True Detective: Tom went in to listen to the Cardinals game...in November. Mmmmmhmmmm... (1 Viewer)

Some may be forgetting that by this time last season we had already been exposed to the D'Addarios, so the lack of anything similar this season may be a problem.

Also, I think some people really dug the mystery provided by the flashback/timejump storytelling device.

This season proves just how naturally compelling both Harrelson and McConaugehy are as actors, as there is nothing interesting at all about Vaughn, McAdams and Farrell. There was an emotional investment in Cohle and Hart as characters that is lacking this season.
Exactly.

Well, in Episode 3; the acting continued to circle the "suck drain" but at least the plot seemed to have a little something developing.

Everybody seems like they are overacting or are a caricature.
It's been said here before...it's supposed to be that way. Neo-noir.
Maybe it's just to over the top for me. I will try not to complain after this post.

Some of the lines are just poor along with the acting even if that's what they're going for. Mcadams is as bad as VV imo and that mansion w the Russian wife and all the portraits w the mayor always drinking ... Jesus.

McAdams is the most redeeming part of this show.

Farrell's doing a great job acting, but I'm just about done with Velcoro's one note character. He makes Christian Bale look like he's at a birthday party. Still, having them team up for real (as opposed to the fake teaming up they've been doing) at least has potential.

Vaughn's character does nothing for me. The gay cop is about as one note as Velcoro.

I like the three agencies working different angles plotline, but I was kinda hoping Velcoro was actually dead so it would trim the plot from three agencies down to two.

Who is the big nostrils lady? link?
Abigail Spencer. Pretty sure most pron tube type places should have her vids.
Yeah she touches herself a lot. Her best work.
She seems really friendly.
And her nostrils aren't really that big. She's very cute.
Not even light can escape those nostrils...still hot though.

Picking up momentum imo. Cheering for Velcoro to #### everyone up. And for McAdams booty.

I enjoyed VV going old timey boxer on gold tooth...that was fun.

Maybe I was too drunk last night but why didnt the crow man kill Velcoro?
I think one could reasonably conclude that CrowBro is tied to the power-structure in Vinci (or at least a faction of it, certainly not to Semyon), and that taking out Velcoro, who has a hand in the investigation of Caspere, would be damaging to Vinci's interests.

Good thing he had his trusty riot shell shotgun handy in case the guy who stumbled onto a murder scene was the one guy who would be too damaging to kill.

Maybe he was looking to capture someone else to get information on the money, but he saw it was a cop and left him. I think the story here is officially *developing*.

*cheap/lazy* works much better.

Or he knew Velcoro would be there and it was a set-up of some type. He could have been tipped off that Velcoro was heading there. Wasnt there a car across the street? Someone waiting for him. Maybe this set-up was used to push the sex angle when the real angle is the real estate.

Also if you wanna talk about how bad the show is you gotta start with "Half anaconda/half great white." Who is this ####in' guy, Dr. Octagon?
That line made me cringe. I think they rushed the writing of this season a bit.

The acting has some good moments, but they didn't make you care about the characters before they started the avalanche of plot points. Stuff is happening, but so what?I'm gonna watch, but they are not living up to the standards of last season, imo. Just ok so far.

He didn't stumble...and 'Where's Blake!'.

So red headed right hand man of VVguy is in on this, right? Who else knew Velcoro was going to that house?

If the perpetrator was heading there to get the hard drive, why was he armed with non-lethal ammo? It doesn't make less noise, right?

I don't want to read this thread, as I am waiting until season two is over to binge watch it. I do want to say that I really didn't enjoy season one very much.

Because Vinci PD would naturally lose all interest if one of their officers was killed in the course of the investigation?
