I just watched the last two minutes again. Ray is dead.

Please don't be offended when I say that I'm not going give your observations a lot of weight.

There were three things that seemed to foreshadow his death I thought...That last conversation with that cut up chick, said something about the only way he'd get a vacation was if he was dead

When he told those kids to get out of that agueduct, they flipped him off and he said something like, yeah, f#$k me

Said something like "we get the life we deserve"

I welcome judgement.

Are all the aerial freeway shots just because they didn't have enough actual story to fill an hour?

TV shows/ directors love establishing shots.

BUT I will give somewhat of a pass here. Freeways are LA and vice versa.

Notice how shows set in NY have to show iconic buildings or skyscrapers etc? (Friends and the damn flatiron building comes to mind)

Did I hear correctly, Vinci has 95 residents? Wtf?

They've shut out residential areas except for bare essentials, to free up space for industrial development. They have a lot of heavy polluting industry, the implication is that they corruptly allow these to set up in Vinci and avoid environmental standards elsewhere. The city get lots of legit income from fees, taxes & whatever else, they have to provide minimal services due to having few residents, as well as the kickbacks for everyone involved.

Pretty sweet scheme really.

The city of Vinci and its politics is really interesting...but I guess you have to whole-watch.

I really want to give this a fair shot because of how amazing season 1 was. But this is just brutal. No redeeming qualities at all IMO. Every character is awful and I have no idea where the story is going.

I strongly disagree, S1 was better. However, they are attempting to do totally different things. This season will be one of the more polarizing seasons of TV in recent menory.

I'm not remotely hooked like I was season 1, but I don't think it's terrible either. I think Vince Vaughn is fine. It's slow, but season 1 was as well. I have faith.

This season proves just how naturally compelling both Harrelson and McConaugehy are as actors, as there is nothing interesting at all about Vaughn, McAdams and Farrell. There was an emotional investment in Cohle and Hart as characters that is lacking this season.
