UFC wagering: no longer stuck with the old thread title. The window to change it is here! (12 Viewers)

I hope the buy rate tonight is incredibly low. I'm talking sub 150k buys... I'd be a pig in #### if the rate was somehow under 100k, but that feels impossible.
Rousey is a pretty solid draw. Would be surprised if it did under 300K buys. Mrs. SB will always watch a card with me if Rousey or Tate is fighting.

Is this card any worse than UFC 170 that did 300K with Rousey as the main?

Munoz struggled to make weight as did training partner Ellenberger.

I watched the weigh-ins yesterday and people coming out with 10 layers of clothes has to be the most annoying part of it. You know you're about to get weighed. Strip down to your sponsored clothing and take that off on the platform.

170 wasn't great but I think it was still better than this one - you had a top LHW in Cormier and the hype between him and Cummins, plus a scrap between contenders at 170 with Rory and Maia. Tonight's event doesn't have anything at that level - I'm kind of interested in Holm's debut, I guess, but not on the main card, and Kos-Ellenberger and Jouban-Walsh should be prelim fights too imo.

Yes IMO UFC 170 blew this card away. I don't have issue with Rousey as a headliner, but when you have a women's co-main, that's where it goes downhill fast. There better be something of major substance beyond that for all 3 remaining feature fights - instead we get 2 so-so match-ups and 2 guys with nearly no experience that many people likely haven't even heard of.

They didn't even jack up the prelim card to make it worth the price of admission. UFC really has some balls here.

I have been able to get my wife into MMA/UFC and this is the one that drives her nuts when we watch weigh-ins. the Diaz brothers were some of the best at this with their jeans and boots

I was gonna write something nearly verbatim and scrolled down to see this.

This card is awful tonight... I wouldn't order a card with a women's fight as the headliner unless there was a lot of substance on the other fights, I know that sounds terrible, but I'm honest.

I would wager Rousey-Cyborg would be the top PPV of the year, maybe beat Jones-Cormier. Would be silly to not want to watch that one

Heading to Vegas for UFC 187 in May. Such a stacked card, hope there aren't too many injuries leading up.
Must see card right there...Besides the Main Events (Rumble knocks Jones out), I like Cerrone here and obviously he'll get the winner of 185.

watching a preview show and forgot this card lost Romero-Jacare too. you add that and weidman-Vitor and it makes a huge difference

I also think Rousey may have the best walk-out these days. I did dig BJ's when he was in his prime, but the song and her demeanor is just great i think. Runner up might be Frankie Edgar's, and i can't think of who else has one that stands out these days

and Frankie's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9qgRBMfxT4

Man they both are good. I love how Frankie just runs right out there, and that song for Rhonda is just perfect with her pissy face as she comes out.

So what else is out there...????

If we talk best of all time, this has to be in the conversation:

I remember being hammered one night at some bar at the shore or something and this song came on. It was when he was still in Pride I think, or just came over. I started throwing knees all over the place and rolling my wrists, good stuff

Munoz was out for a good 5 seconds and the dumbas ref just stood there and stared at him.
yeah, that guy also let Potts take a bunch of unnecessary shots to the dome earlier - must be a Mazzagatti protege.

edit: time for Munoz to hang em up, IMO - his age is really starting to show.

well, this is interesting. Silva is going to admit to PED use to help his leg heal, which in my opinion would be something i would be ok with considering the need for it to heal and his desire to rush back into the octagon. should said that at first though:

http://www.mmamania.com/2015/2/28/8127841/report-anderson-silva-will-admit-ped-usage-was-for-healing-broken-leg

so at first he adamantly denies doing it at all, but now he changes his story and admits he did use but only to help rehab his leg? gotta say I don't really see why I should all of a sudden believe this new story or how it makes it any better that he "only" cheated for faster healing. Besides i thought he failed tests before and after the fight, which would mean he was using them during his camp after his leg was fully healed, no?

(edit to say I'm not trying to blast on ya, mo....I just don't think Silva has any creditibility with this story)

well, i do think that he wasn't the kind of fighter who has used him throughout his career or a for multiple fights. I don't really no how much he has been tested, but the way he won those fights like the Forrest Griffin fight had nothing to do with PEDs. Hate to see him ruin his whole legacy based on this fight against Diaz which i am sure the UFC wasn't complaining he came back early to help their cards and have a good January

yeah, I hear you on it being a real shame for his legacy. Like I said, not trying to jump on you about it, but it's hard to believe he only used to help rehab his leg.

and he F'd it all up by completely denying and trying to act like it was impossible he did it. Not a way to gain trust from the fans by lying to them. but at least he seems to be coming clean now

30-27 for Holm? i didn't see that, though i guess it was a little difficult to score. only round i watched closely was rd. 3 and i have no idea how you give that round to Holm.

ETA: what Sida! said
