I cannot believe this guy wasn't drafted. Some schmuck was on the radio this week and had him down for a third-round pick.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
"Welcome back, folks. Let's go right to the phones -- Andre in Tampa, what's on your mind?"

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
lolIt was some ESPN "expert".

I didn't think he had any chance of third-round, but not to be drafted was a bit surprising.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
From what I read, teams were concerned with his slight build, though certainly it's hard to argue with his production. He's got an uphill battle ahead of him trying to crack Tampa's backfield rotation. He's gonna need to be a star on teams.

Probably won't make it. Caddy, Pitt, Graham all certain to make the team. Would be nice to see a local kid (high school and college) get on the squad.

The Broncos went after DonTrell Moore as soon as the draft was over.

Agreed. If he does make it, it will be a great story.

Martin Nance chose wisely. He's going to Buffalo where he'd be nice compliment to Evans.

Denver missed out on the DonTrell Moore sweepstakes and got Mike Bell, RB, Arizona. This is a nice fit.

The Steelers got Mike Kudla, Ohio State, who will switch to LB. They're going to love him.

Drew Olson, QB, UCLA, is going to get a shot in Baltimore. It's a good choice for him, but I have my doubts he'll stick. He is the anti-Boller though.

Cards signed Miami (oh) CB, Darrell Hunter. I confess he was THE biggest undrafted surprise to me. I predict he'll be in the nickel next year and starting for years to come.

Rams signed Antoine Bagwell, RB, small schooler. Think Quentin Griffine without the hype. Nice kick return possibility.

Giants added Sir Henry Anderson because they forgot about DTs yesterday, and they grabbed Anthony Mix a pretty talented WR/TE tweener from Auburn.

Seattle signed Travis Lulay, a decent regional small school QB they intend to convert to safety.

Falcons signed Troy Bergeron semi pro WR. He's an interesting player many expected to be drafted late yesterday. Hard hard worker. His story sounds like Joe Horn's.

Panthers picked up versatile Tenn OL, Albert Toeaina. He should stick too.

Bears picked up a nice OT from Louisville, Travis Leffew. I would have been happy had Dallas drafted him before getting confused about the missing twin brother.

Dallas did nicely here! Sam Hurd, incredibly productive WR from No. Ill. And Austin Miles!!!! My Boys have my boy in camp. Yeeehaw. They're also going to look at Jeff Mroz, QB from Yale I was yapping about liking before the draft. Finally, a safety from Arizona, Darrell Brooks, not a classic FS, a big hitter, very aggressive, but in a smaller package. He is very experienced starting for 4 years, but... ah never mind. They got Austin Miles. I hope he beats TO out for a starting job. :D

is greg lee even being looked at??? Im a pitt student and thought his desicion to leave this year was terrible, but had no clue it would turn out this poorly for him. any news?

I felt bad for him and Charles Gordon yesterday. They should have stayed in school. I'm sure Lee will get an invite to mine-camp, and he better choose wisely.

I thought I saw Lee to the Cardinals.Derek Morris is an OT that came out early and didn't get drafted. Big time bad advice to him.

Morris is another sad tale, nice player too. He should go to Dallas. Yes, I just saw Greg Lee to the Cardinals and read Fitzgerald had a little something to do with it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yep, I was really hoping for the Browns to get a hold of Kudla, and actually thought they were going to draft him in the late rounds. I wonder how hard they pursued him post draft, he could turn into a Vrabel type player. Maybe not so much because they drafted Wimbley, D'Qwell Jackson, and Leon Williams.

Where the heck is Harding?

Eagles UDFA's:

Player School Pos. Ht. Wt.

Nick Cole New Mexico State C 6-0 350

Torrance Daniels Harding LB 6-3 248

Jason Davis Illinois FB 5-10 240

Pat McCoy West Texas T 6-5 328

J.J. Outlaw Villanova WR 5-8 193

Levonne Rowen Wisconsin CB 5-11 198

Bill Sampy La.-Lafayette WR 5-11 192

Dejuan Skinner West Texas T 6-5 349

Scott Ware USC SS 6-1 218

Lawrence Vickers, my pick for the best fullback in the draft is going to Cleveland. I really like Cleveland's draft, btw.

