Just checked out some NFL player and writer twitters, including Schefter's last 4+. 1,000 more followers closer to @TheEllenShow, which our Twitter family will try to hunt downOGOchocinco I had to drop him,, the guy doesn't do anything else all day it seems. I look in on Tweeter maybe once or twice a day, and there's 4 pages of babble from Chad to wade through.
Same for Rich Eisen. Too much, it's like Twitter diarrhea between those two.
I enjoy QBKILLA Warren Sapp, it's fun trying to figure out just what the hell he's talking about. (Typical Sapp tweet- "You ever try them things, them red ones? OOOOO dats what I mean about them things! HOLLA!", or "Shower gel. It burn! HOLLA!")
However, Bang Cartoons can be found at BCRH.

So I finally gave in and signed up to Twitter.....specifically for this purpose....but I have a few questions that hopefully you guys can help me out with.
Im following a few players and nlf network and blah blah blah...but is there a way to organize what you follow? Such as putting all football news into one area, baseball in another, and regular news in another? Right now it just seems so unorganized. I have to search through a bunch of BS just to find NFL specific information...

Ain't never been there you tell me it's nice................ explain it to me like I'm a 10 year old.
The Twitter is humming with first hand accounts of practices. if you use tweet deck to organization by team, you can sift it into team by team and then you can get a clear account of one practice in one stream. Its funny to watch the writers all post the same thing but with different details within a minute of each other.
just want to let you guys know Im trying to retweet everything good from the 100+ team sources im following during the day all week for the next 3 weeks while im working the FBG newswire, check it out!

What is the difference between "sigmund_bloom", and "the_audible." Do you tweet from both of them?
I heard Florio talking about Twitter on a radio spot today, and he said it's going ot be interesting to see what happens when the season starts. Particularly, if there s a bad call during a game. Will the NFL fine players for ridiculing NFL officials via twitter? How will they even know which Twitter accounts are official?

Twitter is a rumor mill, and too much information can be a bad thing.. people can't see the forest through the trees. I'll stay away from that, but thanks anyway

Most beat writers tweet things they later write into their articles. The only rumormongers are people like Schefter, who also report their share of hard info. Twitter is only a rumor mill if you are following the wrong people.As far as TMI, its the same info that we get from the traditional sources, just faster, and we can directly talk to the sources of the info instead of the one-way exchange an article is.Twitter is a rumor mill, and too much information can be a bad thing.. people can't see the forest through the trees. It's not the analysis you should be paying attention to anyway. You should always take the analysis with a grain of salt. Exp: Ray Rice is going to have an amazing year, Flacco is going to have a sophmore slump.
You should instead pay more attention to the actual happenings (Rice is showing better acceleration and cutting ability, Flacco threw the ball across the field and it got INT). Form your own opinions, weigh them against what other experts are saying and decide who you will draft or avoid that way.

Hey Frank, I would be happy to help you set up a twitter account if you want to try. Takes less than five minutes to get it up and running. I admit, I was a nay-sayer like Bloom. Twitter quickly replaces almost all vehicles of football info ... the timeliness is amazing.

Not necessarily true, JMO but in the last couple of days I have read/seen a couple stories come across Twitter before it hits FBG and other sites and agencies (ESPN etc.). For example Tavaris Jackson's injury, the Chris Wells injury and Brandon Marshall's injury. All those stories/tidbits hit really quick, actually right after it happen probably. I think Twitter is a great tool for quick/up-to-date stuff you will not find by just doing a general Google search. Now I will probably not post a comment anytime soon on Twitter but I will follow some of the people that were mentioned earlier in this thread just for informative purposes if nothing else.Twitter is a rumor mill, and too much information can be a bad thing.. people can't see the forest through the trees. go to twitter.com, create an account, start following people, start posting your own stuff (if you like), rinse repeatcouple of notes:1) starting a message with a handle (@SigmundBloom) makes it a message to that person - not quite a direct message, which has a separate interface, but it is only meant for them to see, unless someone is following both of you, then they'll see it.2) RT means you are retweeting if jason wood (@wood83) says "Chase Stuart Like Amstel Light" and i think its funny and want to pass that thought on to my followers, i post RT @wood83 Chase Stuart Like Amstel Light3) fridays are follow friday when you post people that you think other people should follow4) # - identifies something as a search term. I still havent mastered this one.

I'm new to twitter too. I was wondering if someone would suggest a place or person to follow for just getting general updates as quickly as possible, similar to the FBG emails of breaking news. I am reluctant to follow a list of individual teams and a ton of sites at first out of fear of getting bombarded with tidbits of things all day that do not really have much impact on fantasy football. Hopefully that makes sense. I'm basically wanting to stick to following a small amount of people or sites for fast updates that could possibly give me an advantage over leaguemates. Thanks.
Thats what ill be trying to do with my feed (of course it wont be 24/7). I'll think on it and list a few others that are good for that.

I like what I am seeing so far this morning. It is nice to know who is standing out in camps like your tweet on DeSean Jackson.
There really has been a need for someone to sift through all the irrelevant tweets, and re-tweet the pertinent fantasy related news. If someone would have told me a month ago that I would be bypassing most other forms of media for news, I wouldn't of believed it.I am in love with this form of technology, and only expect it to get more popular during the season.\Bloom, your 689 followers should be at 6,000 by next season.

Add Detroit to list of NFL teams that ban media from twittering from practice. That's 10 teams all together. That's unnecessary something.

TBBuccaneers is the official twitter of the Bucs, and they are tweeting away. Interesting how some organizations are cool with it, and others are banning.

Not a Twitter user but thinking I should be getting onboard with regards to fantasy updates ....
Is this worth my time? Are people gaining some real insight here? It seems to me that during the season this could be pretty informative with regards to a player "tweeting" how they are feeling. In addition I am also thinking that following the beat writers for each franchise is worthy.

Yes, this is the only way I use Twitter. You get info more timely than any other means. In addition, most of the beat writers are gracious enough to answer questions. They seem to be more "informal" than what you read in a paper or online. I think they are just being real. I have been hooked and enjoy Twitter.
