True Detective: Tom went in to listen to the Cardinals game...in November. Mmmmmhmmmm... (3 Viewers)

I have so damn many questions about the last 2 episodes that I think I am just going to go into an alcohol binge to try and erase this entire thing completely. So many things happened that didnt make sense there at the end. So many. Not sure I would know where to start asking even if I did want to venture down that path.

I havent read any of this thread but the #1 thing I have to know is why did Colins character drive to the effing woods to try and get away from the army men and why didnt he just hide once there? Seems like you could drive to a hundred other places and been better off. Those guys were not going to go all gi joe on him in public.

I don't think I would watch this next season without some huge casting coup. No confidence in this writer now and it seems like the director of season 1 and the chemistry of MM and Woody really had a lot to do with the success.
They're not getting any big names for next season unless Nick Pizz gives up a lot of control.
Nic Cage and Adam Sandler are already linked to rumors.
If they somehow could add Shia Lebouf then I am in.

I thought he only noticed the tracking device because of it's reflection in the puddle. I assumed they tracked him to the school with it, so they put it on his car much earlier.
How? Nobody knew where he was and I thought it was a "clean" car?
I don't know. Just seemed more preposterous that they put it on him while he was at the school for a few minutes.
Like that matters.

When I first saw the puddle I thought they screwed Velcro over by putting a hole in his gas tank and stranding him there.

I did laugh though at all the head shots and how easy they made them look. Like when Frank shot the two or three guys with one shot each at the cabin. Yeah, I'm sure he's had a lot of time

to practice at the range....
Would have been a lot more realistic if he had a remote that controlled a machine gun in the trunk of the car.

John Travolta has bought the rights to TD on behalf of Elron Hubbard's estate and Dianetics, and all future seasons will be taking place in the Battlefield Earth universe.

No word yet on the Psychlo translation for blue balls in your heart.

I feel like this guy tried to pack 24 episodes worth of information into 8 episodes. There'd be a guy on screen for like 30 seconds in 2 scenes and we were supposed to fully understand who he was amongst all the other white guys in suits. Rolled out slowly this could've been better.

Oooof opposite for me... If they could have trimmed the fluff, it could have been a really good 4 episode miniseries.

Called it. Just need Lindsay Lohan on board and I'll be 2/2

I'm usually the guy who laughs at all the dopes who can't follow the plot/characters on a show. But this cluster#### just had me totally lost. Just WAAAAAYYYYY too cluttered, poorly written and no character development. I didn't care about any of them and was bored probably 85% of the time.

Its better than most television, because most television is horrible. But if you're just putting it up against TV that at least attempts to be some sort of art, this was a complete and total bust. By the end, I was just hoping a dirty bomb would hit LA so nobody would live.

Classic case of a show runner/writer getting way too much freedom after a great first effort.

What? You realize he had that same freedom in season 1 right? Because all of this is his idea as the creator.

Why wouldn't he have complete autonomy? His mistake was not taking on the right executive producers, like the kind that actually do work (not like Matthew McConaughey).

He needs some help with the writing and some with the editing, but this is his show and should have as much freedom as he wants IMO.

i have never watched one single second of this show but i bet it is about a billion times better than sons of anarchy that show sucked some serious you know what bromigos take that to the bank

Exactly.

Pizzalato or whatever his name is... he bit off way more than he could chew.

Sure, an inter-agency conspiracy sounded good on paper, but having FOUR main characters just bogged things down far too much.

You had each main character, each with their own "spin-off" characters that you had to know and take stock in.

You had Frank and all the random foreign guys. The donut shop guys. The Mexicans. The Russian cat.

You had Velcoro and his ex-wife, his kid, his Dad, all the crooked cops he worked with.

You had Riggins and his chick, his crazy mom. The guy he apparently was in Iraq with.

Bezzirides and her dad, her sister, the Mexican chick and the "missing sister".

Just... too many f'in characters.

Season 1 relied on the incredible interaction of MM and WH. There were only a handful of "spinoff" characters that you had to recognize. We were invested in MM and WH's story.

There were elements of Season 2 that were OK, but completely and unequivocally paled in comparison to Season 1.

They need to take a step back and realize what made Season 1 so good. It was two interesting characters and how they interacted, and some crazy subject matter in the background.

Season 2 was just a hodge-podge of corruption and tailspinning storylines that we finally got some semblance of clarity on in the last two episodes. By then it was too late. I won't "whine" and say I wasted 510 minutes of my life. It was decent, but not even close to Season 1.

I have the whole season on my DVR but haven't started yet. Should I just delete?
Only if Walker Texas Ranger is available on demand. /Tanner
In just a few hours you've mentioned Walker and Nash Bridges. Both shows that knew what they were and hit the mark time after time. I'd rather watch a random episode of either one of those shows than another minute of the pablum that was TD2. It was a mess and should be considered a complete failure.

You go girl

They wanted this season go be Chinatown or LA Confidential but it didn't work.
IF the blue diamond heist girl that became Caspere's assistant had a daughter by him, and Caspere had lived and showed an unhealthy attraction to the daughter later, than Ray fell for the grown up caper girl, and conducted an interrogation about her relationship with the young girl...

Is she your daughter? Is she your sister? Yes.

Is she your daughter? Yes. Slap.

Is she your sister? Yes. Slap.

I made it through 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy. The carny fist fight was the end for me.
