Trent Edwards injured during night practice

"EDWARDS INJURED: Trent Edwards got knocked knee to knee during the first play of an 11-on-11 segment and hobbled off to the trainers.

Trent Edwards just went to the locker room with the trainers, who are looking at his right knee. He walked there under his own power. He didn't appear to be favoring it much.

We'll have further updates as they become available."

"POSSIBLE EFFECT OF EDWARDS CONTUSION:

With Trent Edwards thigh contusion just above the right knee, it's his plant leg at the end of his drop back.

If it is in fact a deep bruise it could make planting on that leg pretty painful and possibly compromise the way in which he drives off that leg to deliver the football.

We'll keep an eye on it if in fact he's able to practice Wednesday and see if he can not only stop his drop back momentum effectively with that leg, but if he can also drive off it when throwing."
