bath in redraft last year but did a little better than break even on the dynasty side. Whereas I had done quite a bit better in redraft the previous 2 years. My approach is to make a consistent but moderate profit from the dynasty side each year in order to justify (paying for itself as well as) having as many dart throws as I can handle on the FBG side so that even if I have a bad year in redraft like 2021 I can mitigate it. Right now I have 7 dart throws for the $500,000 and possibly 2 more after tonight. But that side is going to be profitable this year as well as the dynasty side and it has a chance to do it in a big way.

But yes a lot TBD still and I'm not quite to even yet but a couple more ships tonight will do that on the redraft side with all gravy profit in the Big Dance. In dynasty I need 4 ships to break even, or the equivalent finishes, but will have something like a dozen teams competing there. I could easily profit a few thousand there if variance swings my way. I had 10 dynasty squads in the playoff race weeks 16-17 last year and got 0 ships out of it, so the stuff is fluky.

I also have two powerhouses in that PlayerProfiler contest where 1st place is $50k. It is basically the same as FBG except all 4 top seeds make the Big Dance.

So anywhere from a few thousand profit to a few hundred thousand!! Realistically I'm hoping for enough to take a trip, buy back into the dynasties I want to keep and reserve a few tokens for more FBGs next year and a couple Main Events. Tokens sort of complicate the ROI question because I usually have 10-15 tokens for FBGs each year that I win as consolation prizes the year prior - this year I had 12. Which means now that I think about I am already into the profit on the FBG side and it's all freerolling gravy from here.

Anyway.

just wondering your team name in FBG or FFPC leagues? if you prefer not to share it's fine.

Holy crap, shouldn't we all be listening to this guy?

Was really hoping to snag a cheap 10-12 points from this guy yesterday (1/2 ppr). Obviously that didn't happen so now i get to sweat out tonight hoping the pats D and Stevenson stay under 16 total.

Don't love my chances.

I name every team something different. This year my redraft teams are magically themed. Heinous Magus, Trashy Magi, Beige Mage, and the like. Last year it was funk music puns.

Hey Barack, long time first time, thanks for doing this. I have 3 for you *(if that's allowed):
  1. Just curious....in your 65 leagues, how many times did you start (or face) Travis Homer?
  2. Same Q....Evan Engram
  3. Besides obvious guys like Christian Watson, Garrett Wilson, or Bam Knight, give me an ARSB-style rookie who could be this year's "And a child shall lead them" who could be a playoff MVP? Or if you prefer, and under the radar veteran who will be a difference maker over the next 3 weeks.
Thanks. Been a longtime fan, really hoping the kids have a great time at WDW. Also, you should think about buying a boat with your FF winnings.

Lol well first off my parents used to live on a boat and I've been there done that. There are a couple other ways to refer to a boat. One is a hole in the water that you throw your money into. Or B.O.A.T - Bust Out Another Thousand. I'd rather charter a voyage frankly.

To Q1 - yeah just once or twice for sure on Homer. Hoping Walker suits up Thursday.
Engram - I had him on a couple squads and always picked the wrong week. I did lose one ship this weekend to a team that had him active with his 40 burger, but it wouldn't have mattered.
Dark horses for rookie playoff winner that hasn't been named - Rashid Shaheed, Okonkwo, one or both of the guys behind Rhamondre if he is out - Pierre Strong and/or Kevin Harris. I think Jelani Woods could still make more noise at TE.

(fantasypros) Travis Homer took one carry for five yards and caught four passes for 25 yards through the air on Thursday against the 49ers.
Analysis: After seeing a spot start last week, Homer was back to his usual third down role with Kenneth Walker healthy. He had a crucial fumble late in the first half that resulted in a touchdown for the 49ers right before halftime. Homer can be dropped in fantasy leagues, especially if DeeJay Dallas returns next week.

Bears signed Travis Homer, formerly of the Seahawks, to a two-year contract with a maximum value of $4.5 million.

Homer profiles as the Bears third-down back, as he has nearly as many targets (61) as rushes (83) in his four-year Seahawks career. This is bigger news for Khalil Herbert's chances of being a featured back next season, as Homer is not an especially strong back that simply has to get carries and split the workload. The timing of this signing suggests Homer will hold some real part in Chicago's plans next season.
