Just curious if anyone had seen anything on his potential to stay at WLB after Groves gets back from injury? Or does he go back to his normal rotation at DE once Groves gets back? Any info is muched appreciated!

wondering the same thing...

I'm thinking about picking him up and sticking him in my DE slot and hoping he produces LB numbers. Hopefully someone can chime in with a little more info

On the all important Thursday practice...

Quentin Groves was limited (and was said to be "very limited") in practice.

And the other option Thomas Howard did not practice.

That would leave me to believe that Scott will play Sunday at WLB.

Of note* The team really liked what it was getting out of the line and front 7 (vs the Chargers) with the changes. But that was assumed to be more about the front line then Scott. i.e. Shaugnessy.

A good defensive performance by the Raiders and Scott... coupled with a win against the 49ers would likely help his odds at sticking in the line up.

Just might have to take a shot with Scott this weekend...Thanks Choke

Oct. 15, 2010 2:37 p.m. - Trevor Scott will start again at weak-side linebacker in place of Quentin Groves (hamstring), and Matt Shaughnessy will get his second-straight start at Scott’s spot at right defensive end. Groves is practicing but is not 100 percent, coach Tom Cable said.

Excellent news, Choke. Thanks for the update.

Thoughts on Scott this week if he's listed as a DE in your league? Must start in DE required leagues?
Im trying to find a way to get him into my line up. But I cant just yet.Its only his 3rd season. Last year in his second season...

He started 6 games down the stretch.

He had 26 tackles 5 sacks in that time. All at WLB.

Currently that would rate as the #5 overall DL.

Thanks for the info Choke

If he is still listed as a DE in your league he is almost a must start IMO. I am trying to find a way to get him on my team and in my line-up this week too. This also makes Shaggy a nice play as well. Would be great for both guys if this sticks for awhile, if not all season. But I think they would probably switch Scott back to LB officially if its going to stay this way, which would make Shaggy the sneaky pick-up for the season.

His 2-2 stat line was less than impressive for a LB. Now a DE that's an average game, so I'm not complaining, but what's the story on this guy moving forward? Was he at LB all game and does he stick there for the foreseeable future? I didn't get a chance to watch any of this game.

I didnt see the game.

2-2 is below average. But it isnt too far off of what he has done at WLB.

last year

6 tackles (2sacks)

3 tackles (1s)

5 tackles (1s)

1 tackle

5 tackles

6 tackles (1s)

this year

7 tackles

4 tackles

he had that before the half was out, so maybe he was got dinged and missed the 2nd half.....was also disappointed after his hot start in the game.

Looks like he is NOT sticking at WLB as the starter.

He will get some snaps at WLB (possibly) and return to DE primarily. Rotational status all the way around.

Oakland Raiders LB Quentin Groves (hamstring) will return to the starting lineup at weakside linebacker when he is completely recovered from his hamstring injury, reports Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers. When he comes back, DL Trevor Scott will return to a three-man rotation with DL Matt Shaughnessy and DL Lamarr Houston at defensive end.

Not sure if Groves is 100% healthy yet. Though it was reported he did get some snaps last week vs the 49ers.

Not sure if the report is 100% accurate, because I would rather rely on the actual practice reports. But I have no reason to doubt McDonald.

No Groves on the injury report at all, so I guess its the end of the line for Scott?

He is back at RDE, starting. For whatever it is worth.
