I'm pretty sure the right wing perspective is this:

Why wouldn't a trump supporter be happy?  He's not only doing things he said he would do, but that right wingers have said should be done for years, only to have the guys in office try some watered down version.

He's getting protested heavily by the left, and people are getting seriously unhinged yo the point of violence, which just makes it easier for righties to say these lefties have lost their minds i must be right if hanoi jane disagrees with me.

He's pissing off other countries by backing out of bad trade deals?  Good. They've been walking all over us for years.

You don't like his policies? Then don't vote for him. You didn't, you lost, he won, stop whining.

You don't like his style? We did, we voted for him, we won, and he's stayed true to it. (Even if i didn't like his style, he was better than blah blah blah.)

You don't like his policies, we don't like yours. We finally have the house, the senate, the executive and judiciary, and we can finally implement things we've wanted for decades.

This is probably all true -- and really disheartening for progressives. About the only thing we have going for us is the almost certain failure of most of Trump's policies. I really hate to think like that but his ideas won't move the country forward and it takes a GOP president every once in a while to remind everybody that conservatives are really lousy at the modern world.

That's what you get for letting Wasserman Schulz and Hillary run the party.  We kind of brought this on ourselves.  Those are both vile people.

This.  I would think Trump supporters would be ecstatic at this point.  He's proving himself to be exactly the guy they thought they were getting.

That's surely true of the majority of people who voted for Trump.  And maybe my view is colored by the fact that I live in a predominantly blue state, but there is a contingent of people who voted for him (because they just always vote R, or because they hated Hillary for one reason or another, etc.) and assumed he'd act less insane once he took office.  Maybe it's too small to matter but there definitely is a subset of Trump voters who are already no longer Trump supporters.

Well, let's evaluate a couple of things. Trumpkins surely like the way their boy slaps down the press every day and is trying to keep the dirty immigrants from coming into the country whenever they like. But the jury honestly has to be still out on the wall, I would think, it's way too premature to evaulate saving jobs in the heartland, too, but "Draining the swamp" has to be considered a royal F U to the people who voted for him, amirite? Even the most loyal of supporters have to be aghast at that Goldman Sachs crew he brought in to help run things. Who's been ####### red states over more than the GS gang?

let's not forget Donna 'BoBo' Brazile - as complicit and vile as the other two you mentioned  :X

HTF did Pelosi ever rise to power?  She seems like a complete, drunk, moron.  Is that the best we libs can put out there?  You know what lib is looking the best these days?  Al Freaking Franklin!

:lmao:

Trump could say 2+2=5.  Spicer would go to the podium and say it's true.  Kellyann Conway would go on all the news shows and say it's the new alternative facts.  And within a week teachers would start getting calls from angry parents demanding to know why they're teaching their children 2+2=4.

Russia could release a tape showing Trump with a 14 year old prostitute and they wouldn't stop supporting him.

There is literally nothing he could say or do to lose their support.

Not a fan of the style... but the substance has been mostly good. I don't like tariff threats but I don't think he's serious about that. I'd prefer he stop being so cosy with Vlad. I'm a fan of the aggressive implementation of the platform. Overall he gets a 'B' so far. I did not support him but if the election were held today he would get my support.

I'd bet the No votes in question 1 and Yes votes in question 2 are just nerds without anything better to do.

99% of Trump fans are pigs in #### - this travel ban is like a dream come true for them. Next he'll get on his wall, and soon we'll be in an all-out trade war #winning.

Because she is insulated in her congressional district.  She cant lose. Her district was 86% Hillary to 9% Trump.

So they can utilize as her as a pointman with little issue.

Based on the first 2.5 weeks of his presidency what leads you to believe we shouldn't take his threats seriously?

I disagree.  If that prostitute was a boy.  He's be abandoned immediately.  I have a feeling that's what is going to take him down.  The gay.

The Dems really need to freeze Pelosi out.  Three women destroyed this party.  Pelosi, Wasserman-Schulz- and Killary.

With Trump, I still don't think they would care.  None of the old rules seem to apply to him.  Imagine if Obama was caught on tape saying "I moved on her like a #####" in describing an attempt at adultery before he was president.  Even taking out the part where he goes on to describe using his celebrity to sexually assault women, that would be the end of Obama's political career.   With Trump?

My daughter sent me two notes over the last few days.

The first one read, "It is my intention to clean my room this week."

The second one read, "I have homework to do so it may not be until the weekend. But I'll get to it."

I'm satisfied.

Cool.  Wrong thread?

Yeah, I mean free trade is econ 101. You guys like to pretend Trump is a complete idiot who just happened to make a billion dollars but let's be real... the guy understands finance, he's done a lot of business internationally and he has a team of advisors who understand the same. These tariff threats are nothing more than that... threats. This is how Trump does things - he looks for any advantage he can find and leverages it against the party he's negotiating against. Like it or not, this is his strategy.

That's a nice word salad, but you didn't answer my answer my question.

I'm not happy with some of the stance on global warming.  I am skeptical if DeVos was a good candidate for the job.  I have no real understanding why they'd remove the information on puppy mills offline making it tougher to monitor that practice.

Other than those three?  I am all good. And I love the way he throws the left off track on important issues by these stupid tabloid topics (Nordstrom, Apprentice comments, etc).

Fine with how things are going. trade deals being reviewed, DOW---20,200, new announcement coming on tax cuts and libs losing their ever loving minds on a daily basis  .

I will be honest, I was not happy about the travel ban and the way it was rolled out--that was not a good move. And I wish he would put down the darn phone sometimes.
