UPDATE: So I think I may have lung cancer (2 Viewers)

I don't know if you've mentioned this before and if you did I missed it but man good luck. I don't pray regularly, but I will for Chance.

 
Big prayers from the bentley family. If there's anything we can do with blood donations, cash, etc. let me know via PM. You're not that far away and I'm pretty sure AngryWife would do anything for the guy that recorded "Brady."

Good luck man. I lost my mom to cancer a couple months ago and the past 2 years of her pain and suffering just crushed my family. Cancer is the worst. Just hang in there and keep having faith.

Prayers to you and your family. Kids are usually the strongest fighters when it comes to beating cancer. Do you mind if I ask what type of cancer diagnosis Chance has?

 
This thread is just full of sadness. Sorry bb, about your son Chance. I don't pray but have asked my dad to pray for your son.

Pediatric cancer just sucks and because it is so rare, there is not a lot of research dollars that go toward it. For those who are sad in this thread and want to do something, please consider donating money to help fight cancer. I am riding in a bike tour later this summer to do just that. I'm so ####### sick of cancer.

 
BB didn't you post something awhile back about your son playing hoops with Dickie V, or was that another poster? I remember thinking that was a great story either way.

Will be praying for your boy.

Many thanks. It's brain cancer - nongerminomatous germ cell tumor - located in the pineal region of the mid-brain.

Good Posting The wife and I donate monthly to St. Judes Children's Hospital. It isn't a lot, but it's something. I feel good every time I see that come out of the bank.T&P&GoodVibes to everyone battling this ####ed up disease#### Cancer

I had checked into this thread a few times before hoping for an update from enfuego :( Still hoping for him.

Sending positive vibes to Chance and steelerfan1's Dad. Just a horrible disease that affects everyone at one time or another.

Here's hoping that enfuego is still fighting...although I think he would have checked in by now. :(

Gotta think positive and keep fighting. I saw it work with my Mom. Pray it works with Chance, enfuego and all.

I am a child cancer survivor (turning 43 in August) and have two older brothers who are survivors as well, one with throat cancer the other with lung cancer, although the one with lung cancer has not made it past five years yet. To those suffering with the disease and those around them stay strong and keep fighting. Even miracles can happen.

 
:( Just landed in this thread for the first time. oof. My condolences/thoughts going out to all of you who are fighting or who have family members who are fighting. Cancer hits my family hard... I'm certain it will get me at some point. Such a cruel disease. Be strong guys.

BB, my dad is goig to a new center that just opened in davenport fl. i am trying to get him to go to the moffit center in tampa which is like 90 miles from him but he said he will be getting radiation everyday and chemo 3-4 times a week and is not going to deal with that travel time.

BB, just wanted to say our neighbors grand daughter had stage 4 brain cancer, a very aggressive form, but not sure of name, and after a couple surgeries and treatment she is back at school. believe she is around your sons age. i'll be praying for him.

Yeah, we were real lucky that we live within minutes of one of the best medical centers in the country. Got to sleep in our beds most nights. A lot of patients were from out of town and were staying at hotels or extended stays. That would be a drag, as would a long commute. I can understand your dad's resistance.

Thanks man. And I really do like hearing survivor stories. As for the stage thing, we were never given a stage for our son's cancer. Not sure whether that was because of the specific type of tumor.
 
This thread is such a kick in the teeth. I guess there's no way to check on the OP and see if he's doing alright? An e-mail or otherwise?

Yep. Felt like a gut punch reading this. I watch my mom battle every day. She's amazing. #### cancer forever and for us all. But when it's a kid, it punches so much harder. Pulling for your kid, BB. I have a very positive feeling about it after doing a little reading.

Once again, thank you everyone for the words of encouragement and support. I know it feels like a gut punch to some of you; it certainly was to us when we first got the news. Our lives changed forever that day. But not all for the worse. Our family is closer than ever. We have new found perspective on what is important in our lives. We've come to know love in a profound way previously unknown to us. If you had told me a year ago that I would be going through this, I would have bet everything I own that I would have been consumed by anger and bitterness. But I would have been wrong. Just being around Chance and seeing his strength and warmth on display every minute of every day inspires me to fill my days instead with love and positivity. It's an amazing thing really.

if it's very aggressive and Stage 4 it's likely glioblastoma. I'm glad Chance does not have that one......
