Can't believe I've never seen this movie. Excellent.
I cant believe it either
Always hear good things about Open Range, need to see that one finally.I think The Assassination of Jesse James and Tombstone deserve to be mentioned there as well, might even like both more than Unforgiven. That and open range and ncfom are the three best westerns of the last 30 years.
No Country isn't a Western. We've been down this road already. That and open range and ncfom are the three best westerns of the last 30 years.
Im not sure if its worse that you havent seen the more acclaimed best picture winner from 5 years ago or Eastwood best picture from 20 years ago.Have not seen either of those other two either. Guess I've just never been drawn to westerns.....my dad loved them.....not sure why I have not. Will check them out.
Of course it is. Right, wrong, guilt, redemption, outlaws, heros, and the dry Texas heat. It's a western. No Country isn't a Western. We've been down this road already. That and open range and ncfom are the three best westerns of the last 30 years.
The closest old country gets to being a ''western'' is that it was filmed out west and it has guns.Of course it is. Right, wrong, guilt, redemption, outlaws, heros, and the dry Texas heat. Never liked the Godfather.Sweet. You might try a movie called Citizen Kane next. Or the Godfather.
Citizen Kane suckedSweet. You might try a movie called Citizen Kane next. Or the Godfather.
I wont disagree like others with NCFOM, but True Romance?!Odd, but whatever. Unforgivien is great as is open range. (for the record, ncfom is a western as is true romance).
Ha. Okay. Touch of Evil?Citizen Kane suckedSweet. You might try a movie called Citizen Kane next. Or the Godfather.
Overall the Godfather was dull , but it had some of the most memorable scenes in movie historyNever liked the Godfather.Sweet. You might try a movie called Citizen Kane next. Or the Godfather.
Good guy trying to do right, chased by a band of always-bads, left looking to a way out that balances personal safety with personal morality. Tempted to do whats wrong in an effort to sirvive against great odds even though he knows its not right Yeah, it's a western.I wont disagree like others with NCFOM, but True Romance?!Odd, but whatever. You do realise that westerns are time pieces right? Westerns are devoted to telling stories set primarily in the latter half of the 19th century in the American Old West, hence the name.Good guy trying to do right, chased by a band of always-bads, left looking to a way out that balances personal safety with personal morality. I feel the same about Unforgiven. It's overrated definitely. It's not even one of Clint's top three westerns.I never thought Unforgiven was deserving of all of the praise it's received. Good movie but I don't think it ranks up there.
Ehh, hard to compare pre-1980 Eastwood with after that. Then again, pretty much every movie Eastwood has been in is a western /AbrahamI feel the same about Unforgiven. It's overrated definitely. I liked it when Hillary Swank shot the gun out of the bad guy's hand in Million Dollar Baby.Ehh, hard to compare pre-1980 Eastwood with after that. The ending saved the movie for sure, up until that final scene Clints character was kind of a p#ssy....then all hell broke looseI feel the same about Unforgiven. It's overrated definitely. Little Bill Daggett: ''Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a #####! You just shot an unarmed man''! Will Munny: ''Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend''.One of the all-time great scenes in any movie. The ending saved the movie for sure, up until that final scene Clints character was kind of a p#ssy....then all hell broke looseI feel the same about Unforgiven. To me, westerns are period pieces. So even though I like it, No Country doesn't count. That and open range and ncfom are the three best westerns of the last 30 years.
Tombstone is certainly the most fun to watch and has the most re-watchability. Kind of like most of Eastwood's earlier ones. The other three require me to be in a certain mood.Always hear good things about Open Range, need to see that one finally.I think The Assassination of Jesse James and Tombstone deserve to be mentioned there as well, might even like both more than Unforgiven. That and open range and ncfom are the three best westerns of the last 30 years.

GTFOOdd, but whatever. Unforgivien is great as is open range. (for the record, ncfom is a western as is true romance).
They both sucked.Sweet. You might try a movie called Citizen Kane next. Or the Godfather.
Ahnold makes great westernsKindergarten Cop was my favorite.
One of the most underrated Westerns of it's time. What, no talk of Back to the Future III?!![]()
I liked Unforgiven also, but it is basically a remake of the movie "Shane". Shane is considered by some as the greatest westerns ever made. Can't believe I've never seen this movie. Excellent.
Not as acclaimed, but I saw 3:10 to Yuma again last week on Encore Westerns and really like that movie. That and open range and ncfom are the three best westerns of the last 30 years.
