Bournemouth have followed Chelsea in triggering Tyler Adams’ release clause for £20m
Club now optimistic to get deal done as player is keen on the move at this stage.
BHA would be better but people are sleeping on Bournemouth. They've done excellent business this offseason including pulling the manager from Rayo Vallecano (Andoni Iraola who played for NYCFC). I think they'll be safe right now and adding a guy like Adams and they're probably safely midtable.

AS Monaco and Arsenal are in ADVANCED negotiations over the signing of Folarin Balogun. Monaco’s improved offer, which will be submitted this week, is expected to reach close to £50M after add-ons. Both clubs are confident a deal will be wrapped up soon.

Also on X.

That would be close to 58m Euros. Monaco's record buy before this was 45M Euros....

Well they obviously liked what they saw last season I guess and they probably figure at his age they can make some of it back if he is a bust, and make a profit if he continues to score at the pace he did last season.

Milan's first game is this Monday vs Bologna.

Musah will be serving a red card suspension from the red he took in the last game of last season with Valencia (subbing in late in their relegation battle game)

wasn't BHA still interested in Adams? and didnt' they also trigger the release clause a bit ago? I'd rather see him there
yes. I think I saw that link with in the last couple of days. I will add to the rumors
Reading Liverpool also interested since they missed out on Caicedo and Lavia.

Maybe wishful thinking, but I think he would actually get a lot of minutes there since it's a position where they could really use help.

saw that too.

this kid appears to be the next MF domino to drop before anything happens with Adams (hopefully there aren't more rated above him)...

Brighton are in discussions over a £15m deal for Lille's 19-year-old midfielder Carlos Baleba having already agreed personal terms as they look to fill the void left by Moises Caicedo's move to Chelsea. (Fabrizio Romano)

Liverpool, Newcastle United, AC Milan and Juventus are among the clubs who have also been on been on Baleba's trail. (Mail)

Pepi on bench for PSV today in a Champions League qualifier. Tillman did not dress today.
Pepi off the bench with a goal to make it 3-1

eta: on a PK... cool that they're giving him those, even as a sub.
what a terrible way to give away a PK. Pepi played the entire second half today.

With the win, PSV advances to the last qualifying round, vs Rangers.

Winner of the game against Rangers gets into the UCL group stage, loser goes to Europa League Group stage so no matter what, plenty of Euro ball to go for PSV.

Zimm wins a massive header that directly leads to the opening goal of the game in the semi finals: Nashville vs Monterrey

1-0 now in the 75th minute

come on, this feels close

Understand Monaco have launched their second bid for Balogun worth just under €50m inc add ons. Arsenal likely to push for slightly more, but clubs are very close in valuations now. Balogun is open to the move and all parties working to get a deal done soon

per BBC this afternoon (Adams must be one of the six. I mean... has to be, right?)

Liverpool are considering as many as six defensive midfield targets, including Fulham and Portugal international Joao Palhinha, 28, and Crystal Palace and Mali midfielder Cheick Doucoure, 23. (Mail)

others have mentioned it, but this feels underwhelming in terms of moves.

but hopefully he makes it work and bangs in a bunch of goals.

I saw a couple of days ago that Liverpool had contacted Leeds about Adams but had not yet triggered the release clause so yes, he is likely one of the 6.

agreed, but anything has to be better than not dressing at his age.

Thanks guys. Helpful information. I played soccer back in HS and enjoy watching it, but never got into MLS and really never follow anything outside of World Cup.

I live in Philly though and my kids are starting to get into soccer now and we are heading to our first Union game in a couple of weeks — so I want to be able to adopt them as a team to cheer for together but want to understand what the heck is going on.
That is great. You guys should have a blast.

Who will they be playing against?

FC Dallas. We have seats in section 128 and got a parking pass. So it should be fun!
UGH.

Because of the League Cup thing, the game is rescheduled for a Wednesday in September. My kids are too young for a late night in the middle of the school week. So now I have to see if I can exchange them on Stubhub for another game.

Looks like Sarge is on the bench for the league cup today. Lots of high numbers in the starting lineup so it looks like either a reserve team or at least a lot of normal subs who are starting.

Extremely standard practice to make closer to eleven changes than none from the last league game in this

We are only a couple of weeks away from our first GGG roster of the new cycle and the associated "why did he call up that bum?" that goes along with it.
Sarge, Vazquez, and Pefok a striker and Balogun and Pepi left out..... US fans melt down.
Unironically... I wouldn't actually be surprised to see Balogun left at home. Starting this late with a team, it's probably better for his season if he stays and works on the new team offense/dynamic.

I keep seeing Steffen's name for upcoming City games. sucks.

wth is going to happen with him... staying a part of City without a loan or sale seems pointless.

It is the exact nightmare situation we want to avoid with Balogun.

We are in a bad spot with some of our keepers. Turner starting is great (and probably the most important) but Turner is also keeping Horvath on the bench. With Horvath and Steffen both not seeing any game time, GGG may have to start looking elsewhere for back ups.

replace Sarge with Haji and you're on to something.
and lets not forget GGG has always liked Jesus too...
Jesus is alright with me.

well, considering I blew the song title... I think that may be a little odd.

My buddy in LA says Tyler Boyd has been playing great this season.

Remember when dual national brought excitement over NZ guys?

Hmm, Men In Blazers say that the new Leeds manager seems to be hinting that the Adams release clause has expired and he is training again with Leeds....

Marco Etcheverry is joining DC United's academy and will be coaching the U15 team. It is nice to see the old super star staying in the game.

Having a Spanish speaking legend in the academy has to be worth a lot especially to kids that age who will be walking past his pictures of his playing days on the wall.
