That's my point--he's not even flirting with bending a rule here. I truly and honestly do not get the "welllllll, I wouldn't do it... but I *guess* it might be okay" reaction in this thread. He's giving what he genuinely believes to be good advice. There is no vice in that. If he benefits, so be it.

NoHe's lobbying the bad teams to go and block the middle tier teams from picking up a guy that might help them.

Yeah... so what? If he's giving advice that he KNOWS is bad advice to screw the team to whom he is giving the advice (telling a guppy to run right out and pick up Tom Brady this week, or some such), then that's a scurveball play. If he's giving advice that going to help a guy--is he somehow then culpable to all of those teams that he DOESN'T give advice to?? If that is the standard to which you are holding a guy, I've got to be honest with you... that sounds a little Tinkerbell-ish to me.

I know when I've pickpocketed an owner. I have no problem admitting to it. I just fail to see what I did wrong here.

If I did this in my 2 big leagues, they would consider the "tip" but still make up their own mind. They know I know my stuff, but they do to and I've been wrong MANY times.As I said before Bell, Davenport, SA, BLAHHH. The jokes on the guy who picked him up! ...and that is why it is allowable. You can only do it so many times and you are probably wrong.Lets face it, if talking football with my buddies is restricted then why should we play? I call them all the time under the front of FF.

As i said before, Tatum F'ing Bell, ain't gonna help anyone's team. The owner that picks him up gets to waste a roster spot. You can't even buy great advice like this anymore.

It's not unethical even if you're the commish. All you're doing is letting people know what's public knowledge. You can choose to say something or not. It's not inside information.

But sending an email to two people about Tatum? When it was already known for anybody who chose to look for it? If I had called these two people would it have been okay?

Dude, ya gotta let it go. When you post a topic asking if people think something is unethical you clearly know there is some "gray" area and should be expecting plenty of people to say they wouldn't approve of what you did. You defend every single post that doesn't approve of your behavior. You mgiht as well be done with this and just move on, accepting that not everyone thinks your actions were noble.The bottom line is many people in here, including myself, think that the issue is that you are justifying that this is PUBLIC knowledge as your defense when you SEEK OUT only two people to make strategy suggestions with where their action could benefit you. If it WAS public knowledge than you had NO reason to seek these guys out and suggest to them how they run their teams. It's not against any rules and some people applaud it, some people don't. That's just how it is.You clearly are letting the guy who is complaining in your league get the best of you if this issue is rattling you this much. Tell him "this is a cutthroat league, I didn't break any rules, so kiss my @##$%"
