Two Nights in Vero Beach, FL (1 Viewer)

I'm fairly familiar with the area, having gone down there close to a dozen times for work... but typically I only stayed in Vero one night. I'm going Aug 12-14, staying on the beach at the Holiday Inn (don't knock it!). There's a joint called Bobby's that has killer roast beef sandwiches that I'll hit up on the first night.... but looking for suggestions for the second night.

I like dive bars and checking out eye candy.

And maybe a lunch suggestion or two as I don't fly out on the 14th until late afternoon.

TIA

Great city but I've only been to the beach there and are at a pizza place near the beach.

Look on trip advisor maybe?

I generally do OK using Yelp, and that's how I found Bobby's. To my delight it was directly next door to the Holiday Inn I stay at. Not sure why they only get a 3.5 star rating though. :loco:

Anyways, I figured the FFA crowd would be better to poll than the dorks on Yelp. :oldunsure:

Spent this past winter in Vero. Loved it. Check out either the Riverside bar (nice if you can tolerate sitting outside), Hurricanes (for beer and Wings), Izziban for great sushi, or Filthys whiskey bar. South Beach is our home base for lazing at the shore. If you feel cultured, check out McKee gardens or the downtown art scene. On the cheap: a stroll through Riomar neighborhood is nice. Sorry, have no golf info. Have fun!

The Disney resort in Vero is great, but you don't sound like you are looking for a family deal.

Other then that all I can tell you is the beaches are great and there are scores of beach front restaurants. Check out squid lips.

Thanks all. I'll be rolling into town late on the 13th so will likely stick to the hotel bar (which, at the Holiday Inn, isn't half bad) and Bobby's next door. Thursday night I'll be ready to get jiggy. :fro:
