I think an Erik Silva + Nunes parlay is pretty safe. Nunes should pummel Shayna. Silva has taken a few dumps before, but Koshcheck is garbage these days. I have a hard time seeing Kos win again in the UFC, this may be his last fight actually.Vegas and trolling for picks bump.

Being in Brazil, I'd pay attention to who the Brazilians are fighting on the card. Trinaldo may have some value.
There are better people to listen to in here though. Hopefully some other will chime in.
I'm on LaFlare -105 now that he's moved to a slight dog. I like Maia and he has looked impressive since his move down to 170, but LaFlare fights at a relentless pace, has good length and excellent overall wrestling. This fight will come down to if Maia can put LaFlare on his back and hold him there long enough to work in some subs. I'm betting against that as I expect Ryan to be the stronger and better conditioned fighter and I think he will be able to get to his feet rather quickly if/when Maia can put him there. I expect him to pressure Maia to wear him down, possibly mixing in a few of his own takedowns. Being a 5 rounder provides LaFlare a further advantage IMO as I think he will be able to impose his will in the 4th and 5th.
i'm on Maia at -105Refs have a tough job, but jesus that was bad. There was nothing there.
Point deduction.i actually thought Koscheck looked good last night, better than i thought he did. He had a bad break or 2 (that one slip he had put him in bad position), but there are a lot of guys out there that he could beat pretty good stillMissed the fight but looks like Koscheck got beat with a guillotine again. Twice in a few weeks?
Hope the guy retires. It's time.
Heard yesterday it was contingent on her being able to make 135. Apparently, her next Invicta fight is at 145, then her following one she must make 135 in order to then get a UFC fight. Maybe the contract is designed during a period where they can drop her if it looks like weight will continue to be a problem?modogg said:Looks like the UFC has signed Cyborg to a 2-month contract. I got the portugese version of the news if you like:
http://sportv.globo.com/site/combate/noticia/2015/03/cris-cyborg-confirma-contrato-com-o-ufc-e-desafia-ronda-mais-uma-vez.html
from what i see it might be a 2-month contract which is weird. come in and fight Rousey then that is it?
Putting way too many eggs in that basket it seems.Gonna be an entertaining fight either way. Don't see anyway that it could be boring.I've been steadily losing interest in the sport for a while now for whatever reason. I've always loved me some Aldo so I just started catching up on the hype for the McGregor fight. July 11th!? All this for a fight that is still 4+ moths away?Putting way too many eggs in that basket it seems.
Now it's in the books as a no decision.Refs have a tough job, but jesus that was bad. There was nothing there.
Turned out to be a nice blueprint to start with for those fights. Thanks! alsoshamelessbumpI think an Erik Silva + Nunes parlay is pretty safe. Nunes should pummel Shayna. it didn't look like he was putting much of an effort into escaping the knee bar (some leg lock, i think that was what it was). His temper tantrum is pretty bad though, i get being emotionally invested, but totally egocentric and takes away from a new champ. i'd be pissed too, but I don't know many that will see that and feel like Warren got robbed. It all seemed so weird to me... What if Warren screamed like a girl on purpose to then act outraged (I'm sure he knows the rules) vs tapping out? Does he kinda look at Big Dan out of the corner of his eye before the girly noise?
When you're the baddest man on the planet you have to have the baddest scream.I don't know if i have ever heard a grown man scream like that before. and Joe Warren running around pouting makes it look twice as bad
nice. still on dvr, haven't watched yet. I've see 3 or 4 other Justin Gaethje fights -- he's really good.Onions said:Obviously the quality of competition in the a World Series of Fighting is much weaker than the UFC, but the Justin Gaethje/Luis Palomino title fight on tonight's WSOF 19 card was, without question, the best MMA fight I've seen in a couple of years.
An absolute slugfest from the opening bell. If you can catch the replay of it on NBCSN, it is well worth watching.
Gotta be Cenegenics.Craig_MiamiFL said:
yeah, he is becoming a great heel in the UFC. seeing some of his interviews and things, really comes off as a big ****. Happy he won me money, but i would like to hear the uncensored version of what he had to say. looked like he was getting ready to go into the crowd and throw down. Are you ####### booing me?!![]()
it was definitely a little uncomfortable to watch, but I thought he did a solid job giving Ricardo an opportunity to recover - Chad wasn't really able to land anything clean the first couple times Lamas went down to finish him off. Lamas is a really tough dude and I thought he might be able to get back in it at first, but after he got up and then fell backward the second time it was obvious he was done. After that Mendes started landing clean shots on the ground and Miragliotta stopped it.Not sure what the referee was waiting/wanting to see with respect to the stoppage in the Mendes fight.
I'm going to carry over a discussion with mo from the gambling thread. A little memorial to Gray Maynard if you would.
I agree with mo that Gray's actual skill set has been improving the last couple fights. He has generally been winning up to the point he's not. He's lost the ability to recover, his chin is absolute glass. Edgar stole his soul. I'm documented on here stating the Maynard vs Edgar 2 was the largest play of my life at that point on Maynard. What a swing and a miss there.
No disrespect to a great fighter, and a warrior, but please hang them up Gray.
yep - Al was getting worked on the feet all fight and almost got finished late in the first. He tried a bunch of takedowns and Masvidal stuffed all of them. Crowd booed the decision.Damn I woke up really early to get some work done with intent on catching this but fell asleep right before this started & missed the whole thing.
Was the Iaquinta decision controversial at all? (Sherdog all it 30-27,30-27, 29-29 UD Masvidal). I always find it odd how 2 judges can see things so differently (like here 30-27 Masvidal & 29-28 Iaquintax2)
Masvidal cleary had the first round which all three judges seem to agree on. 2 and 3 were close, Ianquinta was wearing more damage (huge gash under his eye openend in the 2nd). Masvidal's knee/thigh were turning purple by the end of the fight from leg kicks. Masvidal was outclassing him technically but AIQ kept it scrappy and was landing his own shots here and there.Craig_MiamiFL said:Was the Iaquinta decision controversial at all? I think so too, but it was very close. I do tend to root for the guy who gets beat up bad early to come back. Masvidal should have finished him in the first. For whatever reason I found myself pulling for AIQ as the fight progressed, probably because he withstood the first round beating.I thought AIQ lost the fight.
I was with everyone else thinking Masvidal took it, but this guy at mmamania wrote a real good article about the 3rd round:I haven't seen the fight, but the stats at FightMetric support a win by Masvidal and it's not particularly close.

