Small peek behind the curtain to my email box.

We published a feature last night in the Newsletter about 7 values we see on ESPN for RBs where we differ in value from how ESPN ranks them. This is the kind of stuff I"m talking about here where I asked about fantasy owners using the pre populated draft list on the league platform drafting app.

7 Running Back Values In Your ESPN Draft

Two replies to last night's email with the feature story.

Nice one! I play on ESPN and as you guys always point out, every site's ADP is different,

a few minutes later

I used to like you guys, but the false narrative you’re painting against ESPN doesn’t look flattering. Instead of bashing, just focus on what you do best. In reading the article about 7 RBs that will help win your league, the negative statements made against ESPN just aren’t true. I’ve read the player breakdowns. Please do better.

It's life.

I just read the article. It's so obvious Clayton was just being funny writing stuff like "The Cincinnati offense is all passing, so running backs don't matter." Of course he is exaggerating, but some folks will still get offended. It's like when a person with no sense of humor chooses to go listen to a comedian.

Good stuff. One nit.

The "value gained" column doesn't truly reflect "value." A value of 7 draft spots high in the draft is WAAAY more valuable than a value of 45 draft spots way late in the draft. It seems like the value column should be weighted somehow to reflect true value.

Wow. Tahj Brooks is nowhere near Brown’s talent level? That may be some crow that will get served up as the season progresses.

Absolutley may be the case we eat crow. When one takes a strong position, you open yourself up for that. Way easier to go along with consensus as you don't get everyone shouting about how you have to eat crow. But that's just part of it.

I think it's much worse to die a slow death regurgitating conventional wisdom than it is to take the " :lmao: you were wrong LOLZ!!!" shots when we are inevitably wrong on some calls.

Well, I’m absolutely prepared to eat crow myself, but I’m seeing a guy in Brooks whose game and ability is tailor made for the NFL, especially with a team like CIN, and that Brown is just an average starting RB at his best.

We’ll see, but it did surprise me that they are seeing such a wide chasm in capability between Brown and Brooks. Like jump-off-the -page surprised.

We will always remember Jermichael Finley.
