He rolled it on a wide run, trying to cut back up field. I suspect just a strain - out for a couple weeks.Stewart - ankle injury.
On another note, Williams would have been by that defender and celebrating around the time Stewart went down. Williams was definately the better back based upon pre-season performance this year.He rolled it on a wide run, trying to cut back up field. He went to the training room last week too. This was obviously more serious but it's a bad pattern.Didnt look serious at all. I was surprised to see him being carted off. I actually excepted him to limp ack to the sideline.
Dude walked to the sideline. Not achilles.Looks like an achilles tear to me
He's hurt too. Was held out of this game. If Stewart is hurt, Poole could be the next in line if he can get healthy.Tauren Poole has looked good as well. I could see him getting some carries while Tolbert remains at FBEdit: although he is currently sitting with concussion
Please stopLooks like an achilles tear to me
This make me snicker, thanks, guy.I rolled my ankle last week, had the guys cart me off the jobsite for dramatic effect, will be back tomorrow at 90%. Based on my expertise in the matter, Stewart will be fine
Yeah agreed. Looked like a good old fashioned sprained ankle.Dude walked to the sideline. Not achilles.Looks like an achilles tear to me
It did not look pretty...but know one knows a thing till the MRI and X-Rays (in case of a fracture in the ankle) But he rolled it hard. And grabbed around his heal area right away (hence the previous post thinking on the achilles theory).
Either way it can be really serious or minor. It's all speculation till we hear more tomorrow.
That Bolded part Pure Genius!! lmmao I remember Jamal Lewis walking off the field laughing with teamates until the MRI said he was done for the yr!It did not look pretty...but know one knows a thing till the MRI and X-Rays (in case of a fracture in the ankle) But he rolled it hard. So he's only missed two games in his career, but how many games did he play in but then leave due to injury? It sure seems like he's been nicked up a lot over the last 4 years and been rendered less than 100% in more than just two games due to lingering injuries.Per rotoworld:
Jonathan Stewart was carted off the field with a right ankle injury in the second quarter of Sunday night's preseason matchup with the Jets.
Stewart was hit low by Jets SS LaRon Landry. The injury didn't appear significant at first glance, but we were obligated to post because Stewart was carted off the field. Though considered "injury prone" in some circles, Stewart has played in 62-of-64 possible games in his career. We suspect he'll be okay
Not as many as you'd think. The guy is always banged up, but he rarely comes out the game or misses much time. It's a running joke among Panthers fans about what kind of lingering injury Stewart will have every year that will keep him out of practice, but won't stop him from playing in the games. So he's only missed two games in his career, but how many games did he play in but then leave due to injury? i could have sworn the refs picked his leg up from the field and handed it to the team doctorDude walked to the sideline. Not achilles.Looks like an achilles tear to me
Not too much there, but the bolded part is hopefully a good sign.EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart injured his right ankle late in the first half of the team's preseason game against the New York Jets on Sunday night.
The Panthers announced in the third quarter that Stewart was out for the rest of the game.
On first-and-goal from the Jets 9 with just over 2 minutes left in the half, Stewart took a handoff from Cam Newton and went down the right sideline for 7 yards before he was knocked out of bounds on a hard hit by LaRon Landry. Stewart stayed down for a few moments before being helped to the bench.
After trainers looked at Stewart's right leg, the running back was carted to the locker room - but was smiling at his teammates as he headed into the tunnel.
He isn't in the same class as Calvin Johnson but Megatron is the same way.Not as many as you'd think. The guy is always banged up, but he rarely comes out the game or misses much time. WTH? Why would someone want to trade AJ for those two?I seen it and don't think the other owner saw it, but when I asked about Williams he offered me Williams and Dem. Thomas for A.J. Green. I am not sure if I should do it or not.

I read a note on twitter that he was getting his knee iced around the same time Stewart got injured, but I haven't seen anything else about it (even though I asked a couple panthers beat writers). I have been to the Panthers camp a number of times this year though, and Tolbert is being used in a lot of unique packages. My guess is that they are trying to avoid showing their cards too much on that front in the preseason, given how odd it is for a FB to be anything more than an occasional short yardage guy. I expect Tolbert to be a lot more than just a normal FB this year.I would have thought Tolbert would get a few touches.
High ankle sprain or garden-variety ankle sprain?sprained ankle, X-rays negative. Per Darin Gantt and Joe Person
You're gonna want to go ahead and accept that trade.I did not see it, but the Stewart owner did. He just offered Desean for DWill.
Thank you.sprained ankle, X-rays negative. Per Darin Gantt and Joe Person