Fahu Tahi is another solid fullback going to the Bengals.

Quadtrine Hill, a more versatile fullback from Miami is going to Houston. Kubiak needs a fullback and this kid could start soon.

The Lions picked up Matt Bernstein at fullback. He is regarded as better than most these guys. :dunno:

Rumored that LB Kai Parham is going to Dallas and DE Eric Henderson to Cincinnati.

Both should have a good shot at making those teams.

Parham ran OL slow, but he's a 3-4 inside backer with great instincts. Dallas needs someone like him to be good. I expected Cleveland to draft him. Brown's all-time leading rusher Nick Hartigan needs a team. I figured his size and speed, smarts and toughness would land him somewhere.

Hartigan is the next Nick Goings.

AJ Harris needs a team. 225 and 4.3, come on now. Duckett went in the first round.

Tim Day, TE, Oregon-- easily the highest rated TE to go undrafted, signed with the Bears. So much for getting Leonard Pope, but a pretty cheap consolation. He has nice tools, and this is a great spot for him. Injuries slowed him down as much as anything.

New England Patriots signed LB Freddie Roach. Could serve as a good ST player and add a bit of LB depth if he makes it on the team.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Definitely a Belichick type.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Anymore info on him? In some publications they had him ranked reasonably high at the ILB position.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
A little slow, but big and strong. Played his entire senior year wearing a huge brace on his elbow, but still was a great player on a top 5 defense. Good kid, good leadership skills, good potential.

Steve Fifita, a very athletic 325 pound DT from Utah signed with the Dolphins. I thought he would be a great 3-4 NT prospect in Dallas but oh well.

Travis LaTendresse (pronounced Latahndras) had an amazing 16 catch 214 yard 4 TD bowl game against a solid Georgia Tech defense, and after being injured much of his senior year. He's an interesting Ricky Proehl type prospect, who runs great routes and catches everything. Anyway, he's in Kansas City.

Rams UDFA signings

OC Donovan Raiola, Wisconsin

OC Mike Degory, Florida

PK Josh Cummings, Pittsburgh

RB J.D. Washington, Morehouse

TE Jonathan Williams, New Hampshire

DE Kory Lothe, Eastern Illinois

DL Tim Sandidge, Virginia Tech

WR Clinton Solomon, Iowa

RB Antoine Bagwell, California (Pa.)

TE Ed Nelson, UConn
Isn't he Dominic Raiola's brother (lineman for the Lions)

Ugh. I've been waiting for word on this guy. The Colts signed Pac 10 co-defensive player of the year and another player I would have loved to see in Dallas, Dale "Manimal" Robinson. He's mean and nasty. His value dropped because he didn't want to be moved to OLB and the thinking is he's to light for the middle (235 or so). Hooey, he's the same size as Tatupu, and now he's in Indy where a smaller MLB might be very good. It's boom or bust with Manimal. Not a special teams type, but a guy who can really mess up an offense when he get it going. Nice pick up for Dungy.

These were all players I was hoping the Patriots would pursue....Not one of them were chosen...

OL Jai Lewis, George Mason - NY Giants

LB Spencer Havner, UCLA - Washington Redskins

LB Kai Parham, Virginia - Dallas Cowboys

TE Tim Day, Oregon - Chicago Bears

LB Oliver Hoyte, North Carolina State - Minnasota Vikings

OC Pat Ross, Boston College - Seattle Seahawks

WR Martin Nance - Buffalo Bills

CB Darrell Hunter - Arizona Cardinals

ILB Dale Robinson - Indianapolis Colts

GOOD. I hope this works out.

