TJ Hooker was good. Speaking of TJ Hooker, Heather Locklear was in multiple successful tv shows. Whether one considers them great is up to the viewer.Shatner - Star Trek, T.J. Hooker, and The Practice/Boston Legal. T.J. Hooker was a good show and is very underrated.
Do any of you understand what "starring" and "great" mean?

IT WAS GREAT TO ME, DAMMIT!I thought about Ed O. as well, but I didn't consider JFC as a "great" series since it was cancelled after 10 episodes.Ed O'Neill

Bill Shatner was the 1st guy the thread title sparked, I'm sure he was mentioned in the first few posts.
Post #16: https://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?/topic/740307-tv-actor-that-starred-in-three-great-series/?p=18750700Actually didn't see Shatner on page 1, that seems odd given the thread title. You know he was Star Trek/Hooker, wasn't hard to find Boston Legal which had a good run for a few years.
I see other names mentioned but Shatner when you add in all the movies and other guest TV spots, to me he would be the biggest named actor but there are folks who hate this guy and don't give him his due. He's a compete turd in real life as shown by George Takei, homophobic, all of it true but I always have enjoyed him on film and on TV.
This is really good, she has been a female anchor on a lot of shows.Wendie Malick

Absolutely hilarious and I think we could actually shift Star Wars to All in the Family which of course Maude was a spinoff.Bea Arthur

Don't forget Ash vs Evil Dead, currently on Starz.Props to the recognition of David Boreanaz:
Buffy
Angel
Bones
In football terms, Boreanaz is kinda JAG, but he's parlayed that into a looong career (in industry terms) of starring in respectable shows.
However, all such threads begin and end with:
BRUCE CAMPBELL
(you first state the name, then just back into whatever stats are necessary)
Burn Notice
Hercules/Xena
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
(when using the term "great" for the thread, the above all qualify simply by Campbell's presence in them)
(oh, and he deserves partial credit for the greatest Old Spice commercial ever)
Seinfeld...maybe because it is Seinfeld but I think of him in nothing but that show.Jason Alexander

In the 1990s Morgan starred alongside Walter Matthau in a series of television movies for CBS as Stoddard Bell, a judge who is an acquaintance/nemesis/partner of Matthau's Harmon Cobb, an attorney (The Incident; Against Her Will: An Incident in Baltimore (TV 1992), and Incident in a Small Town (1994 TV)). He also lent his voice to an episode of The Simpsons from season seven, where he once again played Bill Gannon; in the episode "Mother Simpson", Gannon and Joe Friday (voiced by Harry Shearer) are FBI agents trying to track down Homer's mother, who is a fugitive from justice.Rooting around in IMDB can be informative.
I thought maybe Harry Morgan, and sure enough there's Dragnet and MASH. I was sure he was in a third, but not so.
I see he was in 72 episodes of a show called Pete and Gladys in '60-'61. I have never heard of it, and don't know how popular it was (maybe the fact it was only 2 seasons answers that), but now I have.
When you see all of these different shows actors have been in, it shows how difficult a "hit" really is to stumble into.
my favorite martianBill Bixby had a good run.
