Last start, but I've got up to live now. Thoughts so far:
When did Miocic become "Miachitch" instead of "Miochitch"?
Tibau's chin is probably gone. People just can't get hit for years and years and still be able to take hard shots.
It has been a while since I've seen someone with as bad of takedown defense as Bessette. It was the reason he lost.
On the other hand, Arce's was terrific. It was the reason he won. Arce looks like a great prospect. I have no idea where a judge found a round for Ige.
Man, Pantoja getting to Ortiz's back was impressive. Nice reversal from Ortiz. Had to be an exhausting first round for both, but Ortiz didn't look like he was tired from it at all. I had it 29-28, Ortiz. Was a bit concerned the back control he gave up would cause him to lose it.
Oh, dat uppercut. Not sure why there was a standup, but Alhassan looks like he could KO middleweights.
I'm shocked Dominick Cruz like Bochniak's movement. It was solid, though. I'm also shocked Davis trains with Jason Knight. They both act like ##### without really accomplishing anything in the UFC. When they went to Davis' corner, it seemed like all three of those guys were yelling different things. That's terrible.
I really like Rob Font, but this fight was disappointing. Almeida looked fantastic, but he simply can't take a big shot anymore. For that to be the case at a young age, it seems like Almeida won't be long for this sport. Sad.
While there are brief exchanges, I don't remember an exciting Gian Villante fight. The Barroso judge might have fallen asleep.
I really like the Rogan/Cruz combo. While they both are comfortable speaking on any aspect of fighting, Cruz is more knowledgeable on the standup, while Rogan is more formidable when discussing groundwork.
Kattar/Burgos exceeded my expectations. Of course, I had zero expectations. Excellent first round. Kattar's jab, yo! Very surprising to see Kattar come back in the third. Burgos looked like he was taking control in the second.
