i don't think this is about him trying to bring it here. I think Rory will be stronger and bigger, and be able to lean on BJ and wear him down quite a bit. not sure how BJ can win this one, i don't think he can KO or submit Rory, and i don't think he can take a decision from Rory either

yeah, but i may blame his camp and training partners as well. Where are the guys to tell BJ that this might not be the best fight for him, or even give him some sort of game plan going into this fight. I am sure BJ has at least a cracked rib or something by his liver, but i am still not sure what exactly his strategy is in this fight

The whole 'is BJ motivated?' thing has gotten tiresome over the years. Glad to see Rory clowning him. Goldy said it best 'BJ is Rory's punching bag'

He's got no shot at 170. Especially against someone with a more versatile skill set and works on his skills year round. Not just when he feels like it.
He'a a 155 guy. Him not having to cut for 170 isn't an advantage for him....it's a reason to not work.

Nice win by Gustafsson over the punch drunk Rua. His legs are the only thing that pose any threat to Jones's insane reach advantage. Jones is just at another level than everyone else in the division.
Give credit to Rua. He was gasping for air a round later than BJ Penn was.

Rua didn't look quite as slow and lethargic as he has lately, but he just doesn't seem to have it anymore. Hard to believe he was champ not too long ago.

The main things I dislike about Gustafsson are that he leads with his head too much standing up for my liking and he doesn't seem like hes trying to finish guys as much as outpoint them. He had both Shogun and Thiago hurt and didn't really work as hard as I thought he should in pressing that advantage... you let guys like that hang around and hang around and it will eventually bite him. Thats a big difference between him and Jones and one reason why I doubt he's got anything for the champ right now, even though he's a hell of a good fighter.
Rory's fight didn't really tell us anything we don't know already... BJ is too small for WW, especially against a top contender like MacDonald.

Prelims were awesome. I am old school so hated seeing Penn and Rua get dominated. But even if the main event sucks, one of the best UFC events in a long time.

Benson just too strong. He's destroying Nate's front leg so the reach advantage is meaningless. Looks like he's changing stances -- probably not a bad idea. Couldn't hurt his slim chances here.

i agree Ben is up, but he hasn't done too much to really dominate the fight. Nate has to get a little more aggressive and come after Ben, but neither guy seems to be doing anything convincingly. strange seeing Nate give up his back to get up each time

Yup, i was just typing this. I have no idea how they have had so many mess ups, we lost sound for 10 second periods 5-6 times, and they just had a nice shot of an empty arena in the middle of that round. I really don't know how they can be screwing this up, when Fuel does it just fine

there were at least 6-7 times it happened, maybe it was the FX show too. I was thinking they just had some people who were hyper-sesnitive with the censors to make sure no bad language got out.

Goldy, what does a 'changing of the guard' in this Diaz/Benson fight have to do with Gustaffson / Rory destroying two old and tired vets Penn/Rua??
Diaz/Benson are in their primes. Benson is just much physically stronger. Penn and Rua are past their prime guys that refuse to get into the condition to be productive for 3 rounds anymore.
