Trent Green really likes ... (1 Viewer)

“I’m not stopping at 1,000 yards,” he said. “I’m expecting more.”

Parker needs to realize hes the 4th option in a Herm Edwards offense.

I believe he meant in his career.

This is even better than Julius Jones telling everyone he was going to get 1,800 yards last year. At least he had a chance. Trent might like him enough for 40 receptions and 3 tds.

It's doubtful Herm even knows who he is. Seeing as Herm isn't running the offense. Herm to OC: Lets run the ball more :hophead: :hophead:

OC: We scored more TDs last year then you scored in 3 years with the jets.

Herm: :hophead: :hophead: :hophead:

Sammie Parker actually played pretty well down the stretch for KC. From week 12 on he had 25-355-1. Whereas Kennison in that same stretch had 23-456-1. If you take Parker's per game average for that stretch and extrapolate it over 16 games you get 67-946-3. So 1000 yards isn't wishful thinking.

He's actually one of those guys who is entering his third year who performed well down the stretch the previous year who could be a sleeper for people.

I agree with this, just don't overpay. He's more along the lines of Az Hakim than a top WR. He's the 3rd option in the passing game, on a team whose defense is improving and will run more. He'll be an assett to the offense, help stretch the field, but will be entirely too inconsistent for anything more than a WR4 in most leagues. If something happened to Kennison, he could be much more valuable, and in a dynasty league, I like the kid.

Last week I drafted him in the 13th round of a $ league with pretty knowledgable drafters as my WR5 - pretty good value and upside

GB quotes coming out of OTAs

We're squarely in the middle of that "100% Optimism" period...where:

Every sleeper is going to breakout
Every veteran is in the best shape of his career
Every recovery from injury is ahead of schedule
Every offseason acquisition was masterful
Every coaching change was the right one
Every malcontent has a new outlook on lifeIf Samie Parker gets 1,000 yards it's because a) Eddie Kennison got hurt early in the season, b) Tony Gonzalez got hurt early in the season, and c) Larry Johnson forgot how to run the ball.

lol, jason - good points! i fell into the trap a few years when trent dilfer was high on one of his receivers -- i can't even remeber who it was now, buit it didn't pan out at all. i think he even made the comment in context of fantasy play.

While I am not advocating that Samie Parker will definitely get 1000 yds recieving this year, I am not going to entirely dismiss it either. From Week 12 to Week 17, Parker got just as many targets as Gonzo and Kennison. Parker (33), Gonzo (36), Kennison (35)In that time period Parker had the most receptions of the 3. Parker (25), Gonzo (24), Kennison (23).The question for me is will Parker, over a 16 game season see a similar amount of targets as he did from Week 12-Week 17 of 2005? ASSUMING he does, he looking at about 90 targets for the season.ASSUMING he has a similar percentage of catches/target (75%), he's looking at about 64-68 receptions next year. ASSUMING his YPC of 14.8 stays consistent, he's looking at something in the neighborhood of 900-1000 yards.Alot of assumptions, but not impossible. I think it really boils down to his health over a 16 game season, and not Gonzo or Kennison's.