That is a good little read, thanks. Based on my post above, sounds like I saw that round alot like this guy did.modogg said:I was with everyone else thinking Masvidal took it, but this guy at mmamania wrote a real good article about the 3rd round:SacramentoBob said:I haven't seen the fight, but the stats at FightMetric support a win by Masvidal and it's not particularly close.

I didn't realize that firghtmetric was as unreliable as he points to in a few examples in his article. Shame about compustrike, but I can believe there isn't much money in collecting stats for MMA so it isn't something that many would choose to keep up with
Regardless of how things played out though, Crosby's involvement in the fight is baffling in retrospect, considering his long-standing and relatively acrimonious history with the Serra-Longo Fight Team. Iaquinta's head coach, Ray Longo, told Ariel Helwani on Monday that Crosby has had "inappropriate relationships" with several fighters connected to the gym, including an incident with an unnamed woman which led to her securing a "court order of protection" against Crosby which she held for almost three years and was enforced by two judges.
A part-time official who moonlights as a stunt coordinator in the film industry, Crosby was also recently rebuffed by Iaquinta after seeking the fighter's services for a project. That obvious conflict of interest alone prompted Iaquinta to call it a "travesty" that Crosby was nonetheless assigned to judge his fight.
"It's been documented, Doug Crosby has a long-going feud with -- well, not a feud, but whatever, he hates on us, most particularly Ray Longo," Iaquinta said. "He's got a problem, and this is where it gets serious. The whole thing, MMA, this whole thing is kind of like a joke. Everyone thinks, oh, boo, I cursed them, it's funny. But this is where it gets serious.
"I turned down an offer from this guy, whatever the reason being, and then he's judging my fight. So right there, I don't know, it's just not right. I don't know how that happened. After the fight, I was looking around the cage and I then I saw him sitting down and I said to Ray, ‘Why is this guy judging my fight?' I knew right away, I'm down one judge. I'm down. Three judges are supposed to be objective, see the fight how it is. I knew right off the bat, this guy wasn't giving me nothing."