16. Marcus Vick, QB, Virginia Tech

27. Manaia Brown, DT, B.Y.U.

28. McKinley Boykin, DT, Ole Miss

34. Copeland Bryan, DE, Arizona

37. Tommy Jackson, DT, Auburn

41. Chijioke Onyenegecha, CB, Oklahoma

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Names from the first list of 50 that are still bugging me. Vick for the entertainment value.

Brown, Boykin, Jackson, could all help out somewhere. I really like Brown as a relief pitcher at NT in any 3-4. Stout as they come.

Bryan is the classic underachiever with great upside. I'd give him a shot.

Chijioke Onyenegecha was given a first day grade by the draft advisory board and certainly deserves a free trip to mini-camp.

REDSKINS signed:

Manaia Brown, DL, BYU

A 6-3, 310-pound defensive tackle, Brown was a two-year starter for the Cougars. Last season, he recorded 31 tackles, with three for a loss, and 1.5 sacks. He is regarded as a strong, wide-bodied run-stuffer.

Derrick Fenner, WR, Maryland

Fenner, who grew up in Hampton, Va., is a 6-0, 193-pound wide receiver who was a two-year starter for the Terrapins. He had 34 catches for 417 yards and two touchdowns last season. He was born on Dec. 25, 1982.

Jasper Harvey, OL, San Diego State

Harvey is a 6-3, 300-pound lineman who played center for the Aztecs last season. He started every game for San Diego State after sitting out his junior year due to a suspension. He hails from New Orleans.

Spencer Havner, LB, UCLA

Havner, 6-3 and 239 pounds, started 13 games for the Bruins last year and finished with 99 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions. He was a semifinalist for the Lombardi and Butkus Awards. Shoulder and knee injuries in 2004 may have played a part in him not getting drafted. Havner played outside linebacker in college, but some scouts have projected him as an inside linebacker in the pros.

Chris Hawkins, CB, Marshall

Hawkins transferred to Marshall from North Carolina. The 5-10, 183-pounder started every game last season and recorded 28 tackles (16 solo), five tackles for a loss, seven passes defended and one forced fumble. He also has experience as a kick return specialist.

David Lonie, P, California

Lonie is a 6-6, 220-pound punter who hails from Australia. He turns 27 years old on May 6. In 1996, Lonie competed in the Pan Pacific Games as a decathlete and pole vaulter, representing Australia. Last season for the Golden Bears, Lonie logged 61 punts for a 41.9-yard average.

Chijioke Onyenegecha, CB, Oklahoma

Onyenegecha, 6-1 and 215 pounds, became a full-time starter last year for the Sooners. He had 31 tackles (18 solo) last season, broke up seven passes and had one interception that he returned 63 yards for a touchdown. He was a second-team All-Big 12 selection.

Buck Ortega, TE, Miami Yes, another player from the "U!"

Add another Miami Hurricane to the mix. Ortega is 6-4 and 227 pounds. Last season, he caught seven passes for 112 yards, with a long of 43, and played a key role on special teams. Ortega attended Gulliver Prep, the same high school as Redskins safety Sean Taylor.

The Redskins expect to invite more than 70 prospects to the team's Rookie Camp on May 5-7 at Redskins Park. (Note: the Rookie Camp is closed to the public.) These players will participate in the camp on a tryout basis only.

Yeah! Chijoyvey Omygodcha!! I like him. Shame he's going to the hated Redskins. Thanks for the info, I won't sleep til all these guys have jobs.

D Ross

T Whitehead

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Nothin' yet. I never felt good about Whitehead. He ran over and through college kids, but it never looked fast enough or strong enough to translate. He's a nice receiver too. I have been checking his name regularly. Derrick Ross is the opposite to me. I think his size speed and power work nicely on any football field.

Article about what he went through waiting to be drafted.

Chaos Commish, do you work in the football industry??? You sure know a lot about rookies!!!

Missed this one. UGH!! Scratching his name off the list of helpers for Jason Ferguson. Good for him though. I read a long human interest piece on him back a few months and really liked him. I became interested after watching him blow up Cal's OL for four quarters over the holidays.
