Underrated 80's/90's songs... (1 Viewer)

I am way late to the Stone Roses party, but have been listening to their debut a lot lately:

is a standout IMO.

Haircut 100- love plus one

Los Lobos- matter of time

Midnight Oil- forgotten years

Paul Weller- wildwood

Richard Thompson- I feel so good

Waterboys- the whole of the moon

Was mentioned way back at the beginning of the thread in 2006, but

World Party - Ship of Fools

These are good songs, but I would say most of these don't qualify as underrated

Well, what would you say makes a song under rated? I think this is some of the above artists best work and the only one of them that gets any consistent main stream/Pandora play is Cherub Rock. Looked around for something else by the Pumpkins, but most of the non-singles I really like aren't great. I think Cherub Rock is 'great' whereas most of their top singles aren't. I could listen to that song and Bullet on repeat, probably it though. Yet they're best known for Today, 1979, Tonight Tonight, and sucking post Mellon Collie. If I can sub it with Siva I'd be alright with that.I mean, I could rattle off several songs that most haven't heard of, but I didn't think they fit into this thread. Under rated isn't the same as not well known.

Ha. I almost linked a pair of brown eyes but figured pickles would have told me an american football board is already in unanimous consent on it.
